Shamrock Falls #2

Luck of the Draw

Rate this book
Rowan McKinley isn’t looking for one wild night while vacationing in Vegas, but she gets it anyway when she meets professional poker player—and professional ladies’ man—Breck Wilder. Breck’s easygoing charm and lighthearted banter draw in the reserved Rowan, and though she’s always dreamed of the kind of forever love her best friends Sidney and Kade share, she’ll settle for one night with the charismatic player.

After their crazy one-night stand, Breck never expected to see the mysterious redhead again. So when he shows up at a Shamrock Falls B&B looking to get away for a few weeks and Rowan answers the door, he’s floored. Breck’s rolling-stone lifestyle and ill-fated history with women means he’s not interested in anything long-term. But the longer he stays at the B&B, the more he considers dropping the poker face and putting all his cards on the table…for Rowan.

Kelley has been writing for as long as she can remember. She won her first writing contest in third grade for an essay she wrote on, “Tomorrow’s Leaders on the Move”. Like dreams sometimes do, they fell to the background for a while. She married her best friend, worked full time, and started her family. In 2004 Kelley, her husband and their new baby girl made a move from Oregon to Southern California and that’s when everything changed. As a stay-at-home mom for the first time, her passion for writing flared to life again.

Things haven’t been the same since.

With two incredible daughters, an awesome husband and her days spent writing what she loves, Kelley considers herself the luckiest girl in the world. She still resides in sunny Southern California, where she loves spending time with her family and sneaking away to the bookstore with her laptop.

Also on What I'm Reading

First off let me just put this out there, you know that old saying that states, "Whatever happens in Vegas... stays in Vegas." Just remember that is a complete utter lie. Seriously, what happens there can haunt you later. I'm sure I can find examples to prove my case, but I'm not. I'm sure you can find them on your own. Anyways. I'm actually going to tell what I thought about Luck of the Draw by Kelly Vitollo, since I spent half the night reading. Seriously, I couldn't put the sucker down.
If you didn't know it starts off with a guy and girl, and one crazy night in Vegas. Hence that the whole Vegas intro. Instead of having the guy fleeing the scene, we have the young lady in question running away hoping to never to see the guy again.

Rowan McKinley never thought she would see Wilder ever again, but he seems to magically appear on hear doorstep a month later. So much for forgetting Vegas and keeping it there, right? Well, keeps getting better and better when she faints on Wilder.

Breck Wilder never thought he would encounter the one-night stand in Shamrock Falls when he needed a break from his crazy life as a professional poker player. However, here she is the owner of Destiny Knocks B&B; talk about fate.

In all honesty it wouldn't be a complete Vegas story without an accidental pregnancy or marriage. Since she snuck out without a ring on her finger, it must be a baby on the way. Now the trouble to tell Wilder what happen. This should be interesting.

Absolutely loved this story. First off, who doesn't love a story that starts off in Vegas, you know it's going to be interesting. Secondly, I love how Rowan debates on when to tell him that she was pregnant. I can understand her reluctancy since his life-style doesn't scream stable and he out-right said he didn't want to be tied down. It's a scary thing.

Overall, I loved the emotional roller coaster ride of this story. Seriously, watching Rowan get to know Breck and seeing how she was going to tell him about the baby was amazing and well writing. Plus, waiting for the other shoe to drop and to see what he would do. The build-up was amazing. I'm so glad I got a chance to read this story. Utterly amazing and I really didn't go to bed until really late finishing the book. If you are looking for something new to read you might to try Luck of the Draw, it might the roller coaster read your looking for.

I absolutely loved Lucky Break so I bought Luck of the Draw on release day. I knew this would be a read in one day kind of thing. I couldn't wait to get back to Shamrock Falls.

We got to know Rowan in Luck Break. She is a best friend and Bed & Breakfast owner. She's single. Life overall has been good but she has a new business and no one to share it with. She's a good girl really. When she meets Breck Wilder she decides to give herself one wild night. She gets more than she planned on.

Breck Wilder is pretty funny. I loved his sense of humor and how he kept most things light. But, when it counted he was right there front and center. Dream guy! I loved his whole reaction at the end. It felt real. I love that ti didn't even cross his mind to shirk from his responsibilities and how he was going to make things work.

I even loved the not so main characters! I'm crazy for Jace and Betsy's story. I had dreams about them last night when I went to bed. How would their story go? What changes will take place that make Jace finally notice Betsy? I'm a lot like Betsy and I really want to know her story. Jace is pretty hot to me too!

