This was the kind of book that I picked up having no idea what the story would hold. As I started reading it early in the morning on a Friday I immediately did not want to put it down. I was bummed I had to put the book down to go to my brother's wedding....okay the wedding was way more important but I was wishing it had been one of those lazy rainy days when you have nothing going on and you can curl up in your favorite chair and read a 'gripping' book all in one setting.

Though I didn't finish

First, let me say that Anita is the sweetest lady and won tons of points from me when she responded to my tweets about her book! I feel like an author who takes the time to respond to their fans are just awesome! Wouldn't you agree?

Why did I chose "Out of the Wilderness" well the hero was a Navy SEAL, enough said. No really, I wanted to read a Christian novel that I knew would be clean, had a christian message yet hopefully realistic about a Navy SEAL. I was curious what path the hero went on

An accidental adventure

This is no or typical story. I like the characters and all the complications they face. It is well written and held my attention all the way through to the end. I do plan to read any future book this author writes.

Enjoyed the story. Gray who is on a training mission comes across a van with 4 sleeping females. They are out of fuel n lost. He takes them to their original destination but takes 4 days hiking in the state park. He treats them as army cadets in survival mode. "No" is not an option you follow orders of the leader. Then back to town n reality of a custody issue with inlaws who seem to have the upper hand but Gray's boss is intervening so Sophie may get to keep the girls. Sophie's lawyer certainly ...more

I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one in the series. I liked the interaction with the kids and think Anita Greene did a great job with the sibling rivalry that would naturally occur even in the midst of a crisis. There's plenty of conflict-- Romantic tension, sibling rivalry, and the challenge of being lost in the wilderness... Then there's a twist and a new challenge in the second half of the book. Kept me interested and turning pages.

Not at all what I expected. Randomly came across this book and gave it a go as a quick weekend read. Story kept me interested and I found myself loving the characters involved and their relationships with each other.

An avid reader at a young age, Anita was a teen when she decided to try her hand at writing stories. She started out re-writing the TV episodes of HERE COMES THE BRIDES. What would now be called 'fan fiction' filled a notebook. She collected and read all Emily Loring's romances. A grand feat at a time when there was no internet to aid in the search. She also enjoyed many of Grace Livingston Hill's ...more
