A man whose lifestyle is so different from her own…

Nic Dalton’s cupcake bakery is thriving. She serves both rock stars and locals alike, content with her growing business. But one adventurous night out with her best friend, Bailey, turns her life upside down. She meets a handsome stranger who makes her skin sizzle and her heart race. Their one night together is explosive and unexpected, but when he has to suddenly leave without taking her phone number, Nic resigns herself to never seeing him again.

…What will it take to trust and submit to his every desire?

Matt Montgomery is one of Seattle’s finest. He works hard, loves and protects his family fiercely, and is loyal almost to a fault.

And he has a penchant for bondage.

Matt enjoys the way a woman looks wrapped up in his ropes, and makes no apologies for his preferences. When he meets Nic at a fetish festival, the small, beautiful woman catches his eye, drawing him to her. His one night with her was everything he’s ever looked for in a partner, but is cut short because of a family emergency. Even before he sees her again weeks later, he knows he’ll never get her out of his system.

And he’ll do whatever it takes to make her his.

“Give in to this, Nic. Let me prove to you that I will be one of the best decisions you ever make.” –Matt Montgomery

What I expected:

What I got:

Moral of the story?

This series has been hit or miss for me. While I loved Rock with Me (With Me in Seattle, #4) by Kristen Proby , I wasn't particularly fond of the rest of the books. I suppose I need to be in the mood for a fluffy read and sometimes it works...and other times it doesn't. But here's the thing; BDSM and Fluffy? NOT a good mix.

I originally DNF'd this at 50%, but then some newly formed OCD (I blame you Mirjana and Crystal!!!) and a hint of masochism forced me to finish this.

Here's the thing, just because BDSM has been mainstreamed doesn't mean that every author is able to write it. And if you are going to write it? Don't gloss it over or tip toe around it, do the genre some justice. Now maybe I'm a kinky bitch, maybe I'm a picky bitch. Whatever the case may be, as much as I was anticipating this book after the sneak peek in the last one, I was left grossly disappointed.

WARNING: Rage-y spoilers below

So we have Nic. Nic is a straight laced vanilla girl. Nic doesn't do kinky. Nic is certainly not submissive. But Nic goes to an Erotic Ball (of the BDSM variety) with her friend. And within a few minutes, straight laced Nic allows a total stranger to tie her up in a demonstration. Said stranger then tells her he'd like to fuck the shit out of her. So she lets him take her home still tied up in the ropes!! Oh, but it's OK, because he tells her he's not an ax murderer.

In case you're curious, said stranger is good old kinky Matt. He likes his sex dirty with a bit of bondage mixed in. Oh and Matt is a Master Dom. A TRAINED Master Dom. Matt also says this
In clubs, safe words are mandatory, so if we ever go to one together, your word will be ‘red.’ The second you say ‘red,’ everything stops, no questions asked. But, honestly, the way I feel about safe words is, you shouldn’t need one with me. It’s my job to learn what you can handle and what you can’t, and I’m a firm believer in ‘no means no.’"

No shit? Really?

Apparently Master Matt is also a mind reader on top of his Shibari skills. Oh and of course, scening only happens in BDSM clubs. No need for a safe word when you're doing a scene outside of one...

Now Matt is not exactly a hearts and flowers forever type of guy. His other family members may have married off, but he's not planning on changing his status any time soon.

But then a few short days and some awesome sex later...BAM! The flowers are blooming, the birds are singing, and the hills are alive with the L-words. Does he really know her? Not really. So I just have 2 questions here

As for Nic. Nic was the most contradictory character I've ever read about. She says that she's vanilla and straight laced, but lets a total stranger tie her up and then take her home. She says she's shy, but then on another occasion lets Matt strip her in front of strangers at a BDSM club and then tie her up again.

All the while Master Matt decides he's too possessive of her to have others see her naked or touch her, so no more BDSM club for them. He'll still tie her up and shit and maybe throw in a spanking here or there.

Nic is brooding away because for some mysterious reason she doesn't think she's good enough for Matt. Little by little we find out what that reason is. But does she tell Matt? Fuck no. She loves him too much to hurt him and doesn't think she's good enough for him. So what does she do? Leaves him without saying one word.

Of course they work it out in the end and there's flowers and rainbows shooting out of unicorn asses all that jazz. As for my thoughts at this point?

I can tell you I will very likely be in the minority with my opinion. I know a lot of my GR friends really loved this one. But this particular kinky bitch has been spoiled by the Cherise Sinclair's, Lexi Blake's, Kallypso Masters' and the likes. So suffice it to say, this book did not do it for me.

If you like fluffy romances with a little kink thrown in, you'd really enjoy this one. As for me, I think I'm done with this series.

5 ‘tie me up’ stars!!!

It is no secret I am a huge fan of the With Me in Seattle series. After reading the second book (Fight with Me), I was hooked. I love the Montgomery clan and I feel that each book gets better and better. It’s so hard to chose a favorite brother or book, they are just all so great. When I heard Matt’s book was next my first thought was ‘YAY! The kinky brother!’. Was he as kinky as I expected, no. But it still had K. Proby’s steamy writing and I was not disappointed!

Matt Montgomery is a Seattle detective. He’s a nice guy, kind, caring and hard working. He meets Nic at a fetish festival. Matt isn’t into pain or anything like that, he just likes to be in charge, and he really likes bondage.

Nic owns a cupcake bakery. She loves what she does, but she works all the time as a new business owner. It leaves little time for men. Her best friend Bailey has her tag along to this fetish festival. Even though she’s not into any of it, she goes.
I’m the least kinky person on the planet. I’m so vanilla, I smell of it.

