Levi might be hot, strong, and have a cool set of wings, but it's not enough to make up for keeping Allie in the dark.
Allie's tired of being left with more questions than answers. She's tired of loving a guy who refuses to level with her. Most of all, she's tired of her life spinning out of control.
Desperate to save Jess no matter the personal cost, Allie has to face the possibility that the only one she can trust is herself.
Alyssa Rose Ivy is the bestselling author of more than forty novels with over one million books sold worldwide. She loves to weave stories with romance and humor, and she is best known for writing about college boys with wings. After surviving law school and earning her masters in library science, she turned back to her creative side and decided to write. Although raised in the New York area, she fell in love with the South after moving to New Orleans for college. She lives in Alabama with her two children, and she can usually be found with a cup of coffee in her hand.
I'm going to give a bit more away about the plot than I did in my first two reviews. The paranormal element is unique in this series but when this last cover was released I saw a bunch of comments from people that don't like angel books. So I want to explain that Levi is not an angel but a Pteron. A bird hybrid, crow to be exact, and as we learn in this book there are other types of Pterons that have other colored wings besides black. He is the prince of a supernatural society. Pterons marry humans though and Levi finding a mate is important to his society.
Allie accepted all this better than I expected. But in the first book Levi still withheld some very important information. Allie has forgiven him and it would be hard not too because it is so clear that Levi truly loves her and would do anything for her. Allie can be stubborn and frustrating though. She often picks fights with Levi over a lot of little things. They are usually quick fights though because Levi is hard to resist. But I really really love their relationship and will miss them after this book. They are a fun couple and Levi always has me laughing or swooning.
The secondary characters are also a lot of fun which is honestly usually rare for me to find in books. I usually don't even mention them but Levi's friends Jared and Owen are great and Jared is definitely a scene stealer. Hailey is a great best friend to Allie. Such a great friend that Allie wants to stay in the dorm with her instead of moving into a big new house?!? That was part of Allie's stubbornness and personally I thought she was a bit cray cray! I'd be packing my bags! Like sorry Hailey!
As I said Levi is very important in the supernatural society and therefore Allie is as well. Allie figures out she has an even bigger role. Which draws some unwanted attention from her ex-boyfriend and some pterons. It was an interesting twist to Allie. I did like how the villain turned into a hero at the end. I loved how Levi would give up anything to protect Allie. I was a little unsure if the society or Allie was more important but Levi cleared that up for me and the interview proved it further. I love the paranormal aspect to this series and would still have liked to learn more about it so I am happy there will be a new spin-off series called Soar. I basically loved everything. It is rare to find a unique paranormal world and I am excited to see even more of it!
--- "It's going to be hard enough to explain to her that her future grandchildren are going to have wings."
"It's very real. It's also sturdy. You can ride it if you want." I laughed. "The only bird I'm riding is you." He chuckled. "I love when you talk dirty."
"A reminder?" "That you will always come first. The Society, the crown, none of that matters as much as you do."

Here is my character interview with Levi from my blog!
Hi Levi! I'm so happy to have you stop by the blog today! For those just now meeting you, can you tell us a little about yourself?
Levi: Hey Jennifer. Thanks for having me. I’m Levi Laurent, and I’m really just your average guy—well except that I run The Society and can fly.
What do you like best about yourself? Least?
Levi: I like my strength, and if I had to pick something I didn’t like, it’s that I’ve hurt Allie in the past.
Biggest fear?
Levi: Losing Allie.
Is there anything you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t done?
Levi: I’ve never been sky diving (JK)
If you had one wish, what would it be?
Levi: To spend the rest of my life with Allie (It’s a wish that will come true).
When you become King what are you most and least looking forward to?
Levi: I’m looking forward to finally running things my way. I’m not looking forward to how much of my life it’s going to take over.
If you were a regular person and not a Pteron, what would you do with your life? What occupation would you want, and how would you spend all your time?
Levi: I think I’d just focus on business. I already do some of that with my job, but it would be nice to have more time to spend on it. I’d probably still travel a lot, and my guess is I’d be more into sports.
