So I loved PR sooo much and the cliff hanger ending was a killer. So I was super excited to start Heart Song but it just did blow me away. I thought the story was rushed in parts and as much as I hate to say this too much drama. I would have loved 2 of the 3 main plots but all three was over kill. I feel that with all 3 plots packed in a 2nd book was too much it could have gone in to a 3rd book. All that being said I still love Violet and Travis and enjoyed the book. 3.5 stars.

A great 2nd story that ends in a very nice HEA

It was a great conclusion from the first book.

Only thing I didn’t like?

The 2 year jump.. I understand that Mischief and Mandy needed time to heal after all the horrible shit that happened to them in the first book but 2 years was just a really long time., but in saying that nothing really changed all that much in the 2 years she was gone except for Travis and his drug abuse.

What a long way to go to get a HEA for Violet and Travis. Attention readers: We need an editor here STAT! Violet has returned from 2 years in hell caring for a dying grandmother, a recovering rape victim mom and healing her own personal tragedy filled with overwhelming grief.

Violet is a mess and here is a sample of what she is dealing with:
1. Horrific nightmares caused by witnessing the suicide(gunshot to the head after shooting her first in the shoulder) of the unstable twin brother of her dead best friend(decapitated by lightning while Violet bullied her into swimming during a storm)
2. Jealousy, anger and frustration related to her father having an illegitimate daughter raised by the gangster that has been trying to kill her. This secret daughter is also the reason her parents broke up years before.
3. Heartbreak when Travis her soul mate and one true love has a secret daughter and ex-girlfriend he left Violet for 6 years ago. Apparently he was so in love with Violet he had a drunken one night stand with his high school girl knocked her up and took her with him to NYC so he wouldn't hurt Violet? So not 10 minutes before Violet is shot she finds this secret out when they show up at his front door trying to figure out why Travis left them months ago in NYC.

This hot mess does not prevent Violet from returning home to start over and heal. She is so gifted at the power of healing she cures Travis' 2 year drug addiction to meth and pills in 10 days. I know right?!

I would have upped this to 3 stars and overlooked the crazy plot twists, bad decisions and emotional immaturity of these characters for a sexy rockstar wedding. The wedding we got was sweet but not what I needed. Following those crazy plot twists, including a baby Travis was not that psyched about, I felt I had earned a pledge your love moment beyond a proposal. Nothing says I've loved you all my life despite the crap I have put you through and thanks for getting me off the drugs better than a spectacular over the top rockstar wedding. Am I right? UGH!

Here is a sample of the crazy I mentioned: Travis leaves Violet in the hospital alone following another attempt on her life to care for a lunatic ex-lover. He threatened to kill a guy for having coffee with Violet, however, it is OK for Travis to help out a former lover that has begged him back for the last two years? When Violet finally gets her big girl pants on and asks him NOT to do this he says he's not up for her jealous act? WTF? I wasn't invested enough in the outcome here to be anything more than confused at this point in the book. I read to the end mostly to see what else this author throws at these poor people. How about a kidnapping and stabbing to go with that 'I told you so?'

This is going to be a very difficult review for me simply because I wanted to love this book. I wanted to see better editing, I wanted to see maturity and growth in the writing style. I wanted this because I love this story. I love the idea behind the story. Travis Phoenix is a GREAT book character. I think this author has so much potential and I am so disappointed that she didn't spend more time perfecting her skills, and improve on the editing of this book.

The conclusion of Mischief and Travis felt rushed. The storyline jumped from one situation to another. This book picks up two years after the conclusion of Phoenix Rockstar but very little was said about the H/H time spent apart. When Mischief does come back, it seems like nothing has changed in the TWO years she has been gone. She finds out her dad has another daughter and has lied to her. She finds out Travis has a daughter he has been hiding. She gets shot. She runs away from everything she knows and loves for two years and when she shows back up, she barely has a discussion about any of the reasons she ran to begin with.

We also find out that Mischief has not matured at all in the two years she has spent away from Travis. She still acts like a ten year old child where her father and Jasmine are concerned. She is still whining over Chief loving Jasmine more than he loves her. She still tries to run from Travis when he wants to talk with her. I found myself rolling my eyes several times and wondering why Travis was so determined to keep her in his life.

