Rate this book
This is Book 3 in the Riding the Line series.

What happens when Rhiannon Blake and Dax Jamison, the ultra-sexy, alpha male vice president of the Phantoms motorcycle club cross paths once more? Find out in this highly anticipated sequel to the popular motorcycle romance drama, Satin and Steel.

Meeting Dax Jamison led to emotional havoc and a secret that left Rhee scared and confused. She did the only thing she could think of--she ran. Rhiannon figured that leaving was the best solution for both she and Dax. Little did she know, her disappearance affected Dax more deeply then she could have imagined. When he finds her again...he's not exactly pleased when he discovers Rhiannon's little secret.

Unfortunately, Rhiannon Blake isn’t the reason Dax is out on an island getaway. He’s negotiating a big deal for the Phantoms—one that could change the playing field for the club. When things go awry, Dax discovers that there’s more to life than he ever could have imagined. Will he give up the cut he’s worked so hard to earn?

This book contains strong language, violence, and steamy/graphic sexual scenes, which some readers might find offensive. Intended for readers over 18.

When it comes out?
Need urgent ... want to know how the story ends!!
I'm dying here!
Please Mrs. Author ... I need this!
---------------------------------------------------
Updated on 7 September.
---------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------

Book review in English and Portuguese.

Dax had a girlfriend official (old lady) and was planning to marry and have children with her ... what he wanted the heroine do????
Keep watching him build a life with another woman while she was in love with him and pregnant ... out that he cheated on his girlfriend with the heroin.
Dax, you are so selfish and only think of yourself and with the wrong head, hahaha!!
Throughout the book the two really don't talk about their problems and end up involved with gangsters and problems of the motorcycle club.
I liked the reading but I was a little disappointed.
But I'm willing to read the story of the other members of the motorcycle club, so I'm going to accompany the series.

This book did not live up to first book at all.

There was a lot inner monologues and not enough communication between characters. Dax and Rhee get their HEA but overall it felt incomplete with too many questions. . .

1 - What happened to Alanna? What does she know?
2 - What will happen with Marino?
3 - Vidal's thug knows the secret what will he do with it?

Too many new characters with no back story, they seemed liked random characters but with major roles in the story.

Not bad and not great.

This book starts out three years later. A lot as changed since Rhee and Dax last seen each other. When I say a lot, I really mean a lot. There is a few reasons why Rhee ran away in the first place. She thought she knew where her sister, Mickey, was, and, well, she has a secret that will change her life forever. A secret she can't tell anyone, especially not Dax.

Rhee is living a happy life with a few people closest to her. She has a really good job, and does charity for children in need. She has her life on the right track. Everything is going very smoothly for her, everything besides finding love.

Dax is lost and has no idea how to find himself. He's depressed, but would never admit it. Everyone can see it. Ever since Rhee left, Dax's life has been spiraling out of control. He loved the “stowaway” and misses her more than anything.

Dax goes out of town on some business matters. Little does he know, Rhee is there, and soon they will be brought together. He has always put the club first, but when he finds Rhee, he doesn't know what to do with himself. He starts putting off business. He starts wanting to spend more time with Rhee, and be around her and.... the secret addition.

They both want each other. They both want to wrap their arms around each other, and never let go, but neither of them will strike the first move. They're both confused and don't know what to do next.

Drama unravels and puts all three of their lives in danger. Will Dax and Rhee end up together? Will Dax keep his commitment to the club or to Rhee?

I absolutely loved that there was a book two in this series. I fall more in love with Dax and Rhee as characters. Rhee makes decisions that not everyone has the strength to make. Dax will do whatever is takes to stay with the love of his life. Two people that are destined to be together, no matter what the obstacles that stand in there way.

I give this book 5 stars, and I can't wait to start reading the last book in the series! I recommend this series to all of the people that love MC/ Romance books.

Very clever Ms. Vixen I was intrigued to know how they would meet again and all.