When Matt see’s Nic, he is instantly attracted to her. He wants nothing more than to tie her up, use her during his presentation. She lets him. The attraction is mutual. Even though it is very out of character for Nic, she invites Matt back to her place. He normally isn’t the type to come on to a woman like that, but Nic does things to him.
“I don’t typically come on this strong, but I want to fuck the shit out of you right now.”

Unfortunately, Matt has to rush out to an emergency, and doesn’t hear from Nic for a while. When he see’s her again at his brother’s wedding, he is stunned. Matt knows Nic is hesitant to be with him again, but he’s got to find a way to make her his.
“Give into this, Nic. Let me prove that I will be one of the best decisions you ever make.”

 photo 7cd1d84e-1a37-4e63-ae27-1e33099d7c54_zps29d30666.jpg

I love how persistent Matt was. Even though he’s been a bachelor for a while, once he found Nic, he just knew. He’s a Montgomery. He found his one and he wasn’t about to let her go.

This series makes me so happy. I know each book is going to be HOT, funny and low on the drama. Sometimes you just need that kind of read. They are feel good books for me. This particular book had me in tears towards the end , but I mostly kept a smile on my face the entire time.

All the guys are so different, but they do have some things in common. They’re all alpha men, caring and kind, yet still dominate. The women aren’t push overs. They are fun, spunky and independent. Family is so important to this group of people. I think momma Montgomery summed it up perfectly-
“Whether it’s through blood or pure love, family is family.”

Kristen Proby has a knack for writing steamy scenes. I’m talking hot hot hot! Matt and Nic have some crazy hot chemistry. If you’re looking for a sexy and sensual story, this is right up your alley.
“I can feel how fucking wet you are, little one, but apparently I need to remind you who you belong to.”

 photo 789db385-e0cb-4e7a-aaee-7395f30e03e5_zpsa1f5c54d.jpg

As I stated earlier, this isn’t an extremely kinky book. If you’re going in with those expectations, you may be disappointed. There isn’t a ton of BDSM, just some bondage and a bit of control in the bedroom.

Tied with Me is aother 5 star Montgomery brothers book! I’m excited for Mark’s book next, then Dominic. I’m also hoping we might get an Asher book in the future (Matt’s cop partner). Maybe I’m just stretching... I don’t want this series to end! To sum it up, if you’re looking for a sexy, heartfelt, funny series, I highly recommend these books!

“I don’t ever want to lose you, Nic. You put your arms around me, I’m home. I’m permanently in love with you. Don’t ever forget it.”

Tied With Me is the sixth book in the With Me In Seattle series. Every book in this series is a complete standalone novel and there are no cliffhangers. It is not necessary to have read the previous five books in the series to fully appreciate this story.

“Give in to this, Nic. Let me prove to you that I will be one of the best decisions you ever make.” –Matt Montgomery

Kristen Proby is one of my go-to authors when I find myself in need of an alpha hero that I know I’m going to love and a fantastic, sexy romance that will completely fulfil me and that’s exactly what I got when I read Tied With Me. I’d just read a book that had disappointed me and this was the perfect remedy – Kristen’s never yet let me down.

This time it’s the turn of Matt Montgomery who we got to know a lot better in Caleb’s story, Safe With Me but he’s always been a bit of a dark horse. He’s one of Seattle’s Finest, a detective, and has always been very serious, very sober and not very forthcoming. He’s been the quiet observer for many books and his sexual proclivities have only been been hinted at but I’ve been dying to get up close and personal with this dominant man.

Of course, he’s totally gorgeous with those delicious Montgomery genes. He’s a dominant but he’s not too hardcore – his penchant is for seeing women in his ropes. He’s not a sadist and he doesn’t carry his kink through to the rest of his life– he just likes to be in control in the bedroom and, oh boy, is he delicious when he’s doing it!! I really enjoyed the sex scenes in this and if you’re worried that you’re going to be pushed a little too far outside your comfort zone, don’t be – there’s nothing too extreme here, just a few restraints and a lot of domination. It’s sensual and hot and you’re going to love it!

 photo tiedwithmeredribbonquotey_zpsdb16e302.jpg

Matt first met Nic at a fetish festival and the prologue fills this in beautifully for us. Nic doesn’t believe herself to be submissive – for varying different reasons that you’ll learn as you read the book, she needs to keep her life in control. Giving up that control to someone is terrifying to her and something she tells herself she cannot possibly do so she runs from that sublime first encounter that she had with Matt but she cannot get this dominant man out of her mind and running into him again at Caleb’s wedding has her on the run once more!

“Nic,” he whispers and kisses the corner of my mouth, then sweeps his lips down my jawline to my ear. “I don’t typically come on this strong, but I want to fuck the shit out of you right now.”

Matt’s not about to give up – he thinks he’s found the perfect woman and he’s not letting her get away that easily and so we embark on another winning Kristen Proby erotic romance and this woman never fails to deliver and Tied With Me is surely going to be another massive bestseller for her.

I enjoyed every second of this – found myself grinning goofily at the Montgomery clan and their get togethers, revelled in the growing relationship between Matt & Nic and enjoyed every second of their story. It’s hot, it’s sensual and I just couldn’t put it down. Deep at the heart of every Kristen Proby novel is a beautiful story of love and affection and that’s exactly what you get with Tied With Me with the added bonus of some very sensual dabbling in the world of BDSM with a strong safe, sane and consensual message.

And of course, you still get her trademark humour……

Well, let me put it this way. I wouldn’t say she’s a slut, but her favorite shade of lipstick is penis.

That line really made me giggle. So, in conclusion, another fantastic winning romance from Kristen Proby who is definitely the Queen of elegant smut for me!

4.5 kinky stars

***5 "Little One" stars***

The Montgomery family is one of my favorite fictional families. Their dynamics make me wish I could slip between the pages and be part of this family. My favorite Montgomery brother is Will (Play with Me).

