Mammoth Cave: The Story Behind the Scenery

Rate this book
From the time-worn dirt left by ancient rivers to the slender stone pillars of a gothic chapel, the cave seems to whisper the best-kept secrets of the ages. Mammoth Cave National Park, located in south central Kentucky, was first set aside in 1926. In 1972 it was pronounced the longest recorded cave system in the world.

Mammoth Cave, KY is one of my favorite places to visit. While this short non-fiction book is a great starting point it just doesn't do it justice. I really need to plan a trip down there sometime soon...

3.5 stars. A decent overview but I think I have a better book back home.

While the info about the cave was interesting and I liked learning more of the history, the writing in this book was absolutely abysmal!