This is a really cute story. Rowan and Breck get to know each other and become friends. I loved romance stories where the couple are friends first. That's the way it should be in my eyes. I'm not a fan of insta love and you'll get none of that here. You see real character development. Real, everyday people falling in love. What's not to like?!

If you are looking for a clean romance with real characters, then head to Shamrock Falls. You'll meet friends and have a little love affair of your own. Luck of the Draw is worth your time! This is my new favorite series!

I fell in love with the town of Shamrock Falls with the first of this series Lucky Break. You first meet and love Rowan there because she is best friends with Sydney and Kade. In this book you find out about what makes Rowan tick and how she puts up walls so she is not left behind. You also get to meet Breck - be still my beating heart. He is not only gorgeous he is also super fun and charming.

He too has many walls up but even through both of their walls they find a way to become closer with Breck's constant joking around. Their connection was great straight away because it wasn't just the physical chemistry that bonded them but their connection as two people.

Once Breck let's his guard down he ends loving just as fiercely as he plays poker. His heart is kind and generous. Rowan so deserves this type of love where she is put first. Now she can love her family the way she always wanted to be loved. Rowan and Breck are perfect for each other.

This was a great book and it is a great series I can't wait to read more because it looks like the town of shamrock falls is becoming a hotspot of true love. Who will be next?

Rowan is in Las Vegas for a convention before she goes home to Shamrock Falls to open her bed and breakfast. She is feeling a little lost and lonely since she was supposed to meet her brother and her stood her up. When Breck Wilder, a professional poker player, tries to pick her up, she is very uninterested but strangely charmed by this handsome guy who can make her laugh. One thing lead to another and they end up in bed together. Rowan sneaks out after they make love planning never to see him again and wondering what she was thinking.

As is the case in romance novels, Breck shows up at her B & B when he needs to get away from it all. Seems he went to college with one of Rowan's friends from town and get a recommendation from him about a place to stay. The first thing Rowan does when she sees him is faint. He is very much the gentleman and insists she see a doctor.

Rowan is surprised to learn that she is going to have a baby and just doesn't know how she will tell Breck. When she feels him out, she quickly learns that he has no interest in settling down, having a relationship or ever having kids. This leaves Rowan with quite a dilemma which becomes even more complicated when they spend time together and begin to fall in love. Falling in love makes Rowan feel guilty and makes Breck confused. He isn't about to take a chance on love since he was betrayed by the woman he married when he was nineteen.

The dialog was witty. The relationships were well-written. Rowan is lonely and feels a little jealous that her friends in town are building their own relationships. I liked the friendships between the characters. Rowan had a lot more support than she thought she had as witnessed by the number of people who warned Breck not the break her heart.

This was a quick read. It was fast-paced, filled with emotion, and not at all explicit. Romance readers will enjoy meeting Breck and Rowan and watching them work out their relationship.

I really liked this book. I adore Kelley Vitollo both as Kelley and as Nyare Dawn so I knew I was going to like this I just didn't know how much..I wasn't overly fond of the first book in this series because I didn't like Sydney all that much but this book....It blew me away

I couldn't put I down I had to finish it so I read way past "bedtime"
I truly did love it!

I never cry reading a book! but some books has given me a big lump in my throat and this is one of them...and this is by no means a sad book or a very dramatic book nor is it filled with angst but the parts where their vulnerability is shown are so well written I could feel it, I could feel their heart trumping, eyes burning, hands shaking and throats constricting.

But I didn't just get a lump in my throat it also made me giggle and smile and go naawww ♥

The characters have great chemistry and I love their banter and flirting...

can't wait for the next book about Jace and Betsy

I have read most of Nyrae Dawn’s Young Adult books, but so far I hadn’t tried any of her adult books that she writes under the name of Kelley Vitollo. I saw the synopsis for Luck of the Draw and I instantly knew it was something I wanted to read. I still haven’t read the first book, but since they’re companion novels, I’m sure it’s okay. (Side note: I will read the first one when I have time.) This book was so much fun and so adorable that I read it in mere hours and felt all bubbly inside afterwards.

“You’re not that good looking.”

“I beg to differ and how many fingers?” Her eyes looked normal, but a little glassy. A smile tilted her lips, but he didn’t think she realized it. No, this woman wanted to be pissed at him, but she couldn’t—which should be his first clue to get the hell out of there. A feisty woman like her would be nothing but trouble. A losing hand, if you will, and Breck didn’t lose anymore.

“I mean, maybe a seven out of ten.”