Matt Montgomery has been promoted from police officer to detective by the time we see him in TIED WITH ME. He's the one brother who dabbles in BDSM. He's the master of rope binding - Master Matt.

Nic is an independent woman who owns her own cupcake bakery and is determined not to let anyone control her.

Things I love about this series:
♥It's filled with alpha men and strong women.
♥Very little angst, if any
♥Comforting to read because I know what to expect

This is Matt Montgomery and Nic's story...

Matt Montgomery is the Detective of the local police department, he cares for his family, he's quiet, cool, collected and doesn't give much away but he does give out to his parents, his brother's, his sisters and protects the people he's closest and dearest too. But he has a side to him that only a select few know about he's into the sub/Dom relationship he's into ropes and is skilled at it, but he doesn't have a girl until Nic walks into that erotic festival and well the sparks fly.

 photo 18571459-9D8B-4C91-929E-CB855C9FF6CA_zps1qcmmxtd.jpg

Nicola has control over her life, she doesn't have a big family that she's close to, she works hard and has worked hard for what she has. She owns a cupcake shop, she bakes them all herself and also works hard to take control of who she is and rarely lets go and lets anyone else take that role on for her. Then she meets Matt Montgomery also know and Master Matt and he lets her explore that sub side to her that Matt wants to show her.

"Talk to me," "I don't like losing control," she whispers. "I have to have control of my business, my financial life, my health, everything, Matt."

 photo 1DD43B02-BBFC-40B1-A001-8436229718DB_zpscqw7vl7q.jpg

"God, I love this with you," he whispers as he traces the ropes with his fingertips. "You're so fucking beautiful."

 photo F8A58877-DCC5-4BED-9D6B-747F995B2E55_zpssorypm5v.jpg

"I've been sleeping with her." But that doesn't sound right. I've been more than sleeping with her. I've been consumed by her, falling in love with her."

"Give in to this, Nic. Let me prove to you that I will be one of the best decisions you ever make."

So you get the gist...

My thoughts

This story is once again a delicious read that consumed me and gave me that smile at the end, there's a few mis-communication problems along the way but nothing too in depth. I will always come to Kristen Probys books when I'm wanting a giggle, some hot scenes, some beautiful men, sexy women, friendships, family it has it all. I always love coming back into the Montgomery family reunions and equally especially this time Matt's bond with Caleb shined for me.

 photo 07C357B6-BBCA-421A-81E6-20E43187590F_zpsg41sbjgu.jpg

"Uncle Matt is at twenty!" Josie calls out. "Daddy has nineteen!" maddie adds. "I'm going to beat you, little brother." "Bullshit," Caleb replies. "Daddy has to put money in the swear jar!" Josie announces.
 photo moneyjar_zps5f2552c7.jpg

Now coming the the Dom/Sub part of this story I wouldn't really class it as a BDSM book by no means its more about control on Matt's part, it's about Matt and Nic's enjoyment in the bedroom and the kink they need and enjoy which let me tell ya I enjoyed immensely. Matt is definitely my kind of guy, he was caring, loyal, loving, and strong and he takes the control away from Nic and lets her be consumed and loved by him.

5 Kinky Stars!

Nic is the proud owner of a bakery and cupcake master and she lives a quiet life devoted to work. One night, her best-friends challenges her to go to a bondage club and she ends the night having an oh-so-hot one night stand with an even oh-so-hotter guy.
Some days after, when she is in Brynne and Caleb’s wedding (after all, she made the cake!), she meets him again. And finds out that he is but brother of the groom.
Matt regrets deeply the night he met this girl and due to an emergency had to leave before taking her number. Luckily, destiny was on his side and he ended up finding her in his brother’s wedding. And this time, he has no intention of let her go.
Matt is a Dom Master, Nic is uninterested in that stuff. But when he finally convinces her to visit his world…. It will be a hell of a ride!

What can I say?? One of the best book in this series so far.
(I know, I know. I keep saying that!)

description

Rating: 5 Stars.
Storyline: A very sweet and romantic story. Exactly as we came to expect for Kristen. And with seriously hot moments.
Writing Style: First person. Dual POV. Amazing and addictive. I truly believe that soon, Kristen Proby will be the reference author every time we want to read a romance book that will leave us with a warm feeling on our stomachs and a smile on our lips.
Character Development: I LOVED Matt. Loved him, definitely paired up with Nate and Will in the hottest guys in this series. Nic was pretty good and I liked her a lot. As for the supportive characters? C’mon! We all would gladly cut our big toe just to belong to this family!
Steam: Hot.

Well, i can say that because it had those ridiculously hot Montgomery men I couldnt say I didnt like it, but I can say that I really thought this was going to be so much more than it was.

After getting a sneek peak into the family protecter Matt's potential bedroom preferences at Caleb and Brynna wedding, I was so fired up to get into his story. I was not prepared for Master Matt to be so damn sweet and so accomodating. He has to be the nicest dominant ever! In fact, I dont think he is a dom...just a really good guy who has a tendency to protect everyone he loves...he just happens to enjoy a little bondage! lol!

When Matt meets local cupcake genius Nic at an adult expo it leads to an unexpected romp that leaves both baffled.

She is shocked at her enjoyment of things not so vanilla, he is shocked that he wants more than one night with her. Obviously through family connections they were bound to meet up again...and oh damn was it fastball into complete "need you," "want you," "in love with you territory."

So nothing wrong with good romance! I like a good guy with a good family. I like open communication and I love a man putting forth effort. All of that is good...but I did not expect it! I wanted a hardcore agressive Matt. I wanted melt my kindle sex. I wanted a good push-pull relationship. Instead it was honestly a sweet, mediocre relationship with fast love, little angst, and scarce humor that i am not used to in this Proby series!