Sabrina "Rina" Jefferies aka Rhee Blake has fled Darling to go after her sister. But from the previous book we know that is not the entire truth. The Phantoms go out to set up a deal and as fate will have it Rhee and Dax cross paths.
The second book worked just as well as the first one. The chemistry was still there I just think that they could of got to talking sooner.
Dax finds out that he has a daughter and to begin with isn't sure but grows into it.
I loved Manali and Turtle (I would love to see a book about Turtle)
I also hope that Wince and Mickey get a book. So pay attention Ms. Vixen this is what we want :-)
Over the three years where Dax felt betrayed, deserted and alone. He realised one important thing in life that the family you can have is achievable. As an Alpha Male he came to realise that he belongs just where he is and not in Darling. It was the perfect ending to their story. Yes I am sucker for stuff like that.
Now, what I am dying to know is who is the rat in the club and what the fuck did Alanna tell them. And Alanna was only slightly deluzsional as in really what on earth gave her the impression that she would become Dax's old lady???

Ms. Vixen please give us more

Good book, and anyone who read the first book should definitely read this one.

The area it fell short in was interactions between Dax and Rhee. There weren't a whole lot of those and they were kind of boring.

I think Dax felt sorry for himself too much. He was engaged to be married and planning on having a baby with his fiancé, but felt that Rhee had "abandoned" him when she disappeared from his life? Talk about wanting to have your cake and eat it too. He basically told her he wouldn't leave his fiancé for her, but she was supposed to stick around to watch them get married and have babies. What a jackass!

Obviously, things didn't work out with the fiancé, which he totally deserved.

Rhee is a way more admirable character, working hard and making a life for her and her daughter, Sienna. The only problem I had was that everyone she came into contact with loved her and thought she was the greatest. (The MC from book one, the native Hawaiians, the Hawaiian gang member/surfers)

The main problem for me was: Not enough interaction and story about the main characters, them being the whole reason I read this book.

I will read the next book, because I'm hoping Wince gets a story.

Torn as to how to review this book. I got into it straight away but found myself wishing the pace would pick up. I loved the story that focused on Rhee and Sienna but found the back ground story a little lacking. Wince was good as a secondary character but the bad guys in this story came across as slightly unbelievablle IMO. This is in total contrast to Rhee's story line, which was not only believable but had me emotionally invested in her new family!
Lots of potential in this series and even though it doesn't fill the biker void, I'll continiue to look forward to the next book (assuming there's going to be one) to follow this story through.

5 stars. I have to admit the first book definitely gave it a Big Punch! Now this book, let say I have to read it twice, I kept saying to myself that I was missing something. Don't get me wrong I am still a fan of Dax and Rhee. But I do not know I wanted more or the Phantom MC. Even though I do say Wince is adorable. He also needs a story, he was there regardless gave 100 %. Loved the Hawaiian Characters as well as the slang. Had to go to the internet to figure out a couple of the words. Overall all it was a very cute story. It did't provide a punch, but it did provide some satisfaction. Bravo to the author can't wait for the next won. Cheers!

The riveting follow up to Satin and Steel. What happens to Rhiannon and Dax, does Rhiannon find her sister?

I don't want to reveal to much of this follow up because it would have a ton of spoilers. All I can say was everything I would hope it would be. Has a few twists you are not expecting and one of my favorite characters from the Satin and Steel is back. Anxious to see what happens next.

While Im glad to get a conclusion to Dax and Rina's story, I was amazed at the low key approach that was taken. Book one was so in your face and this one was a merely a means to an end. So many opportunities to shock and awe in here and they were quietly fixed and then pushed to the side.

I would have rather have the ridiculousness then the mundane.

This was a hot five! This story is not what I excepted for the 3rd book. I was wondering for awhile how Dax and Rhee would come to meet again. Clever and sexy Jayna! This story will not disappoint to all of you who have been waiting for this book. I was sad when I flicked the last page. I hope we can see love in the future or Wince! Excellent book Miss Vixen!!!

Exciting, unpredictable, emotional , sexy, and satisfying!