“Nope. Only three fingers out of five. Looks like I’m going to have to carry you.”

With this, her eyes widened. She didn’t want to be in his arms and he somehow had a feeling it was because she’d enjoyed it there last time too much.

“No! I was rating you.”

This time Breck held up ten fingers. “Ten,” she said.

He winked at her. “That’s more like it. I knew you thought I was sexy.”

The story follows the life of Rowan McKinley in Shamrock Falls. She is surrounded by friends, but hasn’t got a family she can rely on. She dreams about one, though – a life with her future husband and children. At the beginning of the novel Row does something completely out of her element: she has a one night stand with a sexy poker player in Las Vegas. Or so she thinks, because no less than a month Breck Wilder arrives on her doorstep to stay in her Bed and Breakfast for whole six weeks. How can she survive this? She has no idea.

The concept was fun fun fun, but the characters were what really made the story. I liked Rowans stubbornness and even though I don’t have that kind of life experience, I could still relate to her. She takes BS from no one and wants to do everything on her own. I love that independence factor about her. Breck, on the other hand, is really great with people, charming, oh-so-sexy. However, Breck is a player and he has no plans for settling down. The chemistry between them was so enjoyable that I couldn’t help but root for them and sometimes even out loud, lol.

I really, really loved that even though it was an adult book, it felt like a family movie of two adults. I took this book, cuddled with it in front of a fire place, drank hot chocolate and smiled practically the whole way through. It wasn’t all erotica and sex, which seems to be the trend of adult books these days. No, it was a story about two unlikely people meeting their match and trying to deal with their inner issues. It’s a pretty short book with great pacing, enjoyable characters and a meaningful story. If you want an adorable fast read that makes you feel all warm and giggly inside, pick this one up!

5 stars - Definitely belongs in the Bliss line!

I really am a fantasy reader. Love the paranormal and such but contemporary is becoming a new favorite. But the only way a contemporary works for me, though, is if I love the characters. No one does incredible characters like Kelly Vitollo (Unless it's Nyrae Dawn doing the same thing in YA books - same author, heehee).

This series has a cute little home town. It has Washington State rain storms. It has interesting situations and fresh ideas but it's the characters I love. I loved Kade and Sidney in the first book Lucky Break. And I love Breck and Rowan in Luck of the Draw.

I'll start with Breck, because I always like the guy the best! Breck has been hurt before and he's given up on women for the long run. He lives on the road playing poker and he likes it that way. Besides all that, though, he's this great guy. He generous and kind. He loves taking care of Rowan, when she'll let him. He loves to have fun and his sexy smile can melt hearts. If Rowan can get past his broken heart, she'll find the best guy ever.

Rowan is this feisty, independent type that really just wants to be loved. Having never felt like she's belonged, she's afraid of losing things. She's attracted to Breck, who wouldn't be, but she needs more than a fling with him. If Breck gives her a chance, she could heal his broken heart.

I did have some stress moments when I wanted to kick both these characters in the backside for making stupid choices. But that's like life, right? We screw up and we hope that those that care about us love us enough to understand. I care enough about these characters that I'm so hoping there's a book 3 for this series just so I can get a glimpse of them again. And dang it, it's time Jace got his act together! Hope he stars in book 3.

It was a quick read for me. This is a Sunday afternoon quickie kinda book! Gonna love it, truly.

Kelley Vitollo is the pen name for Nyrae Dawn. Luck Of The Draw is the second book in her Shamrock Falls series. You can find my review of the first book, Lucky Break. I had really enjoyed Lucky Break and I'd really enjoyed reading about all the characters in Shamrock Falls then so it was great to comeback to them and read Rowan's story.

We'd met Rowan in Lucky Break. She is best friends with Kade and Sidney. One night in Vegas she isn't looking for anyone when Breck Wider professional poker player and ladies man finds her. There is an instant connection between them. You can feel the sparks. All this leads to an unexpected one night stand between them.

Rowan was a really nice character. She was sensible and smart. She's always dreamed of finding the forever kind of love but life hasn't been so good to her. She is feisty and determined to run her B&B successfully. Breck never thought he'd run in again with Rowan, the mysterious redhead he can't get his mind off. But when he goes to Shamrock Falls for a vacation and lands up on Rowan's doorstep he is determined to find out more about Rowan.

I loved all the crazy banter which went on between Breck and Rowan. They had amazing chemistry which was real. I had not read about a professional poker player before so Breck's lifestyle was a really interesting part in the book for me. With his history Breck is clearly not interested in anything long term with Rowan. But fate has a way of stepping in.