Matt is the quiet one out of all the Montgomerys but they say you have to watch out for the quiet ones. Just by all the bits and pieces we got about Matt through out Fight With Me and Rock With Me and the title of his book, he seems like the tie you up and have my ways with you type...YES!!

Kristen Proby does it again! The With Me in Seattle Series just keeps getting better and better!

We've all come to know and love the Montgomery Clan over the last five books, Matt Montgomery's story has to be one that I was anticipating the most (a very tight race between his story & Caleb's). We've gotten to know very little about Matt thus far, we know that he's a detective and very protective of his family. The serious one that is quiet and the one you can always count on, we've seen glimpses into a a kinky side that has been teased throughout the last few book; we finally get to see just who Matt is with this installment.

When bakery owner, Nic is dragged to an Exotic Expo she not only is shown a whole new lifestyle but she meets a man with 'ice-blue eyes. The kind that pull you in and drown you in their depths.' One look at Matt and she is lost in a pure physical reaction. What starts as a demonstration of his ability of rope play quickly becomes a heated exchange that has them rushing towards the closest bed. But when he gets a phone call that pulls him away, Nic is convinced that he is not the kind of guy to give a second thought. But while setting up the wedding cake at Caleb & Brynna's wedding, escaping the man that she willingly submitted to seems impossible.

As Matt works his way into her life he has to set the pace to ease her into a relationship that may be equal in most places, but in the bedroom he calls the shots. Nic's slowly discovers that ignoring her desires is not an option when it comes to Matt Montgomery, but in a relationship that requires absolute trust and honesty; the damage her secrets may cause are her greatest fear. And that fear might cause her to run.

To say I love this series is simply not enough. Each story Kristen Proby gives us gets a little more steamy and sensual and the writing stays completely top-notch. As she veers into the world of light BDSM relationships with Nic & Matt, we get to see a bit saucier side to Ms. Proby. But it isn't just the story you get with these two that make this series. It's the entire gang. I love each one of these guys and being able to see them continue on with their lives, not just as background noise to the story. And we don't just get glimpses into their continued happily ever afters; they continue to have problems and struggles that allows them to stay close to our hearts as we continue on this journey.

Although Matt does have a fetish for bondage, it did not turn his character into some ultra-dom behind closed doors. He stayed true to his kind and caring roots, while remaining the possessive-alpha-male that Kristen Proby writes so well. His true colors and personality never wavered once during this read. The drama that comes with each one of these stories has all remained original, there is no repeat of issues as can sometimes happen in a series and there were no times where the story felt anything but authentic.

We didn't get the orgasm talk, but we did get a little reminder of someone's particular cock flair and a great one-liner...

"Well let me,put it this way. I wouldn't say she's a slut, but her favorite shade of lipstick is penis."

Kristen Proby writes her heroes perfectly, all male, hot and when it comes to the women they love; protective and completely romantic. However, what this series delivers perfectly are strong heroines that you wish were real because they would make amazing friends. These women are not weak, they may fear the intense love they feel as they fall in love and they may have things in their past that cause them to be timid when it comes to taking the leap; but they are absolutely full of strength.

Another stellar installment to one of my all-time favorite series. I am forward to Mark's story and then the anticipated addition of Dominic to the fold. I know that with eight books set for this series that we can't expect Kristen to continue to create more characters to ensure we have years to come, but I am not sure if I will be ready to say goodbye later this year when the final announced book is released. After all, we have been given plenty of new Montgomery babies to provide for at least another few years of stories.

4 ½ stars – Contemporary/Erotic/BDSM Romance

I love this series, and I’ve been eagerly awaiting loyal cop and brother with a kinky bedroom side, Matt’s, book.

I really enjoyed this, but I did have a few minor quibbles that kept me from giving it 5 stars.

*Matt’s nickname for Nic, “little one”, wasn’t sexy or romantic to me and kind of gave me an icky feeling.

*I wanted more background on Matt’s .

*Nic’s reason for holding back from Matt and freaking out and was irrational and felt like contrived drama.

So, it’s not my favorite of this fabulous series, but Matt can still tie me up anytime! 4 ½ stars! I love the extended Montgomery clan, and I can’t wait for Breathe with Me and Forever with Me.

I think this book is all levels of complete sexiness! Matty is my new favorite brother (don't worry I am not leaving Nate, Will, and Caleb too far behind!)
There were so many great moments in this book for me. I thought both Nic and Matty are steaming with sex appeal. I tried to read this one slow... but alas I finished before 3 on the first day.

Thanks Ms. Proby - you are so incredible! I love your stories EVERY DAMN TIME!

The Montgomery Family........if you are a Kristen Proby fan, then all you have to say is "Montgomery" and you know that the With Me in Seattle Series is a gem. Every book is its own star but what you also get is the rest of the constellation as you read each book. Every book has the entire family sprinkled throughout. Because when there is a family who dearly loves and cares for one another, they are always close and involved!!!

This book is about Matt Montgomery. He's a cop and he likes to be controlling in the bedroom. This book is very light on the BDSM but very heavy on the romance. He meets Nic at a fetish party. Nic is a baker and owns her own cupcake shop called Succulent Sweets. Nic is not into fetishes but comes with her best friend. She is intrigued and somehow she gets "Tied Up" by Matt during a demonstration. That exchange leads to explosive sex but Matt is called away before he gets Nic's number. They are destined to meet again and do so at Matt's brother's wedding. Nic wants nothing to do with Matt even though she has thought about him every day since their encounter. Matt is determined to see Nic again and so their courtship begins.

I will say that Matt knows his way with ropes.....

Nic was not too sure about Matt's controlling ways but she found that she felt safe with Matt. They have wonderful chemistry. As with these series, there is a little drama along the way but you know that HEA is soon to come.

