Stumbling off the bus in Midtown, Harley Martin thought she found an escape from her old life.

She soon realizes it was anything but that.

Low on cash and options, she manages to find herself a cheap but surprisingly nice apartment. The catch? The last tenant, Brody Walsh, killed himself.

Or did he?

As disturbing dreams and hauntings start to occur, Harley realizes there may b

After a shaky kind of start, I was worried that I wasn't going to like this at all. Thank chuff I was wrong!

These were my initial knee-jerk thoughts after reading the opening chapters:

The small problem I have is that ‘Finley’s’ sounds like a very Irish pub.. like the leagues of them you find in Tenerife (what is it with Tenerife and Irish bars?) but rather than the obligatory Celtic pattern on the outside, it instead described more cliché England? But then, that might be the point. I’ve never be

My Review:
This book was so good...OMG! I started it on a Saturday morning when I had a million and one things to get done, not thinking that I would get sucked in as quickly as I did, but this story grabbed me and didn't let go. So good!

Harley left her abusive, controlling fiance in the middle of the night after drugging him. She hopped on a bus going across the country and randomly chose where she got off. Her first stroke of good luck was wandering into an authentic Irish pub where she befrien

Well, up until the end of the book, I had been considering giving this half a star more, but once the killer is confirmed, I couldn't justify it.

Possess is about a girl named Harley, who is a perpetual damsel in distress, who eats a lot, sleeps a lot, hurts herself a lot and also works at a pub with some Irish-folk after having dramatically escaped an abusive ex.

I was under the impression, with the name of the book, how the book started, and the paranormal content, that this book was going to fo

Meh. So this book started great. I thought we had a winner. I was actually terrified in the first "haunted" seen in the apartment. Then things got repetitive. The same hauntings in the same way happened, and it just got old.

I liked Harley enough. She was pretty kick butt, and likable. The situation with her ex was a bit predictable. I knew how that was going to turn out right after the first couple of chapters.

The book just wasn't mysterious enough for me. I also ha a hard time continuing at t

The apartment deal was too good to be true.

Harley Martin was on the run from her physically abusive fiancé—Jackson Donning, whose wealth from shady business dealings made him a powerfully dangerous man to cross. Seeking anonymity and a fresh start, Harley randomly fled to Midtown, a college town in New England that was worlds away from her trouble in Louisiana.

Harley doesn’t believe in ghosts.

Alone in an unfamiliar town, Harley had to immediately find work and lodging. Her luck se
Sometimes you just find a jewel. I got this book for free from Amazon and one day I was on Audible doing a comparison of kindle books to audios. That's where you can get an audio for much cheaper if you have the kindle book already. Anyway, the audio was for 1.99 so I thought that wasn't so bad since I got the book for free and I had never heard o the author before. Glad that I did!

This is one awesome book. I love the authors writing style. She has just enough detail without it being a lot of fl

Harley runs away from a bad relationship and ends up in Midtown, Rhode Island. She quickly gets a job and an apartment too. The only thing about her apartment is that it’s haunted by its last occupant Brody Walsh. To make everything more interesting, the pub owner where she works, along with the waitress that helps her get the job were friends with Brody. She very quickly gets all tangled up with what happened to Brody, as his ghost is pushing her to find the truth as well.

Overall, I thought this book was a fantastic read. There were so many different things I never thought would happen in the book. I thought it was a slow start, but as I read on, I managed to figure it out. I thought about what would happen near the end and I was right. One character was behind it all and I was right all along.I can't wait to read book #2. Read. Like/love. Enjoy.

Let me start by saying that Chapter 1 had me so full of emotions that it was crazy! I was shouting, hooting, cringing, and laughing! AND WE STILL HAVE 37 MORE CHAPTERS TO GO!!!

Jackson Donnings is an entitled little prick and made my skin crawl and blood boil! I have met many Jackson-like people in my life and have often envisioned a cruel fate for such men. After the first chapter you would think that my hate for Jackson would be bountiful….boy was I wrong. Just wait, you’ll see what I mean late
Harley has had enough! One beating too many from her fiancé and so one evening during dinner, she drugs him, grabs her things, some of his money, and leaves his house while he lays unconscious on the floor.
And just a bus ride later she arrives in Midtown where she decides to start a new life.

It seems that for the first time in a long time Harley has some luck again:
She is offered a job as a waitress at the Irish pub she visits shortly after arriving in Midtown.
And the renting of an apartment is

Wow this is not what I was gone expect when I started to read this book, this is the first book that I rad from this author, and Holy Hell I love it, this book suck me in from the first line to the last one.

