The past will always find you.

Jos Archer was the girl with the perfect life; until the night it all came crashing down around her. Now, nine months later, she still hasn't begun to pick up the pieces. Even transferring to a new college and living under the watchful eye of her older sister, Renee, isn't enough to help her feel normal again.

And then s

A fresh start was irrelevant when the dark things in your past were always following you.

Jos has changed. She was the perfect student, perfect daughter, perfect sister. But now, everything has different. No one knows why, but Jos does. She’s lost someone important to her and she can’t help but blame herself. Her mother sends

Dusty and Jos both have secrets. But will their secrets bring them closer together or tear them apart?

Things that irritated me: Renee and her over controlling behaviour was suffocating. Jos acted like a moody teenager and I didnt feel any growth in her character. I found all the side characters all sickenly happy, considering you have 3 couples all living together.

For a 3apart?

Jos Archer used to be the perfect girl, perfect grades, bright future; it was all mapped out for her until it wasn't. When an event has her spiraling out of control her sister, Renee steps in. Now, for those that don’t remember Renee from My Favorite Mistake, she was Taylor’s friend and Roommate.

Being forced to leave her college in New Hampshire to move in with Renee and the gang (Yep, they are all there – Taylor, Hunter, Paul, Mace, Renee and Darah) in Maine and transfer schools. This way Ren

This is book 2 in Chelsea Cameron's My Favorite Mistakes series and I will admit I really liked book one, but I was not completely blown away by this one.

Jos Archer suffers loss and changes her very being. A one-time straight A classy gal is now skipping class and "living on the edge." Enter very annoying and overbearing sister who brings her to Bangor Maine to live and attend a new school. Nothing is getting through to this sad and quite bitchy gal. Well, nothing that is until a

Setting: College
HEA: Yes
Love Triangle: No

Similar to the first book you are introduced to a the main character Jos who has a dark secret and isn't willing to share it. And that is where the mystery lay for the entire book; you keep reading thinking What happened?! For the Love of GOD tell me! But she doesn't and you don't figure it out for quite a while. Talk about frustrating.

What I loved about Jos is that similar to book 1 she was feisty, takes no sh!t and could definitely hold her own. I love a strong female lead and Jos had it locked do

A fresh start was irrelevant when the dark things in your past were always following you.

So I was a little disappointed when I realized that I didn't know either main character leading into this book. But it didn't take long for me to get over my disappointment because I easily become absorbed into Jocelyn and Dusty's secrets.

I loved how both characters are becoming a new person, trying to leave their past selves. What I wasn't expecting was for their pasts to be so interconnected.

Sadly, My Sweetest Escape did not live up to its predecessor for me. I didn't connect with the characters, and thought Jos was very mellow.

was so hoping it was going to follow Hunter and Taylor and everyone after they moved into the house. I loved those characters. My Favorite Mistake is one of my favorite college romance books...so I guess I was just hoping for more.
I just finished FOR REAL by this same author and thought it was just ok...didn't like it nearly as much as MY FAVORITE MISTAKE...so I'm not sure what I'll think about this next book.

Joscelyn has been shipped off by her mother to live with her sister Renee and her friends in Maine. Since starting college Jos has gone from being laser-focused on school and her future to partying with her friends. Nobody is more concerned by that than her sister Renee who now feels like she no longer knows the one sibling she is closest to. Living with her sister and her friends puts Jos under close scrutiny by all her housemates and a boy named Dusty keeps showing up at the house and around c ...more

”The truth is the most beautiful thing there is, because it’s the most real.”

I’ve been wanting to continue this series for a while and now I finally got the chance.
I didn’t know this would be about secondary characters but I loved it!
Tbh, I only connected with the story after a few chapters.. the beginning is a little slow and it took me a while to be interested in the story but after the middle it’s really good.

I love, love, loved My Favorite Mistake, so of course I had to read its sequel! This book had a similar plot and the same emotions as its predecessor, but it’s definitely a story by itself. My Sweetest Escape can be read as a standalone, however I loved My Favorite Mistake so I highly recommend reading it first. Plus, all the characters from the first one are here! Yay! I didn’t expect to see Taylor and Hunter again, but th

*I received a copy of this from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I honestly don't know why the author decided to create a sequel, but I would have been happier had My Favorite Mistake been a standalone. I mean, it is, but I could have done without this attempt at another story with most of the same characters. I ended up disliking the main character, and the relationship between her and Dusty wasn't played up enough and was quite boring.

Just like in the first story, I could not connect wi

I've been eagerly awaiting this book for over a year when I read the first book and fell in love with Hunter and Taylor's story. Maybe I just had expectations that were too high but while I enjoyed this book, it didn't leave much of a memorable mark on me.

Because it's been so long since I've read the first book, it took me a minute to remember who was with who and what role they played in this series. Eventually I figured everything out and it was blissful saili

4.5 stars- I really enjoyed this second book in the My Favourite Mistake series.

This second book this Jos’s story. Jos is the younger sister of Renee who featured in book 1. Nine months ago Jos was a different person, she was the perfect daughter, sister and student but something happened that changed Jos. Jos can’t help but blame herself for what happened but also refuses to open up to anyone about what happened to change her. Fed up with her new found attitude her parents send Jos

I was so excited that there was a follow-up to My Favorite Mistake. The connection to the first book is tenuous in the beginning, you do get to see the progression of the main couple, Taylor and Hunter (the highlight of the story) as the plot progresses.

Told in first person narrative from the perspective of, Jocelyn (Jos) who happens to be Renee’s younger sister. Always the quintessential good girl, until an incident makes Jos re-evaluate herself and her direction in

Another good story from Ms. Cameron. I loved the first book in this series and I was hoping for the second book to be more about Taylor and Hunter, but this one was prominently about Renee's little sister Joscelyn. No one in her family could figure her out. She was always the straight A student, the perfect one. Now she's out of control and her grades are slipping and her mother had pulled her out of school to transfer to Renee's college and she's off to live in Taylor and Hunter's house with th ...more

For those who follow my reviews closely, you’ll know that I’m a fan of Chelsea M. Cameron’s work. I’ve read a few of her other books, like My Favorite Mistake (the first in this two book “series”), and seem latch onto many of Cameron’s strengths when reading.

One of my favorite things about this book was the main character, Jos Archer. I think the author did a great job writing all of her characters, both main and secondary, for this book, but Jos was one of my favorites. I guess that’s no

Well, I liked he H, I can't say I was a fan of the heroine. In fact, she was a bit of an annoying bitch if I'm being honest. The book was okay. The only saving grace was the H, Dusty. If it were not for him, I would have given up and tossed it. He was very sweet, adorable and fun and for the life of me, I could not figure out what he saw in Little Miss Angsty Bitch. She was unnecessarily nasty to him for about 3/4 of the book before she started to let herself like him. She f