Unfortunately, I really didn't find myself getting wrapped up in Heart Song. It felt rushed, not "thought out" very poor editing, jumped from one situation/subject to another, and unrealistic (how many times can one girl get shot, beaten, and kidnapped before a police investigation happens?).

I was lucky enough to get picked by the author to read it before it came out and I freaking loved it, I was dying to read it as book one left you with such a cliffhanger, but lucky I didn't take long for book two to come out. I read it in one sitting I could not put it down no matter how much my kids were yelling I was in a Heart Song Coma lol Bec has become one of my favorite authors. I know I will love anything she writes. Cus I loved loved this book, Travis and Mischiefs (violet) relationship was such a roller coaster ride of emotions together they have been to hell and back. I loved that we got to hear Travis POV it was hot, I also loved how Mandy and chief story came to play I can't wait to read their story. This book had passion, heat, romance, bikers, drugs, violence, stalkers it had everything but mostly it had a bond between two people that was so hot and intense that I got very hot and bothered lol can't wait to see what Bec writes next especially can't wait to read Mandy and Chiefs story. I recommended this book to everyone but you have to read Phoenix Rockstar I suggest you do because you will love it ;)

I was so on the fence with book one, but Heart Song pushed me over and I loved it. I was worried that this book would be stuffed with plots, but it tied up the open ended issues of book one and still added a few new things to the mix.

"Give a little time to me, to burn this out, We'll play hide and seek, to turn this around, All I really want is the tast that your lips allow, My my, my my, give me love."

"You and me, we have always been made for each other. I will let you run, deny it and even pretend like you want to date for a while, but eventually, I will take you and I will fuck you so damned slowly you won't know what hit you, then I will keep you forever because there is no way in hell you are getting away again."

"Exactly; resign yourself to this fact baby, because those panties are coming off." I gape. "Whate makes you think you are getting anywhere near my panties?" He gives me a slow, sexy grin. "Because, I am Travis Phoenix."

So it's been 2 years since that night, when Annabelle and Amber show up at Travis's door - 2 years since she ran because he lied and came face to face with Jeremy and his gun. 2 years of running away and no contact with Chief or Travis. But that is going to change when her mother decides she has to get out and see the world. Violet is now parked in front of her father's house and is not sure if she is ready to try to make it right.

Oh, yeah - she fucking broke Travis.

But while she is gone, his life is a disaster. She is facing his drug use and his complete lack of even trying to live his life. The day she left, he stopped breathing. And although he is angry at her - and she is angry at him...their chemistry is still their. They have belonged to each other from day one.

Violet is having to face coming to terms with is new life choices, saving him - fixing what she broke when she left - she is the only person who can fix him. And just as things start to look like all will be right with the world, Demon comes back. But this time all hell breaks loose. Add to that the crazy fan girl that caught your eye in book one and some more surprises that are of the happier nature and you end the story with a huge smile.

I am so glad this story pulled it all together. The writing was improved along with the dialog sequences and the story fit really well. I loved that both were short reads - and after finding the first ended on such a cliffhanger - I am so happy I discovered this series after the second one was available! I was able to read them both back t back over a few hours.

I love Travis. There I said it.

I was lucky enough & honored to be chosen by Bec to read Heart Song before it's released & give her my honest opinion, so here it is......I loved it!!!! I like how this Author is not all about hearts & flowers....I like to see couples have to work for a HEA & don't mind seeing things get a little bit gritty ;) I believe Travis & Vi fans will enjoy this roller coaster ride & cheer right along for this "Rockstar" couple!!!

Ok, I read the drama was toned down in this version, WOW..... I can't imagine how much more drama there was in the previous version. I really liked the characters and the storyline in this series. But, it just got a bit too crazy with her getting beat up, shot, stalked, etc. all the time and by different people. I still wanted to find out how it ended so I guess that is a good thing. 3.5 stars :-)

Dramatic, but to be honest, I would have liked even more drama.