What do you do when you are bored?
Levi: Fly somewhere new, play basketball, play video games, annoy my roommates.
So I've been wondering, when did you first learn to fly?
Levi: We learn real young, but we’re not allowed to do it on our own until we’re older.
Allie seemed to adjust to you being a Pteron well, but were you worried about telling her?
Levi: I had a good feeling about telling her. She just seemed like the kind of girl who would like the idea. I was a little bit afraid she’d run away screaming—but I had a plan b to get her back of course.
Most romantic date?
Levi: Nothing beats a rooftop date. I have several planned for Allie as soon as things settle down.
Now last but not least the most important question on all our minds...boxers or briefs?!
Levi: Boxers.
If Allie doesn't want to be your queen I just wanted to let you know I would be willing to fill the position ;-)
Levi: Thanks, but Allie’s going to be staying around.
I have absolutely one hundred and ten percent LOVED The Crescent Chronicles!!! Never mind the fact that it took place in New Orleans but Pterons are freaking HOT!!! The entire series was so well written and I was so invested and genuinely interested to see what would happen, that it is just sad to think that it's done now.
At first I was like oh wow the last book is out and I felt all...
Then I finished it and I was...
And also thinking...
But not in a bad way... I guess when you have something good, you always want more. So you can imagine my excitement when I went to http://www.alyssaroseivy.com/p/the-em... and saw this...
I know it will be new and different and probably follow one of the other characters but the fact that I don't have to totally say goodbye yet just makes me feel...
Have I mentioned how much I LOVE this series? This book was EPIC! And, I'm not over exaggerating. I LOVED every second of this installment.
Allie is such a sassy character. No one gives her enough credit, though. She's smart. She would be great in the Pteron royal society.
Then there is Levi, sigh. He's amazing and sexy and sweet. How could anyone not love him? He treats Allie like the princess she is.
I especially love how Alyssa character builds. Even new characters are so seamlessly blended into the story. I felt like I knew them even though they were just introduced into the book.
The storyline to this book was by far the best of the series and the most satisfying. I'm hoping Alyssa doesn't stop at this book because there are so many great things about this series to still explore. This book gets five glittery stars for being Epic, awesome and downright fantastic!
My Review, July 16th: After that awful cliffhanger in Focus, having to wait to read Found was difficult. It was especially difficult because I really love this series, and I love the characters. The first one was good, the second was even better, but this third one left me with a bittersweet feeling. The ending was fantastic, but I'm still sad that it's over. I'm sad that the series is over, sad that I'll have to say goodbye to the characters I've come to love so much.
Found was wonderfully written and tied up all those loose ends so nicely. The characters had closure and the story had closure. It's the kind of ending that you want in a series.
The Characters: Allie: She's the main character, as the story is told in her voice only. Throughout the books, she grows as a person, as a friend, as a girlfriend. After a rocky start to hers and Levi's relationship and after he literally traps her into a marriage with him, that trust has come back tenfold. She goes through so many emotions in the book, from anger and sadness, to worry and fear. But Allie is strong, stronger than she gives herself credit for. She's determined to rescue her friend, and she's determined to set things right with her and Levi. She may have gotten over the fact that he didn't tell her about what the ring meant, but there's still an obstacle standing in their way. I mean, two obstacles. (You'll see).
Levi: Oh, Levi... *swoons* He's one of those bad boys that I just love to read about. I've loved his character growth throughout the books, and he's come a long way. He absolutely and truly adores Allie; she's it for him. She's the woman he wants by his side when he's crowned King. While he's made some catastrophically stupid decisions and has a tendency to become jealous within two seconds, it's clear about one thing. Levi loves Allie so much that he'll do anything for her, and he'll do anything to protect her. If that means keeping secrets, then so be it.
Honestly, I don't get their relationship sometimes. Haha, I'm not kidding! Allie has a tendency to overreact when Levi tells her things, and Levi also has this insane jealousy problem. But, it works for them. They somehow manage to convince me that their relationship is real and true. That they love each other so much they'd do anything for each other.
