Virgin River is abuzz with the news that a stranger bought the town's abandoned church on eBay. The buyer, a young widowed reverend, is a little like the building itself: in need of some loving care.
Noah Kincaid arrives ready to roll up his sleeves and revitalize his new purchase, but he's going to need some help. An ad in the local paper brings an improbable candidate hi

One of the best in the series yet. And surprisingly, this one could be read as a stand-alone as there were no story arc's playing out in this book. Best yet, we get plenty of time with Noah and Ellie. I think they got 80% of the book. I also have to give this book credit for one of my favorite marriage proposals. Lets just say funny and touching!

Forbidden Falls is a wonderful romantic story of a young single paster in a new town who finds love with a woman from the other side of the tracks (so

Loved Ellie and Noah! Laughed every time she called him Your Worship or Your Reverence. Who knew a pastor could be so hot and passionate!

Ellie's ex Arnie was a real weirdo!

At first Vanni's reaction to Hannah bothered me, but to be honest if I were in the same situation I'd be upset, too.

I want more updates on Dan and Cheryl. Maybe the next book?

Can't get enough of this series and Therese Plummer's narration is wonderful as usual!
5 stars – Contemporary Romance

Sitting down with a Virgin River novel is like eating your mom’s or grandma’s home cooking.....just pure comfort food for the soul!

I’m a huge fan of this series, but I’ll be honest and admit that I wasn’t too keen on a story with a minister for a romantic hero. I was worried that Carr might lean too heavily on the religious element...ala Catherine Anderson, which isn’t really my preference when reading romance books. Well, I’m happy to say that Carr blew me away yet
Fantastic! Wasn't sure how the author was going to mix a widowed pastor and an exotic dancer--with two kids--with this series, but she did it. In typical Virgin River style, previous characters popped in and out or were mentioned and briefly updated. Even the puppies from the anthology "That Holiday Feeling" that included Virgin River, #8, "Under the Christmas Tree" had a nice--surprising--update. :-)

Forbidden Falls starts about 7 months after the previous story, in July and only lasts to Octobe

I liked this book a lot, but I'm not quite sure I 5-star-LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT like a few of my GR friends. It was definitely an enjoyable book, though, and a great addition to the Virgin River series.

This book is the 9th story in the Virgin River series. This book could *probably* be read as a standalone without much trouble. The storyline is fairly independent in and of itself and what continuing storylines there are make sense without having read past books.
4 Stars

I loved the main couple in this book. They're my favorite in the series.

These books are the perfect "getting into the holiday spirit" type of read. They have a quaint, almost Hallmark-movie type feel to them that leaves me feeling uplifted. That said, I don't think I'd have the patience to read them, as they're not as couple centered as I prefer in my romances. However, I've loved listening to them as I go about my day.

After having read the last three books in the Virgin River series and being highly disappointed (well Rick's book wasn't a total loss but still not up to par), I was ready and prepared to feel the same about this 1st book in the 3rd trilogy about Virgin River. I was actually pleasantly surprised and read it in one day.

This book could realistically be a standalone or read if you skipped the 2nd trilogy altogether, although a portion of the story would make alot more sense if

This book took me by surprise a little, but in a good way. I wasn’t sure if I liked it or what was going on. But Ellie burrows herself into your heart.

Ellie is in the fight of her life keeping getting her children back from her ex-husband who isn’t kind. Circumstances have the children living with him and not with her. She is fighting to change this.

In comes the new pastor of the church he bought on ebay. He is looking for his own congregation. And he comes across this wo

I had to put Forbidden Falls down yesterday after getting about 160 pages into it by gritting my teeth (I then skimmed the rest). I've enjoyed the previous Virgin River books, except maybe not so much Second Chance Pass. But even that book didn't make me mad! Forbidden Falls is...YUCK! Tired, overused plot with huge holes in it, characters who don't make sense, married couples who keep big secrets or make major life-changing decisions without consulting spouse, women who are supposedly super int ...more
My goodreads friends wrote very eloquent reviews of this book so I will just write a few thoughts I had about "Forbidden Falls." I wasn't sure I would like this storyline, but I should have known Robyn Carr would not disappoint me. I had to remind myself that these are just characters in a book and not real people! I loved Noah and Ellie and they have now tied for first place with my other favorite characters of Preacher and Paige (I love Mel and Jack too so I guess this will be a three way tie) ...more

