What's it take for an FBI agent and the FBI's #1 wanted cyber criminal to have a date night? Why just a sinister meeting between the Chinese mafia, the Triad and the Yakusa on a remote island country. Ronnie will have to bring all of her toys to bear to get them out of this explosive situation
Another short story about Ronnie and Zach, the Robin Hood Hacker and the FBI agent. In this one they try to get a "date" while under surveillance by most government agencies, and end up busting a meeting between the Triads and the Yakuza. Of course they manage to escape,
I liked this short story more, in part because the action and their adventures are what makes the story interesting, and I love the dynamic between the two of them. Since I don't know much about the place where the action is taking place, I don't know how wrong the author got it, so I didn't have a chance to get mad at it.
While the prequel to Encrypted left me wanting a lot more, I think this bridge between Encrypted and Cipher did more for the story. Like the rest, it takes place in the heat of action of a hack with a very messy get-away. What it does right is show the lengths that Ronnie and Zach are willing to go to not be found out by the rest of the FBI. Certain things remain unclear, but that is why this is just a bridge and not a full on book. While Hacked left me a little disappointed, Binary left me wanting more...so onto Cipher I go!
Binary is a fun, heart-stopping short story. This is my first introduction to the characters and I love ‘em! Ronnie totally cracked me with her arsenal of skills and being directionally challenged. Her side kick and love interest were equally quirky. Story was easy to follow and is an entertaining way to spend a quick sit and read.
I received a copy of the book to review from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is in the series of Betrayed. This was the first series that I read by Ms. Carolyn McCray. I was instantly hooked. I couldn't get enough of her writings. This particular series is extremly controversial. So be prepared to scratch your head and re-think history. It made me honestly think, "what if!"
Quick bridge story between "Encrypted" and "Cipher". Ronnie, the Robin Hood Hack is trying to redistribute millions in laundered money but she stumbles into a very tricky situation. Added to the mix is "date night" with Zach, her handsome FBI boyfriend and more cool prototype gadgets from Quirk, her partner in crime make for a very thrilling heist. On to Cipher!
I forgot this is a bridge story and not a real book...wasn't paying attention to the ebook bindup of all five. That's okay...I'm still working through The Complete Sherlock Holmes, which is actually nine books bound up and not the one that I'll eventually log. Anyway, if this and the beginning of Cipher are any indication, I think I'll grow tired of Ms. McCray soon.
Another most interesting adventure for main character and her almost romance partner. Just had to read in one sitting because author has ability to draw me into story with ease. Find yourself in need of a good read you will not be disappointed by this entry or any book in series.
This "in between" book, (Between Encrypted and Cipher bridge short) is great! McCray brings her A game with a short story featuring our Beloved Ronnie and her FBI man. Be sure to grab this one!
love the Robin Hood Hacker series. I have all of the books on my ipad ready to go. Caroln McCray is a great suspense novelist. The action moves fast so the story line keeps moving forward.