All of these characters have such awesome personalities. I love it when all of the characters are interacting with one another. I think my favorite parts of the book are when Allie, Levi, Jared, Owen, and Hailey are all together. Their friendship and camaraderie makes me smile. :) It was also nice to see the family dynamic of the Laurents and how they interact with one another.
The Plot: Allie wants to do everything she can to rescue her friend, Jess, who's being held captive by her crazy (and Pteron) ex-boyfriend, Toby. But something like this can't be rushed, and until then, she needs to keep up appearances and enter into the world and politics of the Pterons. But what she really wants to know is if it's more than coincidence that the only two men she's been with have been Pterons. She's like a magnet for them, and we find out why. The mythology of what she is dates back to the beginning of this supernatural race. And when they found out what this means, it creates many more problems for them. As Allie becomes impatient while waiting for Levi and his father to figure out how to rescue Jess, she decides to take matters into her own hands (because this is exactly what her personality is like; she's very strong-willed). She feels helpless, and she's scared, but she has a plan. One that could either going incredibly right or incredibly wrong.
The Writing: Oh, I just love Alyssa Rose Ivy's writing style. It's hard to create such lovable characters when there's only one voice that's telling the story. But she manages to give all of her important characters (because they are all important) personalities. And Allie's voice flows nicely and makes the story that much better.
My Thoughts: What can I say that I haven't already said? I was really glad when the author explained things that happened in the second book. She didn't go into detail, but since it had been a few months since I read Focus, it was nice to have that reminder of what happened. The book hooked me from the first page, and I didn't want to stop reading it. The story that unfolded before my eyes was well-written and the plot was paced fast. Yet, even the slower parts were important and drawn out nicely, especially Levi and Allie's scenes. So romantic! Like I said, I don't get their relationship sometimes, but I love it. I love these Pterons and their supernatural world.
This is my favorite shifter series. <3
July 13th: I'm still in love with this cover, and I'm so excited to finally read this one.
*** I want this book. Like, right now. Holy hell, that has to be Levi. Although, I wouldn't mind it if he were Jared.. ;) July needs to come faster!
{Please do not read my review if you have yet to read book one and two, it will contain a spoiler for book 2}
Things are finally going good for Levi and Allie. Like really good. There is only one damper...Toby is holding Jess hostage until Allie comes to her senses and returns to him on her own free will. There is only one problem with that. Allie is in love with Levi and wants nothing to do with poor delusional Toby.
Soon questions start to plague Allie. How is it that the 2 guys she has ever been with are both Pterons? When Allie goes in search of answers, the ones she finds may not be what she wants to hear. What if Allie and Levi weren't meant to be together? What if their love for each other isn't real? And why the flip is it so hard for Levi to be upfront and honest with her??
Man oh man how I love this series. When the finishing of the first 2 books of the series came, I would impatiently wait for the next one to come out. Seriously, I'd be itching with anticipation for that next book to release. Now that it is over I am saddened. I am happy with the turn of events and all that. But so sad that it is finally over, never to hear from the characters again. Or will I? Ivy announced on her blog that there will be a spin off. *THROWS CONFETTI* What does this mean? It means new characters to love, old ones to reminisce with, and hot, scorching romances are to be had! Yes, romance is a given when it comes to Ivy. This chick knows how to write hot, romancy books.
Boy did I fly through this one. I think it took me just under 3 hours to finish this story. I started around 10p at night and finished just before 1a. There was no way I was putting this book down for anything. It was demanding I ignore any and all distractions, and I happily gave in. I flew through it and finished with an outrageous smile on my face. This series is absolutely one of my most favorites ever. No doubt about it. So thank you Ivy for creating a fabulous series.
If you are reading this review and haven't had the opportunity to read the first 2 books...well, shame on you for reading my review. I believe I warned you not to read due to a possible spoiler. But since you have read it, then you most definitely need to get to cracking on this series. Like now! If you've read the first 2 books of the series, then you already know that it's a given you have to read this one. Enjoy!
