Before reading this book I knew two things about Lillian Wald: she was Jewish and she founded the Visiting Nurse Service.

Now I also know that she supported women's suffrage, opposed militarism during WWI, supported the NAACP, and loved other women.

Good overview. The play therein could be really good with a strong actress. I appreciate the reprint of some of the original letters and speeches of Wald.