We also get to meet Kade and Sidney in this book. It was a real pleasure watching the tension between Jace and Betsy as well. I'm really hoping we get a book for Jace and Betsy soon cause I so want to know their story. Luck Of The Draw was a really sweet romance. It made for a quick read. Its like a feel good book which I love losing myself into from time to time.

I was so happy when I finished Lucky Break and flipped to chapter one of this book to see this story followed Rowan. She was one of my favorite characters in LB and I couldn't wait to see her love story unfold. Breck isn't what I expected for her at all but once I got to know him. Seeing past his poker face, I realized he was just what Row needed. LOVED these two. ;) I loved being back in Shamrock Falls, Kelley does a great job of bringing this small Pacific Northwest town to life. I love the back and forth between Rowan and Breck. The friendship formed throughout the book. And I did have to dab away some tears at one point. But I was left with a HUGE smile on my face at the end.

A super fun, swexy (that's sweet and sexy) read. And you'll be left wanting to join this group again for the next book in this series. (When does that come out, Kelley??????)

This is another super cute story from Kelley Vitollo. I fell in love with it and didn't want to put it down until I had turn the very last page.

I loved getting to visit Shamrock Falls! I love the community there. Rowan was such a great character in Lucky Break, so I was excited for her to get her own story. Rowan and Breck's story was so easy to get caught up in and was just absolutely adorable. There were so many awww moments throughout this book. Breck is such a fantastic character - he had me snickering so many times throughout the book.

The one thing that was a little off for me was some of the pacing - there was just a few points where things didn't exactly line up for me.

Another hit from Kelley Vitollo! I hope there is more in the Shamrock Falls world - personally, I'm hoping for Betsy to get her own book, as she is such a great character.

I don't care what name she goes by, she prints it, I'll read. Pure and simple.

This book was so cute! I loved Rowan in Lucky Break and couldn't wait to read her story. And hello! Breck Wilder was exactly what she needed!! The two of them were adorable. It was great that characters we know were actually part of the story. In some books past characters are just a side piece but Kade, Sidney, Jace and Betsy have a role.

It was great watching Rowan and Breck get to know each other after their little adventure in Vegas. It was relaxed and natural. There is loss, but there is an awful lot of happiness too. Totally an enjoyable read.

Some of my favorite stories include the main characters spending a lot of alone time. There are several characters in this book but there's just something so special about the relationship building alone time that Rowan and Breck have. I adored this story and the characters. I'm anxiously waiting for the 3rd book. Knowing who the main characters are makes me want to already proclaim that it will be my favorite in the series.

**Kelley rocks and I adore her novels.

I fell in love with Shamrock Falls in Lucky Break and was really excited to go back there again while reading Luck of the Draw, especially when I found out it was Rowan's story. While in Las Vegas for a conference, Rowan is feeling kind of sorry for herself after her brother doesn't show up to spend time with her. While sitting at the bar, Breck Wilder enters the scene, introducing himself as "Wilder." Rowan immediately shoots him down, which is something Breck isn't used to, but that doesn't deter him one bit, especially since flirting is kind of a second nature to him. They end up laughing and having a great time together. One thing leads to another and they have a wild night of passion together. Rowan sneaks off before Breck wakes up, and heads back home to Sharmock Falls to her Bed and Breakfast. When her friend Jace arranges for one of his college buddies to stay there for 6 weeks, Rowan is elated to have a guest, that is until she opens the door and sees Breck standing there. She is so shocked she passes out, resulting in a visit to the hospital. The next six weeks prove to be one of the most interesting, enlightening, aggravating, enjoyable, and heartbreaking times in both Breck and Rowan's life. The question is, what happens when it's over and all is said and done?

Kelley Vitollo has written yet another fabulous romance. I loved Luck of the Draw, and I especially loved getting to know Rowan and Breck. We first met Rowan in Lucky Break. She is Kade and Sidney's best friend, who we also get to see in this installment, which I really enjoyed. I loved Rowan. She is independent, fun loving, and has a fiery temper, but she is also very vulnerable, though she tries to hide it. Breck is just awesome, and sometimes a little aggravating, but that just adds to his charm. He's totally hot, cocky, has a great since of humor, a killer smile, and is the life of the party. Breck is a professional poker player and has a history with the ladies, but never gets serious with them because he was burned so badly by someone he loved a long time ago, a fact that he doesn't share with anyone. He makes it clear he isn't interested in a relationship or settling down, but the more time he spends around Rowan, the more the lines begin to blur. Rowan is really attracted to Breck, but she is determined to keep her distance emotionally and not let him get too close, especially since he has made it clear he's not interested in a serious relationship, but no matter how hard she tries, the heart wants what the heart wants.