*Sighs* Levi I missed you! Actually I missed the whole gang but mostly Levi. Allie she's still Levi's world (*sighs again* wish it was me) but anyway she seems to always be reassuring Levi things in this book it's interesting to see the roles reversed, "you may not have been my first Pteron, but you're my favorite." Levi that boy is still head over heels in love with her and a lot more protective, "this has nothing to do with a lack of trust. I just don't like anyone looking at you that way." Jared (hot damn I can't wait for his story!) is still the goofball out of the group, "please don't make a huge deal out of this. Who cares that you like sex with him transformed and your favorite position is -" And Levi's Granny god that woman I hated her at first but she grew on me she really did, "of course I did, Leviathan. Quit wasting your breath on such pointless questions." I'm sad to see Allie and Levi's story to end but I'm sure we'll see them again especially with so many characters that we want to know about I'm sure they'll maybe be some spinoffs (I'm hoping.) There were a lot of unexpected events happen in the book that made it an interesting read so I hope everyone gets a copy!
4.5 Stars! I fell in love with this series and with Ms. Ivy's writing after the very first book. To say I adore it and the characters she created would be an understatement. I truly have so much fun reading with each book and I have anxiously been waiting for the release of Found. I couldn't get my hands on it soon enough and after having to read through a few earlier commitments, but the time I was able to pick this up, I was going crazy having to know how it was all going to end and sad that it would be the end.
I would say that I read this series solely for the loveable sexiness that is Levi but the truth is, I read it for all the fabulous characters, and fabulous they all are. It is hard to find a tight knit group as loyal, loving, and fun as there are in this series. Every single one of them has gotten better and better as the series and their stories have progressed.
They have all become stronger, fiercer and more capable and even more loyal to one another. They all have a bond of friendship that can not be broken and I absolutely love that about this series. I love watching characters not only grow stronger but grow closer to one another as well.
It is rare that there isn't a lot of drama when you put a big group of friends together, and while these friends do have their problems, they work through them together and come out better for it and their bonds even stronger. How could an author ever go wrong with friendship and relationships like that?
While I didn't start this series and stick with it solely because of Levi, he really is a big part of why I love this series. He is so true and kind and loving to Allie and even though he doesn't always make the right decisions when it comes to her, he does it always out of love for her. He really stepped up in this one and showed just how much he loves her, cares about her and trusts her.
Allie too grew as a characters, as a friend and as a princess. She too doesn't always make the wisest choices or even the best ones but again, she does it all because she thinks it is what is right and she does it for those that she loves. I love how accepting she finally is of Levi, his lifestyle and her future life with him. She really brings it as well and I was thrilled with how this ended.
I am even more excited that there will be a spin off series. I want more of the Pterons and I wasn't ready to completely say goodbye to all of them. I can't wait for more.
What a sexy cover and I love those black wings. Finally the exciting conclusion! I delayed reading this last book because I didn't want to part with the gang. They made such a great team! But I needed to see how Allie and Levi would get their HEA (I know from reading Lure).
After finding out Jess has been kidnapped, Allie was basically told to sit tight while Levi got his people to investigate. I didn't like how he always seems to be telling Allie what to do :( Of course, we all know she's not the type to sit around and wait for results so she devises her own little rescue mission. Her plan was bold since it involved both Toby and Cade (the other two potential heirs to The Society) but it worked out... mostly.
It was hard for me to believe how Allie could attract three young and hot Pterons but then we learn . Her ability sounded so crazy and specific but it made complete sense. Allie's illness also came quite suddenly but I suspected the cause as much. Since Levi took a shortcut in asking Allie to be his mate (basically he didn't give her a choice), it made sense their bonding wouldn't work properly. Yes Levi, that's what you get for being dishonest.
In the end everything worked out nicely. I have to say though, the ending felt a little too easy. Not a huge deal but I wish it was a little bit harder.