Nice ending to Travis and Violet's story, even if things about Travis' past bothered me.

He really, really loved Violet, and that's always the most important thing about the hero of a book.

"I don't fucking care; my life without you has been dark. You are my light now; I need you, fix me Mischief, fix this."

~Travis Phoenix

Well damn, another intense and emotional roller coaster. Heart Song picks up right where Phoenix Rockstar left off. I think it's safe to say Mischief needs to be planted firmly inside off a bubble, she can't catch a break to save her life! She has needed time to heal physically, mentally and emotionally. Having been gone for two years, a lot has changed and some of those changes will be hard for Mischief to wrap her mind around.

Chief has suffered and ached during the absence of his daughter, more than she initially knows. Even so, he has managed the best way he can and to Mischief's surprise, it appears Jasmine now has a place in his life as well, even though Chief has Mischief close to his heart, literally. Father and daughter reunion is both heart wrenching and shaky. Since the 'family' looks a little different now, it's going to take some time and understandably so. And then there's Travis...

description

My poor, poor Travis. He'll rip your heart right out. He hasn't managed well during her absence. He's furious and drowning in alcohol, women and drugs. He's lost and broken and basically doesn't know what to do with himself. Travis goes above and beyond when it comes to traits such as possessiveness and intense. Musicians tend to be driven by their hearts, regardless of what shape said hearts are in at any given time. This rings very true for Travis. He's spinning out of control and makes damn sure she and everyone else knows it. Even with all his hurt and anger, he still loves her. Travis loves her on a level that's hard to find words for. She isn't just 'under his skin', she's what runs through his veins, she is the beginning and end of every breath he takes and as angry as both of them are, they can't sever that link, their souls are intertwined. That being said, their journey continues to test both their love and their will.

I loved this book and hope there is more of the series to come. That being said, it did get a little overwhelming for me in some ways. It was always something, and I do mean always. I love a fast paced, action filled romance as much as the next girl. At times it felt that it was going to snowball and sort of get away from me a little. I would have preferred it slowed down just a bit. Overall, the Biker Rockstar series is a fascinating and angst filled romance with hot rockers and lethal bikers who love a little 'Mischief' *wink*

After the horrific night when Violet was shot and forced to watch Jeremy commit suicide right in front of her, Violet is still haunted with nightmares. It has been 2 years with no contact with her father or Travis. She had to deal with not only her traumatic experience with Jeremy, but her father having another child, as well as Travis not telling her about his child with Annabelle.

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos
Travis has slowly been going in a downward spiral for the past 2 years without Violet. He starts using drugs and sleeping around trying to forget her. He knows he was wrong for hiding the truth about his daughter from Violet, but he is beyond angry that she left without giving him a chance to explain and won’t answer his phone calls.

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos
When Violet arrives back she finds her father and step sister living at the Club house, as well as Travis living next door. Their reunion is not a happy one. They both have a lot of anger and hurt feelings and it takes dramatic circumstances for them to get back to a point where they can speak to each other about the past and consider a future.

Chief starts to change and become a better father figure to both of his daughters. He also gets a very good ending as well. But you’ll have to read to find out ;) There are some nice twists and turns in this book that made it a very enjoyable read.

SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW -My opinion from he first book goes for this book also. Good story line but way too many unbelievable areas. The writing as well felt like I was reading a text book. The characters did not have smooth conversations.

Mischief/Violet: equally annoying and even though 2 years have passed she continues to act like a child. At one point she asks her father if he loves her more than Jasmine. Really???? So violet gets shot and takes off because she cant handle her father lying to her about having another child. She didnt bother to ask him about it just leaves because she is jealous and hurt. In addition she finds out that Trav has a daughter and cant handle that either. He is the love of her life but she didnt even talk about the situation. Just left like a child would do. So she decides to come back after 2 years of no contact. She sees her father and behind him is Jasmine. They make eye contact and like the child she is she runs away from him. He catches her at the beach and she asks, Daddy do you love her more than me? Oh my fucking God. Really. The character of Violet sucked. This girl ends up getting more beatings and shot than most criminals. It is just too unbelievable.