"4.5 stars" As always, it was a pleasure to be back in Virgin River, visiting with all my favorite characters in my favorite little town. Since Robyn Carr wrapped up most of the loose ends in the last book, Forbidden Falls was almost like starting over. All the main characters from past books were here in the background, but she brought some new characters to town and beefed up the roles of a couple of existing characters, while leaving more focus on the main hero and her

The ninth book in Robyn Carr's Virgin River series. It's been a while since I've visited Virgin River and it was a nice to return finally. Noah Kincaid has come to Virgin River to start a church. He bought the old abandoned church and is fixing it up. But he needs help and he decides to find an assistant. She comes in the form of exotic dancer, Ellie Baldwin. A tough beautiful woman who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. Ellie needs a respectable job so she can regain custody of her children. ...more

Once again Robyn Carr makes me cry. And laugh. It's good.

A widowed pastor and a former stripper restore the old, abandoned church in Virgin River. There's more to it than that, of course, with child custody and self-esteem issues but it has a very sweet romance.

This one was kind of a change-up coming off of Paradise Valley (was that the last one?) which focused pretty strongly on three different romances. This entire story focused mostly on Noah and Ellie. We had a side story about Vanni and P
This is the 9th installment in the Virgin River series. I've read all of them and been a little disappointed in the last few (minus the Christmas stories) because they seemed to get too dark and tried to include too many stories in one book. I was actually a bit concerned about reading this one because it involves a minister and I know that all the VR books involve sex. I was concerned about how this would play out and I feel that it is the only real downfall of the book for me.

What a great book to start off the new year! It was nice that majority of the novel was focused on Noah and Ellie's lives. Book 4, I believe was the last time this happened. Most would call Noah and Ellie an odd couple just from hearing their occupations but they fit together perfectly. A great pace with their relationship as well. From the work relationship to genuine friends to something more. There was also a light banter going on between them throughout the book, a quote from Ellie to best d ...more

Forbidden Falls introduces Noah and Ellie. Noah is a preacher who buys an abandoned church on Ebay. Ready to start his ministries he heads to Virgin River and against his better judgement he hires Ellie, a single mother who is in desperate need of a job. An unlikely romance develops and there is alot of drama.

What a great read. Two people who are total opposites have so much in common. I loved the way the author showed how the characters dealt with Ellie's situation. My heart went out to her. Sh

First of all, I want to say that I loved this book. Noah and Ellie were a terrific couple and I enjoyed learning about them and watching them find each other as they worked through the problems with Ellie's ex. However, the one thing that kept running through my mind as I read the book was the sense that the author had changed her story-telling style. What I've truly loved about the Virgin River series, and the Grace Valley books too for that matter, was the feeling I got of being part of the co ...more

I love ELLIE.... she is such a fun loving character that you can't help but to feel uplifted by her. I love the fact that she just states what is really going on. There is no middle ground. She is who she is and will say what she thinks, feels and so on. It was so refreshing. And Noah...

What a great couple - I loved both Ellie and Noah all the way through! Ellie is absolutely amazing - she has all sorts of reasons to complain about her rotten life and to expect others to give her a break, for heaven's sake, but she just keeps on working and coping and caring for her two kids. And Noah needed so badly to be a minister with his own congregation that he used his inheritance to buy, repair and refurbish the old church in Virgin River. How these two discovered friendship and love al ...more

Forbidden Falls is one of my favourite stories in the Virgin River series so far. It was like coming home, an old friend, chicken soup and warm, fluffy socks in winter all rolled into one. When she's good, that's what Carr's writing brings me, and why I keep coming back for more.

That's not to say that this was in any way a boring, comfortable read - it wasn't. This book was surprising and challenging, fun and sexy. If you have any doubts that a pastor can make a sexy, compelling hero, t

I was happy to find that this book concentrated on the two major characters. I was uncertain whether to even try this book since the last one tried to cram in too many characters and story lines so that none were done justice. This one was much more focused. We did get to see some of the old characters where their stories were pertinent to the main characters here. I do like when new characters interact with previous characters but only if it directly affects the main characters. Once I've read ...more

"Forbidden Falls" by Robyn Carr was another good read of this author's 'Virgin River Series.' This series was of Noah and Ellie. Another awesome book! I just loved this story about Ellie and Virgin River Pastor, Nick Kincaid. Ellie was such a lovable person, with the most positive attitude, who had real bad luck when it came to men. Her kids were the most important thing to her and with the help of Nick and her new friends of Virgin River she was able to get her kids back from her ex-husband and learn the truth of his identity.

Vanni and Paul were faced with a huge challenge of their own. As soon as they decided to finall