I loved watching Rowan and Breck's relationship develop as they skate around their feelings, but unable to deny the sparks they feel when they're around each other. When Rowan loses someone she loves, her walls come down and they finally give into their feelings for one another. Rowan has a big secret she has been keeping from Breck, and is planning to finally tell him, only he finds out about it before she is able to. Breck also has a secret he's kept from Rowan. Hurt and heartache drive them apart, but will their love be enough to bring them back together again?

I was sucked in from the beginning until the end of this story, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The plot was great, I loved all the characters, and the romance was fabulous. If you are a contemporary romance lover, then Luck of the Draw is one book you should definitely check out.

Rowan is in Vegas for a conference and disappointed that she could not get together with her brother. She's sitting at the bar nursing her wounds and feeling once again forgotten by her family when she meets a handsome stranger.

Breck has sworn off women after his last relationship failed, but he is attracted to the fiery redhead who doesn't take any of his crap. Their attraction is immediate and although Rowan does hesitate and tries to talk herself out of it, they end up having a one-night stand - a memorable one-night stand!

A month later Breck decides to take some time off to relax and unwind with his cat, Ace, and ends up in Shamrock Falls staying in none other than Rowan's newly established Bed & Breakfast. Since the business is just starting out, Rowan cannot risk sending Breck's business away, especially after getting some unexpected news regarding their one night of passion.

I loved, loved this story! As I mentioned in my review of the previous book, I couldn't wait to read Rowan's story. I am happy to say that it was everything I was expecting and then some.

Kelly Vitollo did an amazing job of bringing to the page a sweet, angsty, romantic story of second chances and new beginnings. I liked how she brought Breck and Rowan together, making them start out as friends after their one encounter and showing how deep their connection ran. The chemistry between Breck and Rowan was clear to see, especially after that explosive first night in Vegas. However, it was their connection and how it developed further that made this romance story a joy to read.

I appreciated the fact that Breck was torn between his past and what he felt for Rowan and that when he finally realized what he was feeling for her he didn't hesitate to step up and give it a try. I also enjoyed how Rowan opened up to Breck and showed another side of herself other than her caring and helpful side. She was thoughtful, friendly and immensely attracted to Breck. I liked how her mind worked and her sense of humor, but it was her longing for a family of her own, her range in emotions and her actions that endeared her to me.

The secondary characters in the story were enjoyable too. I especially loved seeing Sidney and Kade together and watching as Jace and Betsy became closer since the previous book. I am looking forward to Jace's story after some of the things I read in this installment. He does need to find his happily ever after.

Luck of the Draw is the second book in the Shamrock Fall series and although it can be read as a stand alone I would encourage you to read the previous book, Lucky Break. There you'll get to meet Rowan for the first time and really get to see another side of her. I think that having met Rowan in the previous book helped my enjoyment of this story.

I received this title from Entangled Publishing through NetGalley in exchange of my honest opinion.

Coincidentally I just finished watching Lucky You before I started this book, so yes I kinda had a Eric Bana mental picture of Breck reading this. Rowan is a red head and obviously Drew isnt but still that's how I sorta pictured this playing out. That said, Im a fan of this series I like Kelly Vitollo's writing style (aka Nyrae Dawn), Ive enjoyed Sidney and Kade's story and was quiet looking forward to this one. Rowan's always taken care of people, it's her thing. Now it's her turn. These hometown stories are my favorite cause it manages to evoke memories and feelings, manages to be fun, cute and romantic too.

Breck is what youd imagine a professional poker player to be charming, smooth, handsome, girl magnet and all around fun. He's not what you'd call someone with a serious outlook on things, he has his hangups from past relationships but he tries to not let that get in the way. Rowan is feisty, she has spirit, she likes people and is very warm to others. She's best friends with Sidney and Kade, everyone knows she's a good person they knows she can easily hurt as well.

While this isnt a exactly of those hit em hard kind of stories, it's steady and sweet that kind of read. Friendship and trust is a big thing for Rowan, she cares deeply and is a good friend to many. Sidney and Kade's relationship is something that she inspires to have, a best friend, lover and someone to to care for her this time. Her meeting with Breck seems like your typical one night stand, but not really cause it follows her back home to her B&B. Her first big guest is none other than Breck himself. First theyre all awkward, and Rowan tries to avoid Breck cause she knows his type and his feelings towards woman. I enjoyed the pace of their friendship and easy going relationship, it felt natural and despite their own misgivings they are able to work past it somehow.