I will say that I loved the other books just a little more. This was a fast and easy and fluffy read. I loved this entire family and am looking forward to Mark and Meredith's story.

This is book 6 in the With Me in Seattle series and I still eagerly anticipated this book just as much as the others. And more importantly, I didn't come away from the experience slightly disappointed that it wasn't quite as good as the previous books. On the contrary, I was fully satisfied with this perfectly matched couple and once again, all the Montgomery clan with all of their sweet, funny, and sexy members.

Matt's key characteristics:

Calm and self-controlled
a detective
loyal
a big fan of total honesty and trust
smoking hot (He's a Montgomery. What else would he be?)
protective
really, really into bondage.
extremely close with his entire extended family.

Nic's key Characteristics:

Sweet
beautiful, tatted and pierced
Independent
Baker and cupcake shop owner
talented
brave
a little shy

Matt and Nic meet at the Seattle spring erotic festival. Nic was dragged there by her best friend Bailey who thinks she needs more excitement in her boring and uninspired life. Not only does she never do anything but work, she has no love life. And when she did, the last thing she would call herself was kinky or unconventional.

I'm the least kinky person on the planet. I'm so vanilla, I smell of it."

Now Matt, on the other hand, likes his kink and his particular kink comes in the form of rope. Shibari. (Japanese rope bondage). He is technically called a Dom because of his mastery of the art, but isn't fully committed to all the typical practices and beliefs a Dom would have. His interest is purely in getting the woman's submission and therefore, all of her trust while he ties her up and has his wicked (and very talented) way with her. He's not into bossing anyone around for the sake of being in control or controlling anything outside of the bedroom. That's what I liked about him. He was always focused on how to take care of her inside AND outside the bedroom, but purely from a protective standpoint.

When they meet at the erotic festival, they feel an immediate and intense attraction and they impulsively go home together. Nic has one of the most erotic, yet unsettling sexual encounters of her life. Seeing as she's always viewed herself as "very vanilla" she's a little shaken to find out how much she enjoyed Matt's dominance and bondage. And not altogether happy about it. When he gets called away on a family emergency, they are separated through a misunderstanding until a few weeks later when she bakes the cake for Caleb and Brynna's wedding.

Matt is thrilled to see her again, but she's wary and edgy. She's not about to enter his world with all his preferences. It couldn't possibly work in the long term-she's sure of it. They're too different.

"It'll never happen. Leave it be, Matt."
And with that she drives away.
Not a chance in fucking hell am I going to leave it be.

Yeah, Matt's not the type to let anything get in his way when he wants something. He's a detective, a dominant, and when he makes his mind up on something, he makes it happen. Once he gets past her initial hesitancy, they embark on a tentative relationship. It explores the ins and outs of the dom/sub relationship and it's many variations (depending on the individual's preference), bondage, and just getting to know each other and their collective friends and family. The sex and steam are as always, off the charts. Loved their sexy times. It steamed up my Kindle.

Matt comes to see that not only is she everything he's been looking for in the bedroom, but they have a lot in common and are a natural and beautiful fit outside of it as well. She's sweet and funny, strong and independent, and she gets along great with his family-she even plays the piano and works on a song with Leo and Meg. (The musicians in the family) They just fit. He falls hard and isn't afraid to say it or show it. I loved that about him.

You're amazing. I don't have time to untie you because if I don't get you out of here and home in the next ten minutes, I won't be responsible for my actions. I need to be inside you, I need to love you and an hour in a private room isn't going to do it for me. I need to get you home so I can spend the night showing you what you mean to me.

And Nic is feeling just as pulled toward him.

I feel full, Matt. Physically and mentally. I feel like we've turned a corner that we can never turn back from, and I'm terrified and excited at the same time.

Remember when I said Matt is big on honesty and trust? This is where Nic has some issues. She's not fully able to share some things about herself and it causes their main conflict in the story. She has to learn to open herself fully to him and fight for what she wants.

I really enjoyed this latest edition to the series. It had all the humor and sexiness of the previous books but the erotic factor was cranked up a notch. I loved keeping up with all the rest of the past characters and extended family. My one complaint would be that I would have liked to have seen a little more conflict between Nic and Matt. This by no means takes away from my high opinion of the book. I give it a solid 4 stars with no hesitation. If you haven't started on this series, you really need to jump on it.

Tied With Me is another sweet and sexy addition to the With Me in Seattle series with a side of kink to spice things up. I enjoyed listening to this audio book!

This is Matt’s story, he is the second oldest Montgomery brother. We saw a lot of him the last book, Safe With Me because as a detective he was protecting Brynna but also because him and Caleb are best friends. I’ve been really curious about him since it’s been mentioned here and there that Matt has particular tastes in the bedroom, so I was definitely expecting this to have some kink in it. It turns out Matt is a master in the Japanese art of Shibari, which is a type of rope bondage.

Nic owns Succulent Sweets, the cupcake bakery that many in the family frequent. When doing a wedding for one of the Montgomery couples, she runs into Matt and immediately bolts, making everyone wonder what that was all about. It turns out, they had met weeks earlier.
Bailey, my best friend, talked me into attending the Seattle spring erotic festival. How she managed, I have no idea. I’m the least-kinky person on the planet. I’m so vanilla, I smell of it. Or maybe that’s just because I bake with it all day.

Matt and Nic had quite an intense, lust filled first meeting that ended with them hooking up, but Matt had to rush out unexpectedly without getting her number, so they haven’t been in touch since. It’s clear from the moment Matt sees Nic again that he is not letting her get away and he’s determined to spend time with her, both in and out of the bedroom.
“What are we doing, Matt? Is this just a sex thing? Because taking me to spend time with your family kind of pushes whatever we have going on into a different area.”
“This is not a
just sex thing.” He frowns deeply, watching my face. “I’m sorry if that’s what you thought. The sex is amazing, but I want to pursue a relationship with you, Nic. Wherever that takes us. I thought that’s what you wanted, too.”
“I do.

