From Stumbling Blocks to Stepping Stones: Help and Hope for Special Needs Kids

Rate this book
Shari Rusch was a learning-disabled child afflicted with brain damage at birth. Legally blind in one eye and challenged by motor coordination problems, health issues, a speech impediment, ADHD, dyslexia, and family issues, all the tests foretold a mediocre future at best. With the help of educators and a willingness to try, Shari succeeded beyond all expectations, becoming an honor student, a teacher, and a nationally recognized speaker on the topic of at-risk youth and special education students.

Oh WOW!!! This has to b in my top ten favorite books!!! Great message, great writing, awesome story!!! Absolutely love it!! I recommend this book to everyone including parents and teens who don't have any special needs children close or near to them. This book shows that even through hard circumstances and battles we all as humans face that the Lord Jesus will bring us through and that He will give us the strength to overcome! Well worth ur time!!

The sentence structure left something to be desired, but the message was very good. I have struggled with a daughter with learning disabilities and this book gave me hope and encouragement. It was amazing to see what the author overcame and how she succeeded in her life. She had such self-determination and perserverance!

This was a great book. It was interesting to see how a woman with learning disablilities was able to overcome them. The most entertaining parts of the book were the chapters describing her early years in elementary school.

A great personal story of turning a disability into triumph. Author has an engaging writing style. Sometimes my heart broke for the child she was and her struggles at school and home. This book will give hope to parents with special-needs kids.

Amazing, true story. A must read for parents and teachers of special needs children. I've heard Shari Rusch Furnstahl speak and it's a miracle that she is such a powerful speaker and author after reading of her severe learning disabilities.