Chief: the big bad Chief again falls short of his description because he yet again does not protect his daughter. He's like all talk.

Trav: he loses his heart and becomes an asshole with drug issues. Yet, he never tried to contact the love of his life. Trav, once again, is the best character in this book. He is actually the most real.

I could go on. I didnt really like how the story progressed. I think the things that have happened to Violet were just too much for one person. The biker aspect of the story of being big bad dudes just didnt come thru.

There is a 3rd book about Chief called Chiefs Angel. It suppose to be Chiefs story about him and violets mom. I'm not going to read that one.

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,
You make me happy when skies are grey,
You'll never know dear, how much I love you,
Please don't take my sunshine away"

Now imagine a sexy, beefy, rockstar-biker singing this to you. *swoon*

Heart Song begins exactly where Phoenix Rockstar ended and was an emotional fuckfest just as Phoenix Rockstar was. I ate up this book just as quickly too. But at least now I feel like I can breathe.

Mischief was away a long time, and things are different now. Chief struggled with her absence but Trav...well a part of him died when she ran and the rest was just barely hanging on.

Like I said this was another emotional one...but damn when Trav got all hot and bothered phew! watch out, let's just say hot-sex-on-a-bike scene. Oh yea.

Jasmine..I knew she was going to pull some shit. I did not want to like her, I stomped and screamed. I don't totally love her...but I guess she ain't so bad.

The wedding...loved it, beautiful and Chief? sigh but I gotta say, a biker wedding and someone is singing Taylor Swift???? gag There are plenty of love rock songs out there that would have been a hell of a lot better than that shit. Sorry...ranting.

Well I can finally breathe now and go about my life....well after I read Chief's Angel of course ;)

p.s. I had forgotten to say this in my last review but the constant proper grammar...gah. It's a good thing that most of the time I will automatically read 'I will' as 'I'll' in my head. It does kind of ruin it a bit...these are bikers for fucks sake..they barely speak english half the time.

2.5 - 3 Ugh....loved the potential of this series but it just fell short. It certainly is not as good as Undeniable. Loved Travis. Had a very hard time connecting with the main female character. She was supposed to be 21 but seems 15. She was very immature, ran from everything over and over again, etc. I understand she was supposed to be sheltered by her parents but gee. This really made me dislike her character.

I did not love the writing style. Funny thing is, the flashbacks to when the two characters were young were written very well. I actually loved them. They were heartfelt, felt real, showed you what these characters were like and how they become so close (which is wonderfully refreshing with so many books being so short and rushing through the stories these days).

I also enjoyed the dialog between the two main characters. However, some of the conversations and words that were used were really odd. I could not figure out if there were typos or if the words used were just odd.

In my opinion, the second book is very weak, much weaker than the first but I still give it three stars. I usually dont stop reading a book but this book bored me and I stopped reading about 70% through. I

When I bought this book, I was looking for a Rockstar romance. Yes there was a rockstar and yes there was a romance but I really thought
these books were more about "the" Rockstar and not of a motorcycle presidents daughter, Violet. So, don't be decieved like I was.

So about Violet... she seriously annoyed me to death. She was so immature. I wouldnt have thought a 21-23y/o would act like that. I mean come on, if I found out I had a sister I'd be delighted. Her reaction was just ugh.

The story was just waaaay excessive to me. I'm sorry if it may seem that I live in my tiny peaceful bubble but there is just no way that this is "normal in their world." I mean how many times can one girl can take a beating.

The writing style bothered me too. It seemed like she tried to fit so many good aspects and plots into one story that it just fell short. I thought it would improve with this second book but it didn't. It was jumpy and all over the place. Hope that the authors next works are better.

True Rating: 3.5

I really liked Pheonix Rockstar and the ending left me dying to get the next book. However, Heart Song left me a little disappointed. I enjoyed the beginning, but sadly, I felt like the rest of the book had to much drama. Way to much drama. Having said that, I still loved Mischief and Travis. I loved how we continued to get flashbacks into their childhood and the beginnings of their relationship. They were hot and I was happy they got their HEA.