There is a bit of reluctance on Nic’s part before she fully understands what Matt’s intentions and needs are. Even though he’s considered a Dom, he’s pretty laid back about it. Yes, he’s alpha and likes his control in the bedroom, but the BDSM aspect is very light. Trust and communication are the most important things for him and I loved that he was so sweet and understanding but at the same time demands what he wants.
“It’s my fucking job to keep you safe, and knowing what you need and want is a part of that. You need time to get your head on straight? Fine. I’ll leave you alone for now, but I’m telling you right now, you are mine. Nothing will ever change that.”

Things move fast as usual, with lots of sex/dirty talk and sweet moments too. There’s a bit of a rough patch and some martyr-like tendencies by Nic *sigh* but for the most part this was just a quick, sexy read with a side of kink and I liked it a lot.

2- 2.5 JUST OKAY STARS

It was alright. I really wanted to like this as I've been a fan of the series for a long time. Although there were funny moments and I loved revisiting the Montgomery's and their extended family again, I found Matt and Nic's story a little on the boring side.

Nic was so judgmental about Mat's lifestyle. I didn't get much of a feel for her friendship with Bailey. Still not quite clear on her family life. One minute she's saying how her mother gives her a guilt trip for moving away from them. The next she talking about how not all families are as close and supportive as the Montgomery's. Then the whole drama she created kind of sent me over the edge. It was an easy conversation to have and yet she made it so much more difficult than in needed to be, in my opinion.

Matt went from zero to sixty in a matter of minutes. One minute he's going on about having no intentions of ever getting married or tied down. The next, he can't stay away from Nic. Staying up 24 hours in order to help her out and taking her with him when members of his family have happy or sad occasions. It was just such a quick turnaround and no hesitation on his part at all.

Look, it was a sweet romance, but I wanted more of the Kristen Proby magic. And I have to say when I read that there was going to be a more intense sexual element to the story, I was thrilled. I don't really call what happened in the book that at all. Some light bondage with some alpha tendencies... maybe.

Not bad at all, but not what I expected. I just think Ms. Proby should stay in her lane and go back to doing what she does best, which I like.

I happen to like the family and the characters... but this series has been up and down for me.

This was not a favorite ... it was like our author wanted to dip into the BDSM wave and it felt a little like BDSM 101 with a purposeful way to make it as non-threatening as possible for the author's targeted audience.

EXCLUSIVE First Look at BREATHE WITH ME (Mark's story book 7) coming March 24th to Shh Mom's Reading

Tied with Me by Kristen Proby
Matt and Nic's story
http://amzn.to/1h8j7P4

Well.. well… we finally get Matt Montgomery's story, the second oldest Montgomery brother, the brother's whose lifestyle has been hinted out in a few of the prior books in With Me in Seattle series, scenes that have made for some of the funniest moments in the series.
For those of us who have been dying to get to know Matt and to see Ms Proby write about a dom, let's me say this book does not disappoint, it hits the ball out of the park!

In Tied With Me, Matt meets the missing ingredient in his life in Nic Dalton; the owner of the cupcake store that readers have seen in prior books in the With Me Seattle series.

I loved the prologue of this book, it pulls the reader right into Matt's world while allowing them to get to know Nic. The book then throws you right into the Montgomery family craziness as the story picks up at Brynne and Caleb's wedding a scene we saw part of in the prior book Safe With Me. Ms Proby adds some wonderful moments to this milestone event moments that include a heartfelt and make me smile speech from Matt, Caleb's best man.

Matt and Nic go from a moment of deep to connection, to misunderstanding, to Nic struggling to come to terms with what it means to be in Matt's life.
The reader is allowed to clearly understand Matt, and his kink as Matt shows Nic his lifestyle he does it with words and actions. This ascent of the book is something I thoroughly enjoyed as Matt leaves no room for guessing as he is very clear with what he wants from Nic.
Matt is a man any woman would want by their side, I adored how Matt was so much more than just his kink for bondage. The man who played such a key part in the Safe With Me and in bringing Caleb and Brynn together fights for his own happy while showing the woman he wants what it is like to be cared for and cherish and yes loved in the bedroom and outside of the bedroom.

This book was a wonderful combination of new characters to love and visiting with characters who already held a place in my heart. Nic's best friend Bailey, was used so well throughout the book to help the reader understand Nic's mindset and emotions. Bailey is someone I hope Ms Proby will decide to write more about!
And speaking of characters I want more for, please please Ms Proby write a happy for Asher and Casey (they are not what you think, yes you will have to read the book to find out more because I am not telling you).

There were so many wonderful scenes in this book that reminded me why I love this series; it is amazed to me how Ms Proby builds unique relationships between each of the characters; I love Will having Matt and Nic over for dinner and Caleb's one on one with Matt both sets of interactions showed that these characters are so well developed.
In true With Me in Seattle fashion there were also group scenes; the pool scene with the whole gang was so enjoyable, containing the masterful Proby character interactions those who love her writing have become accustomed to layered with a turn of events that turns a fun day into a powerful interaction.

Tied with Me was more than just alone scenes or group scenes; it was a true glimpse into Matt's life. His interactions with Will made me love Will even more and the use of Caleb the brother Matt was closest to provided for wonderful moments that made me giggle, smile and forced me to remind myself that these characters are not real (ok maybe they are because they do live in my heart).