I found out on Goodreads, there's another spinoff series (not The Allure Chronicles) called The Empire Chronicles? I'm kind of nervous after reading the synopsis but Jared's in it! I've always found him interesting so I definitely want to get to it. One can never have enough of the Pterons ;)
I read the first book, and I was unsatisfied because clearly, the story didn't end there. So I read the second book, but it only built up my frustration. Finally, here I was devouring the third book (so to speak) and... Err, well, after all the build up I kinda am disappointed.
It wasn't bad, overall it was kinda fun (although Allie really did annoy me half of the time. She made the stupidest decision, but she doesn't assume it or blame them on the others, she's stubborn and frustrating as hell ! Oh wait, I think I just found my fictional sister...). There was some sappy stuff but we can't really avoid them, right?(and everyone isn't always sappy-phobe as me...), anyway I found it a bit annoying how she gets all the guys, that's one cliché I really get tired with. And after the two first books, I don't know, I expected a more spectacular ending, maybe ?
So... I'd say I didn't not like it, but it wasn't really great, not in my opinion. Anyway, it was a rather fun book to read and it entertained me for the time being, and really, it's enough.

Sorry but I can't finish this book. It's just too empty for me to connect with. There are still no descriptions on the characters, places or anything really. The characters are still weak and the story is repetitive, within 2 pages of entering gatherings, parties or night clubs the main character seems to leave after some short pointless drama, then it's a rush to the bedroom were the creepy, controlling Levi tells her whatever lies she wants to hear just to get her clothes off. The small twists in the story are interesting, but I'm going to have to Google it, I just can't read the rest of this book.

Found is the third book in the Crescent Chronicles and it wraps up Levi and Allie’s story. I enjoyed seeing how they were going to get out of the mess they have found themselves in and also to see the connection between Allie and Levi deepen, however things did feel a little too neat by the end. Toby especially didn’t appear to stay in one character and he was very amicable all things considered. I have enjoyed this series and love that the secondary characters will be able to continue with their own spin off.
This review is for all 3 books, Flight, Focus, and Found.
I didn't love the first book, but I was interested enough to continue on with the story for book 2 and 3. I enjoyed the premise, and I always love a story based in New Orleans. The author did a good job of making you feel her love of the city. What I didn't like is that sometimes there was absolutely no transition from one scene to another. I would be reading and then have to go back because I thought I missed pages. It was confusing at times. Still, I liked the paranormal world and the characters were pretty good.
I have read some reviews that say they didn't like what Levi did, and it was pretty sneaky, but it didn't put me off the story. In fact, it made me curious to read book 2 to see how she would handle it. Overall, I finished all three books and was happy with the way the series ended.
I am going to be brutally honest right now. I expected better. The author came up with this hidden little supernatural society in New Orleans. She brought us new paranormal creatures, or at least ones who aren't overused (*cough* vampires...*cough*...angels). The series was coming to a climax, and I was let down. I haven't reread any of the books. So the last time I read the series was the day of the release from the second book. None of the details were fresh in my mind when I picked up this book. I think that the author forgot that every book (no matter that it's part of a series) should be written as though it was a standalone. None of the characters were brought to life. They all stayed two dimensional ideas that spouted words.
The plot had something to it, but it wasn't brought to its full potential. I feel that if the author gave her self more time to write it, (including the periods between drafts when you let your book cool off, so that when you come back to it you can spot what needs to be changed) it would have made a difference.
I don't know if I'll read her other books. Part of being an author is knowing when it's too early to release a book.
Reading this was bittersweet for me, just like eating a chocolate strawberry. I am sad that this is the end of Levi and Allie's story, but Alyssa has written it so wonderfully that I am left with such happy feelings. This was most definitely a satisfying ending for the trilogy.
Allie was particularly independent in this novel, and I liked seeing that. She took matters into her own hands, especially because things seemed to revolve around her. She was selfless and brave and risked a lot to get her friend to safety. I felt like she was truly acting as the Queen she would become.
The romance between Allie and Levi was as swoony as always—that is, when they weren’t arguing. Regardless, they are one of my favorite couples of all time, so I hope that they end up making cameo appearances in the spin off series, The Empire Chronicles. It is seriously heartbreaking to let them go.