Once again a great story by JAYNA VIXEN. In “Leather and Sand”, book 3, I appreciate the unpredictable way the author presents the past and current story lines. However there could be a bit more effort given towards logistics and how, who, when. But the again the details could bog the story down. Again, as in the first two books of the series, there is very little sex. For me, a needy smut reader, the story still held my interest. All in all a fun, exciting read. I’m looking forward to book four in ‘Riding the Line’ series, “Blood and Honor”.

I expected more but it was ok for Dax.

Too many questions are unanswered. What did the stalker whore know? Did the club handle her? ATF ignored the deal?

I guess the happy ending was expected but seemed rushed to me.

SYNOPSIS~
(From Goodreads)
Earning the Cut (Riding The Line 0.5)
This prequel to Satin and Steel is told from Dax's perspective. Earning the Cut reveals intimate details about Dax's past, including his rough childhood, his relationship with Trish, and of course, how he became the tough, alpha male vice president of The Phantoms motorcycle club. Just like Satin and Steel, this work is loosely inspired in part by the hit television show, Sons of Anarchy. While characters may appear similar to characters on the show, this is original work that does not infringe upon any copyright.
So, if you like tall, muscled, tattooed bikers and want to know how one troubled boy transcended his past to achieve status in an outlaw motorcycle crew, check out Earning the Cut!
This approximately 30,000 word novella contains elements of abuse, first time sex, and violence.

Satin and Steel (Riding The Line #1)
All Rhiannon Blake wanted was to find her little sister, Mickey. The last thing she expected when she walked into the seedy biker bar was to be assaulted. Luckily, Dax Jamison, the tall, muscled, vice president of The Phantoms motorcycle crew rescues her. At first, the innocent college girl clashes with the dominant biker. Then, a slow fire begins to burn between them, culminating in a fiery explosion of sex, drugs, and passion.
At first, Rhiannon is more than a little afraid of the sexy, tattooed biker. He’s arrogant, domineering, and dangerous. When her apartment is ransacked, Dax insists that The Phantoms provide protection for Rhiannon until he can figure out why she is being targeted by a rival crew. When an escaped drug cartel boss joins the mix, things start to get complicated. Loosely based on the hit television show, Sons of Anarchy, this work combines a strong plot with a scorching tale of danger, intrigue and romance.
Jayna Vixen is a popular online erotica author. Satin and Steel is her first published work. Keep an eye out for the sequel, Leather and Sand, due out in 2013.

Leather and Sand (Riding The Line #2)
What happens when Rhiannon Blake and Dax Jamison, the ultra-sexy, alpha male vice president of the Phantoms motorcycle club cross paths once more? Find out in this highly anticipated sequel to the popular motorcycle romance drama, Satin and Steel.

MY THOUGHTS~
I chose to purchase and read this series because I absolutely love biker romance! I liked the idea of a prequel that was out by the time I started the series so I could read it first.
I chose to review this as a series review rather than three individual reviews, because I read the entire series straight through. All the books flowed very well together and transitioned from one to the next very smoothly. I'm not sure it would do the individual books justice if I attempted to review them separately at this point. Had I been able to put them down in between books rather than jump right into the next, separate reviews may have been a possibility! Kudos to Jayna Vixen for drawing me in and hooking me all the way through to the end!
I thoroughly enjoyed this series from the prequel all the way through to the end of book two. It was captivating. The story line was unique in itself rather than the same old tired romance. I think that's part of what draws me to biker "romance". This author has a gift for creating unique situations.
I have nothing negative or even critical to add to this review. I was extremely impressed with this series. I can't wait for more!

Leather and Sand (Riding the Line #3)
By: Jayna Vixen
5/5 stars

This was originally billed as book #2, but has recently been changed to #3 because the prequel, Earning the Cut changed from being listed as book #0.5 to #1.