Tied With Me also brings the reader a wonderful though at times heart in your throat moments with the couple who started it all, yes the reader gets Luke and Nat front and center for a pivotal scene that reminds all family is about love, those who support you and those who would do anything for you. Nope, again not telling you what happens, just that it truly adds to the story.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book as Ms Proby's talent for weaving a wonderful story into a hot read was again present in this book as the use of Matt's kink and his visits to the club opened a door for the author to paint vivid mental pictures for the reader as Matt shows this new world to Nic.
Also, the author use of "Kaleb" a book by Nicole Edwards was a wonderful addition to the story, opening communication between Matt and Nic.

The With Me in Seattle series has slowly shown the reader the matriarch and patriarch of this family, Steve and Gail; well let me say I love Gail even more after this book. Tied with Me provided the reader with a scene that allows Gail to transcend her place in the background and thrusts her into the forefront of the story and the how do you get to happy part of the book. No, I am not saying more except I love Gail and I loved her making it so clear that family is what you make it.

Speaking of the happy, I loved the end of this book. It was so true to the characters build throughout the book!

I also want to add though they say never judge a book by its cover; in this case the cover is just as hot at the contents inside and truly reflects the two main characters inside! I hope more authors take this approach.

Thank you, Ms Proby for Matt Montgomery and now please go write Mark; Breathe With Me (with me in Seattle book 7).

Tied With Me is the sixth installment in this sexy and fun series set in the beautiful city of Seattle. This is Matt's book, he is one of the older siblings of the clan, and the last to find love and book I have really been scared/yet super excited about his book. In the previous books, its obviously been hinted that he is a bit more selective in his tastes when it comes to sex and has never found a woman that he could have a real relationship with. My heart has ached for him because he has seen his siblings find love and wonders if he will ever be so lucky....aww!!!

So the story begins with a unique encounter between them. Nic Dalton is a baker and owns a cupcake bakery that has been used in previous books and I just love this gal. She is so fun and sweet. She is pretty down to earth and chill. Her closet mostly consists of pajamas and her bakery uniform. She doesn't wear fancy dresses or goes all out because her bakery is her life. But her best friend, who likes the "kinky play" drags her to this fetish festival and yeah Nic is DEFINITELY out of her element. She is very very "vanilla" sex and didn't even know why or what many of these things are that she sees. But there is one man that intrigues her, who is a master at rope tying. And he samples his tastes on her in front of people....something she thought she would never do. And after a night of passionate sex and the most sensual night of her life, Matt gets called away on a family emergency and she never thought she would see him again. So life goes back to normal somewhat until they bump into each other at a wedding for Matt's brother and sister in law and boy the chemistry is off the charts.

Nic is very honest with Matt in how she feels about kinky play and she isn't sure that she could ever be enough for Matt. She doesn't want anyone to control her life and she refuses to be a "slave" for anyone, even if he is sexy and sweet like Matt. But Matt convinces her to take a chance on him and so they begin "courting" each other and exploring Matt's ropes.
Give in to this, Nic. Let me prove to you that I will be one of the best decisions you ever make.

I have to say that I have read only a handful of BDSM themed romances and I was very impressed with "Tied With Me" and this book definitely rocked my world. I just loved everything about this story. I feel like this one was a bit more lighter compared to other BDSM romances out there. Because Matt just prefers his women to be tied up and Nic is definitely okay with that. I really liked how Matt is with Nic because even though they have powerful chemistry, we also see a strong friendship form between them. Matt is such a "Good" man, he is a cop and is very protective but I also love how he encourages Nic to be herself and see the "beauty" beneath the surface.
Whether it’s through blood or pure love, family is family

I don’t ever want to lose you, Nic. You put your arms around me, I’m home. I’m permanently in love with you. Don’t ever forget it.

I truly couldn't get enough of Matt and Nic's story, because there were so many sweet heartwarming moments that just makes you smile and *sigh* in pleasure because you don't want their story to end and seriously I could probably listen to this again because I loved it so much.

Every time I read another book in this series I'm left with a big silly grin on my face. Matt and Nicole's story was no different.

 photo ThisiswhatIcallbeinghappy_zps23ed5544.gif

Matt was always a bit of a mystery in the prior books. You just knew he had a dark side (I mean that in the best sense of the word of course-Wowza!!).

I adored Nicole. She was such a wonderful heroine who wasn't weak yet was able to show her vulnerability and kind hearted towards everyone around her. She was an independent woman who had a successful business and a wonderful BFF. I loved her sense of humor and great banter with Matt. I wanted to hug her when she opened up to Matt . Of course his response didn't disappoint.

Matt and Nicole's initial meeting was HOT! Their chemistry was immediate and Matt assumed his role as Dom to perfection. His bossiness in the bedroom left me swooning. [Sidenote: Where can I sign up to have Matt tie me up? Please?]

Matt and Nicole's journey evolved into an extremely sweet, passionate and lovely story.

It's always such a treat to have the rest of the Montgomery clan playing a big parted in the stories. I laughed myself silly many times and their love and devotion towards each other is heartwarming.

If you are a fan of this series, you are going to love Matt and Nicole's story.

I thought this was a fun, entertaining addition to the Seattle series, and I'm sure fans of Kristen Proby will be happy. My favorite books in the series are Fight with Me and Safe with me, which is a good thing because I think Will gets all the love and attention. Nate and Caleb are tied for my favorites:) KP books are very predictable, and she has her own brand of smutty writing. This book fits perfectly with her typical stuff, and it is definitely not unusually kinky. That is coming from someone who has never read a BDSM book. I don't have a problem with that, I just don't think Matt was into that lifestyle enough to base the plot of the book around it. I liked both Matt and Nic and enjoyed the book, it just wasn't my personal favorite.

I would recommend someone new to the series try Fight with Me or Play with Me first and if you like that, you will probably love the series. Her books are fun, romantic, and smutty in a cheesy way. She has never written a book without many references to how " wet and tight" they are, they have supernatural amounts of orgasms ect. You know what I'm talking about:) Her books have very little angst, and when problems arise, it's quickly resolved. I love the books anyway, and have read them all.