This was a nice follow up to the previous book, I cant wait for the next book of Jace's. The side characters and friends make this book more loveable, they add humor and more dimension to the overall story. I have a little issue with the scene transitions I felt it awkward, but that maybe just me. This was a light and easy read, not too long, if you want something in between other books to liven you up this is a good one to try.

Oh my goodness...I loved this book! Not that I'm all that surprised. I loved Sidney and Kade's story, but Rowan and Breck's story was perfect!

It's funny, I was so looking forward to Jace's story and really didn't expect to love Rowan as much as I did. Not that I didn't like her in the first book, but I really love complicated male characters. Rowan definitely attached to me though. She's a lot more sensitive than I originally thought. My first impressions of her in the first book were that she was a bit sassy, honest, and definitely a take charge type of girl. And she is all of those things, but she has some issues that she's held on to that have made her a bit insecure in relationships. She needs to be loved by a good man. Enter, Breck Wilder.

All I needed to see was his name to know I would love him. Breck has his own set of past issues, but together Breck and Rowan just work. There is no doubt that they are attracted to each other. I mean, they did have a one night stand. But, it's more than just the physical attraction that drew this couple together, which was good because Rowan is hiding something from Breck. She needed to see that he was in love with her.

It was great to see the cast of characters again. That's always one of my favorite things about reading a series. Sidney and Kade are moving along in their relationship. While Jace, is Jace. I'm crossing my fingers for Betsy. I hope she can either make Jace see her as something other than a friend or find someone else who will appreciate her. I love her and I think she would be good for Jace.

The Shamrock Falls Series is quickly becoming a favorite. They are short reads, but you really get the full experience of these couples stories. I can't wait to see how the series finishes with Jace. If you are looking for a short, sweet, and romantic read, check this series out.

After reading Kelley's first book in the Shamrock Falls series I knew I had to read Luck of the Draw. I had to know Rowan's story. But if you are coming in and haven't read Lucky Break, don't worry, this book stands on it's own fine. There is a benefit to reading the first book just because it's a great book as well, but you don't have to read it to read Luck of the Draw.

I loved Rowan in the first book so I knew I would like her in this book and I did. From the opening scene until the end she entranced me. I felt everything she felt and understood all of her motivations fully and her feelings as well. And Breck, what an interesting and scarred man. He's been hurt, he has a transient lifestyle and he thinks he's not ready to settle down. But after awhile spent in Rowan's company this all begins to change. Yes they are both stubborn and yes there are obstacles to overcome. Yes you will want to beat them over the head, but isn't that what makes a romance. Well that and the sparks that fly between the characters.

And the sparks do fly. But I like how things really develop in this book. Yes there is the opening scene, but after that, they become friends and I really like that. Ms. Vitollo does an amazing job of developing their relationship in this book and giving us a little more insight into Jace and Betsy who I can't wait to read about in the next book.

Romance, friendship, conflict and a surprise from the beginning. This book is a wonderful heartfelt and happy read that brings us back to the town of Shamrock Falls which I love. Luck of the Draw was another winner for me and it was a wonderful story that will stay with me for awhile. In the end it makes you want to go to your loved one (if you have one) and hug them tight and remember how and why you fell in love. And now I cannot wait for book #3. Great job Kelley!

We first meet Rowan in the first book of the Shamrock Falls series called Lucky Break and you could not help but fall for the character even in that book where she was just a secondary character.

Here we first find Rowan in Vegas for a convention but is drinking at the bar because one of her older brothers that is nearby is just too busy to meet up with her. It is the man that sits beside her (Breck Wilder) who keeps her interest and keeps her talking for hours.

After a one-night stand in which Rowan flees, Rowan goes back home only to find Breck on the doorstop of her B&B a month later after Jace his college friend suggests he stay there for a break.

Both are keeping secrets close to their chest for very different reasons. Break has problems is trusting woman after a few really bad experiences and Rowan has another kind of secret that will not stay quiet for long.

Shakes is back in this story and we see how close with he and Rowan are along with her other friends. I'm also glad to we get to see more of Jace and Betsy in this book, just teasing us for book three.

Breck and Rowan spend a lot of time together slowly piecing bits of each other together and finding, that actually, they really like what they see.

Yes we get a little excitement at the end where things go a little pear shaped, but with any book in the Entangled line we get a HEA.