I do not recall a lot of editing issues in the first book, but this book was full of grammatical errors and missing or incorrect words. This definitely was a distraction. Also, I was surprised that the author did not give credit to the artists whose song lyrics she used throughout the books.

Overall, if you read the first book you will want to read this one. It is a good and quick read. I just think it tried to live up to the first and was a bit overkill.

Where do I start this book Travis Phoenix and Violet (Mischeif) are a couple strugging to fight for each other. I must say this book had a lil of everything: great sex scenes, kidnapping, shooting scene, girl fights and a detox secene. WOW.

I love the mystery behind the whole stalker and the thrill of being linked to a Biker Gang. Violet had some demons in her past. And the songs they would sing when they were kids brought ters to my eyes.

"Mischeif, I can't say before you my life was empty because you have always been in my life. There is no before you, there is no after you, there is only you. I am a better man because of you , and you are my light. I told you once all darkness needs is a little of the right kinda light, an I was right - because even in my darkest times you were there and you changed me. Marry me, because without you my life isn't woth living. Be my light Mischief, forever?”
This was my favorite quote I loved the proposal.

Oh boy. Here's the thing. I think the author had a bunch of great ideas for stories. As in stories, plural. There is just too many stories going on. And it got to be repetitive. How many times is she going to get beat up?

I think with a professional editor, this series would be great. The spelling grammar and punctuation need to be fixed. I'm not sure what the author has against contractions, but it really hurts the dialogue. It makes it seem as if a non native English speaking person is writing the book. I know the author is Australian and I have Aussie friends who use contractions I've never even heard of so that's not the issue. The contractions help make things seem more natural and the words flow better and sound more mature.

I didn't hate the book, I think it needs to be cleaned up, and choose less plot points and then it could be much better.

So this one was way better then book one. Still not very good. The only thing that saved it was Travis was way more awesomer in this book. Yeah I know it's not a word. He is fucked up and I love it. Violet is still as stupid and annoying as ever. And can someone explain to me how 3 okay THREE separate people have tried to kill this stupid bitch and no one has succeeded. Someone needs to hire a professional. All in all the whole book was still to far out there to be enjoyable and pass as a good read. Seriously who gets shot 4 times in the chest and lives? Rasputin? Come on now. Ridiculous. And seriously there is no point to Travis being a "rock star" he doesn't do shit. Okay rant over. Don't read this series if u can help it. Even if it is free right now. Also hate the cover.

Hmm, well. I really wanted to like this book. Phoenix was good, not great, but still good enough that I jumped on this one. Vi was still annoying as crap and Travis was on up there too though. Those two make it hard to like together. Their only real saving grace for me is reading the flashbacks to their childhood.. I think overall, the biggest issue was the flow just wasn't there with this one. It seem jumpy and random. And hello, what a twist that you could see coming from 3 miles away. Overall there was potential, but it just seemed rushed. Chief made up for so much of the book though. I'll check out the next book in the series for him.

So this is how my day went yesterday, I got this in my hot little hands, sat down, turned the phone, the tv off and my partner off every time he spoke and I read this and read this until I'd finished.. Just like book 1, right from the start your drawn into the story, but at least this one didn't have that cliff hanger at the end..I can honestly say that I loved it!! Definitely a book I will be recommending to all..

Well, it was good to finish the story - and we all know how much we hate a cliffy - but still I felt this was a little bit disappointing. The first one had a lot of potential that I didn't think it fully realised, and this one even more so.

On the plus side, it was a good enough book, but not one that will stay with me and certainly not a re-read. I think this author has so much more to give, so I'll keep following her and hopefully she will keep getting better.

I don't wish to slam these books but they are too rough around the edges. Minor things from grammar to big things like too many plot lines that don't mesh, are choppy, and just doesn't allow the book to flow. The love story is steamy, but cookie cutter and generic.

A lot of emotions, distance does make the heart grow fonder. Between Chief/Angel and Travis/Violet, love stronger than any problems- psycho exes, betrayal, lies. Loved the flashbacks to Vi and Trav's youth, sweet. Everything tied up in a wonderful bow, great series!