At the end of Satin and Steel, Dax pushes Rhee away, because he owes it to Trish to do whatever she wants because of all the sacrifices that she made to be with him. In doing so, he breaks Rhee’s heart and won’t hear her out. He erroneously thinks that she was going to tell him that she loved him, and he didn’t want to deal with that, because letting her down would be hard. Little did he know that she actually wanted to tell him that she was pregnant. She left the club house in the middle of the night, changed her looks, got a fake i.d. with a new name, boarded a plane and left for Hawaii, leaving a note for Dax. Dax goes to see Rhee early the next morning, finds her note & is mad at her for leaving.

Rhee’s leaving had a profound effect on Dax, his world has spiraled out of control. He has become, moody and hateful, to all the Phantom Stalkers and towards his brothers as well. Rhee of course has no idea that Dax had any sort of other feelings towards her, nor does she know of the effect that this has caused on him. But this story starts out with Dax, and we get to see all the changes that have come about, including having his old lady, Dr. Trish, leave him, forever.

It has been 3 years since Rhee left California and set up a new life in Hawaii. Even though she is mostly happy, there is a cloud of loneliness that surrounds her and she still yearns for Dax. She has made friends with her landlady, who is more like a parent to her, and has made friends with a local surfer crew. They all look out for and take care of both Rhee and her baby.

When Dax returns and shows back up in her life, it’s because he has business that has taken him to the Hawaiian Islands. Unexpectedly, he and Wince get a glimpse of Rhee which is totally shocking to them both. However they decide not to confront her while she works. Afterwards, is a different story. Rhee finds herself in a situation from which she needs saved. Luckily, Dax hasn’t wanted to let her out of his sight, and witnesses the interaction and steps in to save her.

Dax & Rhee have many things to sort out, such as: their relationship/non-relationship, the reasons why she left the club and California and of course their daughter. She just has to find a way to tell Dax. Their bodies still respond to each other, their minds are confused once again, wanting and not wanting to want the other person. They fight with themselves, with each other, and against all odds.

They still want each other, but how could it ever be worked out? Dax not only has the club, but is the VP, and is based in California. Rhee has built a life in Hawaii and doesn’t want to disrupt her child’s life, especially with how uncertain her & Dax are about their plans for the future. There are ups and downs, and they’ll have to fight hard to be there for each other.

The second book in this series begins with us seeing how Dax has been managing life since Rhiannon left the club. Which isn't so great. He doesn't realize why he feels like he does, hurt, anger, betrayed. All of these emotions leave Dax feeling like something is missing in his life. When he gets the opportunity to take a job out of state he's happy about it for once. But when he gets there the last thing he expects is to be saving Rhiannon again!

Rhiannon was pregnant when she left Dax. She thought she was doing a good thing by leaving, but when she sees him again she's not so sure now. All of these strange emotions keeps coming back for her, and she doesn't know how to handle it. Especially now that Dax knows about their daughter.

I have to say this one wasn't much better than the first one. It was only okay. The best part was the HEA in the end. I really hated how Rhiannon handled everything with Dax. I felt like she was a major coward, and in the long run looking after herself more than her child. I hate it when I read books where the mother doesn't want the father to know about the kid for any reason because really a truly the kid deserves to know her father, and mother. SO that just frustrated me. Then the way Dax handled things as well bugged me. Not only that, I hated his little stalker problem because it didn't really have much of an impact on the book, it seemed to add unneeded drama to it.
I don't think I will be reading any more of this series, this one just wasn't what I was hoping it would be. I'm somewhat disappointed now.

So like many, I've been awaiting this release on pins and needles. I was very happy with it's turnout. I liked that alot of the story wasn't just too much about the hero and heroine, but about the biker world as well as it seems that our guy Wince might be hooking up with a special missing person. At least I hope.
The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because I felt like these two just held out a bit too long to let all their feelings come out. I also don't like themes that have to do with hiding a baby from the father, so that had me already a smidge down on the book. Oh and I totally didn't understand Alanna's whole role. There was so much written about her, but not alot of any point to it - well at least that we were let in on. Maybe it'll all come out in the 3rd because right now I felt the author spent too much time on this character and didn't give alot out of her, if that makes any sense.
Anyway, 4 stars because I love these two characters. I wish the last two words of this book weren't what the were, that kind of troubles me. It also bothers me that he would stay in Hawaii instead of draggin her home. That's what the alpha in my head would have done. Non-the-less, still a good read (hello 4 stars), but I could have seen this going in so many different ways so it was a little frustrating.