Found was an amazing close to an absolutely fantastic series. Any fans of Alyssa Rose Ivy should definitely hop onto The Crescent Chronicles train—and if you haven’t read one of Ivy’s books thus far, this series is a great place to start.
The final installment of the series finally resolves the questions left in the last books, but does it in a Mary sue manner in which none of the characters grow. The narrator still acts without thinking, still refuses to trust others to do what is necessary, and winds up being entirely unworthy of the hero who has waited for her for what we learn is years. Once again Levi is the shining part of this story. Through the series we watch him grow from carefree playing, to Prince to a king ready to lead his people. His story is beautifully flushed out revealing a flawed yet courageous leader who continues to sacrifice for his mate Ali, even when she refuses to do the same. Hopefully in the future the author will invest as much detail into the narrator's character as she did his. And be prepared for lots of unnecessary scenes that play no part in character or plot development.
February 7th: Absolutlely gorgeous, mouth watering, cover! Levi is incredulously hot ;) Can't wait for this book to come out! :D
July 19th: REVIEW
OMG. That was amazing. Beautiful. Awesome. Fucking hilarious. It made me giddy.
And now.... Now it's over. I have to say, I'll truly miss Levi with a passion. I'm super curious and beyond excited for what Alyssa Rose Ivy has in store for The Empire Chronicles. I feel like I can't contain my emotions! Found was just thrilling! It was even more funny, with even more steamy romance, and exciting revelations. It was actually a terrific ending to the Crescent Chronicles, even if the story was only three books long. I'm super happy that Alyssa Rose Ivy is making another Pteron chronicles because I honestly can't get enough of this stuff!!
Found is the third and final book in the Crescent Chronicles. If you haven't read any of the books yet, I highly suggest you do so. It's addictive. After seeing the cover, you may think that the series involves angels/fallen angels, but these guys are something different entirely. Now, don't get me wrong, I love a good angel story, but it's nice to have a little something unique thrown into the paranormal romance genre too. This series is a must read! The ARC of Found by Alyssa Rose Ivy was provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.
In Focus we were left with a cliffhanger that took my breath away. In Found, the third and final installment of Alyssa Rose Ivy’s Crescent Chronicles series, we see that cliffhanger resolved as well as follow Ali and Levi’s journey to peace in their relationship. Keep in mind this is no easy journey. Filled with loads of suspense, danger, scorching hot chemistry, and incredibly funny banter from some supporting characters, Found is sure to satisfy your reading needs, creating an enjoyable read from start to finish. The ending could not have been planned out any better! A wonderful series! Highly recommend!
It can't be over!!!! Ok so we all knew it was going to be over but still!!! This was such a bitter sweet ending. I loved how everything came together and the twist was good. Glad to see a happy ending and again i am really going to miss these characters. It's going to be interesting to read the next series. I hope to see some of these characters in them. Cade was a good addition and seeing Toby's character change a million times into a decent guy was interesting. Oh Ms. Alyssa of course you did it again! You WoWed me and of course I will stalk your blog till the next book comes out!!!
Loved it. Stayed up super late to finish it tsk tsk. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it held surprises and never left me hanging. It seemed slightly rushed toward the end in regard to wrapping up a side character and such, but other than that, I thought it was well paced. It had good voice and I felt it was believable. Not every detail has to be explained because real life doesn’t work like that- hence the believability. Mood and tone were consistent and enjoyable. A+ entertainment. Favorite part was the love story and the tone and culture of the story.
Adding a review for this as I've rated it without a review.
A lot of things have happened since. 2014 Was a very hard year for myself so all the reviews are showing up on the same date. I can't explain why they are, if the ratings are justice or accurate I can also not say when I truly read these. I'm just going to say 2014 on the same day added just to keep the year right if not the month...
I couldn't put this down although the heroine really annoyed me and there was something missing in the story, in my humble opinion, I liked the end, so that's the reason I'm giving this book three and a half stars.
This series was interesting. It took a little while to get past the wings (I kept giggling every time they were mentioned. Not sure why). Anyway, the story was good. I'd recommend it :)
