More is better! Natalie Marshall’s goofy monsters made their debut in a book about monsters and manners—Monster Be Good! This time, it’s monsters and math, as every monster-member of this funny, grumpy, not-too-scary gang counts jelly beans, teddy bears, apples, donuts, toys, and even kisses. What do they all have in common? They all want ONE MORE! As each monster gets his ...more

Greedy monsters need one more of what they have. It teaches adding and has nice pictures and rhythm, but I wish at the end they would have addressed the greed issue.

Recommends it for: Ages: 3 - 6
A counting book! With monsters! The little guy liked thought it was funny that some of the monsters were wearing shoes without any clothing while others had clothing but no shoes. He's 4. Shoes are a bit of an obsession right now. He did pretty good with the addition up until 6 plus 1. I think the word problem aspect of the rhyme confused him for those "higher" numbers. He's used to us just asking what's "7+1" not "...candy-loving monster says: 'I have 7 jelly beans. I need one more!'"

This is a cute counting book for young kids with vibrantly coloured illustrations and a fun theme. I think young children would like following along with this book and learning about numbers with the simple, yet effective pattern this book uses.

Parents, grandparents and early education teachers should have a look. This book is a lot of fun (even for the adults.)

Thanks to Edelweiss and Blue Apple Books for access to this title.

Love the counting aspect of this book. The addition of one more keeps kids interested in where it will go next, and the rhyming text was fun to read. I think this is an excellent read for those learning to count.

Helpful book for beginner counters. With each page, a monster needs to add one more thing to his collection of things (strawberries, kisses, beach balls, etc.)

Good for preschool storytimes.