So, second part of the story here. I'm a little pissed that Rhee hasn't been able to find her sister yet, but I guess that comes in the next book? Rhee and Dax reunite when he see's her on a trip to Hawaii. It's been about 3 years or so since Rhee left and there reunion is less than perfect, followed by Dax finding out/cluing in that he has a daughter. I guess a lot of people were pissed at Rhee for leaving Dax but I'm mixed feelings about it. In the end I think that it was best for her to leave him, had she dropped the 'I'm pregnant' bomb on him back when he was still with his girlfriend (totally forgot her name) he would have ended up resenting her. As it is his relationship with her died a natural death, if a bit quicker than it might have come about with out Rhee in the picture, and he's had those 3 years to mature more. Complaint for this book would be that at the end when everyone was shooting and kidnapping, it got heck-a confusing! Any who, I liked this book a bit more than the first, not sure if there will be another but it feels like Rhee and Dax's story has a good ending spot.

I liked this book in the series a littlee more. I guess there was a little more drama. Plus I was wondering if Dax would find out Rhi’s secret about their daughter. Seeing Dax’s reaction to his daughter—how he was unsure about how to act around her—and his obvious anger at Rhi for leaving and not telling him about their child, yet he loved her and was drawn to her…

There was also suspense with the issues with the deal they were trying to do for the Phantoms.

I liked the crew that Rhi became close to. It was nice to see that she had found nice friends and protection in Hawaii since she had a young baby to protect.

I liked that Dax and Rhi ended up working everything out and got to have their child together.

I would say this one was about 3.5 stars since I liked it more than the first.

This could have been so much more. . .

I really loved the first books and waited for this one to be released. While I liked this book I was disappointed. I missed the interaction between Rhee/Rina and Dax . The characters just held-on to the hurt, anger and guilt through most of the book. They never did establish the connection that they had brewing in the first book. The disconnect between Dax and Wince is disjointed and undeveloped, but maybe it will be resolved when the Phantom Club resolves their secrets.
I did love the Island club, Turtle and his guys are great, I hope we can get more of them in the future along with the beloved landlady-parent.

I like this book, but I’m hoping the next one is better

Rhee has flown the Phantom's coup and is now on her own. She has no idea what she is doing all she knows is that she needs to find her missing sister. As Rhee moves on she realizes that maybe her life isn't as perfect as she thought. Dax is on a mission to get back his life from her. She left him and now he must move on until he sees her again and now he must get her.

As the story goes on we see how damaged these 2 characters really are. I was most fascinated with his denial of being a parent. I also see that she needs to open herself up and start communicating more. I mean we get nothing if we don't try right?

Overall I enjoyed the characters and story line I was really saddened that we could not find the sister however I am hoping for her to have her own book soon.

This book continues with Dax and Rhee's story when they finally reunite after 3 years and he discovers the secret she's been keeping. This one was very action heavy and less romance than the first book. I got a little lost with all the club business and action/violence type aspects of the book and wanted to skim past it to get to their re-union and love story. For me personally, what was really lacking in this one was the romance and focus on their relationship. I hope the next one will have more when they finally find out what happened to Mickey.

3.5 stars, it's good but not really my favorite.

It's a continuation of Rhee and Dax's story. You have to read the first book before you jump to this one.

Rhiannon is pregnant and she's running away from Dax. Until one day he found her accidentally and find out her big secret.

To be honest, the story is predictable and cliche. But with the way Jayna Vixen write, I enjoyed it. I liked the ending, I just Dax could be less annoying and demanding. He's angry, I get it, but he should have give her a break.

Overall I loved it. Look forward to read more from this author.