This story is full of mysteries, drama, some hot sex scene, and some romance, this book had me guessing through the entire book, I kept asking my self who is it, how are they related but you get to find all that out and Woow you will be s

Wow! That was my reaction when I finished the book. It’s simply awesome. The writing style is great and I really enjoyed it a lot. Here we got only Harley’s POV who is the main lead and we got to share her experiences and the journey that she made through rough paths filled with dangers. I loved the detailed descriptions that the author provided here and the actions scenes are swoon worthy, don’t mind my language because I love action. Coming to the main interest of this book is the haunted flat

First, let me start out by telling you what I look for in a 5 star read. I need a book that takes me to that other place where you forget you are reading, and you get so caught up in the story that you see it in pictures and no one around you can get your attention because you are so engrossed in a story. Kind of like what happens to you in a movie theater when you are in to the movie.
I really liked the spooky factor in this book. But it also has romance and suspense to boot. The story opens wit

This is a different kind of book and one that I normally don't read however the author had me hooked and I continued reading and love the story!

Harley escapes and makes it to Midtown - she finally had the courage to leave her abusive fiancée and she finds an apartment that's cheap with a job as well. Harley believes she will be able to move on and start a new life. She was wrong - things started happening in her apartment and she finds out that the guy

Harley deals with alot of bad stuff at the start of this book, and as she reaches her snapping point, she drugs her fiance and runs. She has no idea where she heading, she wants to disappear. She jumps on a bus and leaves everything behind.
The bus arrives at Midtown, where Harley gets off and finds herself a hotel. She intends to find herself a job and somewhere to live. after checking into the hotel and freshening up, she asks at reception where she can grab something to eat and drink. The hote

When I first started this, I was afraid it was going to come across as a Lifetime made-for-TV train wreck with a too-stupid-to-live heroine, the perfect hero, and the dastardly villain. Couldn't be further from the truth. The story was engaging and well-paced. I had trouble putting it down.

Harley's character was fresh, likable, and sympathetic. I wanted to eat Nolan up with a spoon. Aggie and Angus were precious, as was little Remy. I found them to be well-rounded, with flaws and quirks that ma

Just when I was beginning to get bored with reading, due to several weeks of books that I did not enjoy this pulled me back in. When I realized I was growing bored with reading, I felt like this would be the author to change that and WOW was I right!! I started this when I was supposed to be going to bed 'soon', hours later I'd moved onto Book 2 in this series as I now have a new addiction. I'm now sleep deprived but it's totally worth it.

Completely unable to put this book down I was addicted to

I got this free through Amazon and I am super glad I did not pay for it! It started out okay until you realized the dialect Scottish/Irish was inconsistent and at points ridiculous. Also the more you read the harder all the errors are to overlook. The concept was good: girl escapes abusive relationship and winds up in a haunted apartment... But then you add the abusive ex showing up predictably at the end, the battle ready Irish/Scottsman eager to defend this stranger's honor because he has the ...more
Don't let the hot chocolate spiked with irish cream fool you. Nor the steamy romance that will melt snow once it starts going. OH! and the little orange kitten? Nope... don't let that fool you either. As soon as you do, WHAM, the author smacks you with a 2x4 and you are panting at the thrills this book will give you.

Harley Martin is running for her life. Literally. Hoping off the bus she hopes has stopped in the least likely place to look for her in, she takes her first deep breath in a long whi

Great read about a girl named Harley who finally decides to stand up for herself after being in an abusive relationship. Harley packs up and moves away to a random new city. We watch her get on her feet and then chaos breaks loose. Great story line that was packed with action, adventure, romance, ghosts and second chances. I enjoyed all of the characters, normally the female plays the victim and never stands up for herself. However Harley truly does take control of her own life. I loved Nolan an ...more
This was probably a 4.5 star read for me. I'm going to round this up to a 5 star since the author was gracious enough to offer this as a freebie. This easily would have been a solid 5 star read for me had it not been so farfetched (I don't want to throw in spoilers so I'm not going elaborate, it just came down to knowing the same people across the US, not likely). That being said, however, it was still a wonderful read. It was exciting and impossible to put down! One of the best freebies I've re ...more

Uhhhh...where to begin? I guess I'll start with the good, the story is okay. That's about it. The book drags on far too long, and to top it off the ending lacks clarity. So instead of dragging out the beginning and middle and novel, more time should have been put into adequately ending the book. I hate it when shit doesn't make sense at the end! It's quite annoying. If the book had ended with proper explanations, maybe I wouldn't have hated this book.

I was hooked from the first few pages. It doesn't happen often but it did with Harley's story. Her beginning was extremely hard to read but once you get past that there's lots of action. I won't reveal everything Harley and her new friends have to ordeal and what's revealed. But I will say there's a lot of eating in this book and it was tough at the onset to deal with the dialogue written phonetically for the Scottish/Irish characters.

My Review Of The Possess

Even though there is a love story in the sub plot of this tale, there is so much drama and suspense that I did not mind the relationship angle. I especially enjoyed the paranormal aspect of this tale. The characters were well developed and I really liked and cared about what happened to them. I would reread this book again.

I love me some Irish men!!

This storyline was pretty interesting once you've seen the whole picture, but the mystery and suspense was awesome page by page. I loved the characters, the red hair, the Scottish and Irish descendants, the love and giddy, blossoming romance. The drama! And the horror T_T

Definitely recommend!!!