I love this series! Going back to it is like comfort food – comfort food that is full of romance, sex, smoking hot guys, and a hilariously rude and crude bunch of girls. Love. It!

This time around, it’s Matt’s turn! One of the quieter Montgomery brothers, he is the second eldest, a dedicated detective, and has a previously undisclosed penchant for kink. A bit of ‘something’ was hinted at in the last book between Matt and bakery owner / cupcake chef, Nic, and this book takes us back to their very first encounter.

During their first meeting (during an erotica convention, no less!) a very vanilla Nic is having her eyes opened by her best friend when they run into Matt, who is a master at Shibari - an ancient form of Japanese bondage, and a way to get freaky with ropes in the bedroom. Sparks fly, body parts start tingling, and pretty soon it’s…

"I don't typically come on this strong, but I want to fuck the shit out of you right now."

Phew! Yeah, Matt is not shy about getting what he wants, and the two of them share a very intense, very passionate hook up. It’s weeks before they see each other again – entirely coincidentally when Nic bakes the cake for Caleb (Matt’s brother) and Brynna’s wedding. There’s obviously a very strong attraction between them, and Matt, entering full-on alpha mode, has no intention of letting Nic get away from him.

I really like this relationship. First and foremost, it’s all about communication, and Matt is completely honest and open with Nic about how much he wants her, his preferences, and what that would mean for her. Nic likes control, and is not cut out to be a submissive, but Matt is on the tamer end of the BDSM scale, and doesn’t want to fully dominate her, he just wants to push her limits and take charge in the bedroom, and although wary, she trusts him and is willing to give it a try.

And HOLY HOTNESS! Matt is quite the dirty talker, and yeah, he likes his kink. Like other books in the series there is lots and lots of sexy time throughout the book, and Matt’s kink, and his fondness for tying Nic up at every opportunity with whatever he has handy, is mixed in really nicely with Nic’s more vanilla style, with both of them being willing to explore each other’s preferences – although I was a little shocked and how quickly she embraced certain aspects of Matt’s lifestyle .

But it’s not all about the sex. Matt and Nic share a very strong connection, and that grows into something incredibly deep as they fall hard and fast for each other. There are lots of sweet moments with them together, both of them having the opportunity to be there for the other, and they laugh and tease and are very affectionate. Matt even calls her “little one”. Awwwww.

“You put your arms around me, and I’m home. I’m permanently in love with you. Don’t ever forget that.”

There is no real story outside of the romance and the goings on of the extended family and, once again, I loved the opportunity to catch up with the couples from the previous books. The big family get togethers are always a highlight in these books, and as the group grows, it just gets better and better. The boy talk and the girl talk is always hilarious, and I love how nothing is kept secret between them with talk of tattoos, piercings, and sex, all out in the open, and no topic of conversation is off limits.

“Let me put it this way. I wouldn't say she's a slut, but her favourite shade of lipstick is penis."

The story is short, and moves really quickly. The romance is gorgeous, with plenty of opportunities to get all swoony over Matt and his dominant yet sensitive ways. There is a bit of heroine stupidity, but thankfully Matt is alpha enough not to let it become too big of a deal, and it’s resolved fairly quickly. Overall, it’s a sexy, fun read, and a great addition to the series.

4 stars.

This was a perfectly fun, slightly kinky, low angst romance.

A police officer who is a Shirabi Master and a woman who is a baker who has diabetes and PCOS, which was super unique and I loved it.

But then...... it had a very underwhelming conflict in the 3rd act... like since when do we need to have our kids be ours biologically. This is the most frustrating thing ever. Like... who does a plot like that any more?

So stupid. So it tanked for me.

Adoption is a thing. and the heroine acted like she has never heard of it before. So insulting. Sheesh.

so.. 3/5 stars from me.

3.5-4 Tie Me Up Stars

Not my favorite book in the series. Slightly disappointed, because I had high hopes for this book. That was probably my first mistake, but it won't be my last!

Don't get me wrong though, this was still an enjoyable read. There were a lot of aspects that I loved about this book, and then other areas that I wish were more developed.

The story of Matt & Nic goes a little something like this....

Within the prologue and a flashback in the very beginning of the book, we find out how Matt & Nic meet. Basically, Nic attends a sex expo of sorts with her BFF-against her will of course. While there she is exposed to the many kinks of the world, but hones in on the bondage area of the expo. This is where she meets Matt. Matt is a "master" in Shibari & while at the expo, he is able to artistically wrap Nic up in his rope bondage-clothes intact.

This leads to some horniness and then a one night stand. Unfortunately, an unexpected phone call has Matt rushing from her home, never to be seen again.

But wait...Nic is the owner of a small bakery and has designed the wedding cake for Caleb & Brynna. It's at their wedding reception that Nic & Matt have a run in with one another. Which is where their story is able to further develop.

What I loved...

The general concept of this book. In my opinion, this however, is just very mild kink. I did, however, like seeing a softer side to the BDSM world, if that's even possible to believe.

I also loved the twist on the BDSM world, mainly focusing on bondage, more specifically Shibari.

The scene at the "club." Now this was the kinkiest part of the whole book. However, I had a hard time believing this would happen within their relationship when it did, only because of Nic's "shyness." But, I'm really glad it did happen, because it was HOT!

I also liked the fact that the whole gang was incorporated into this book. It was nice to see how everyone else's relationships have developed.

Why not 5 stars?

I was really hoping that Matt would have been a touch more Dominant. Matt just enjoyed the rope bondage more than anything, and it appeared that this was in an artistic type of way. Don't get me wrong he did provide dominance in the bedroom, I was just expecting it to be more.

Matt also calls himself Master Matt at the sex club he attends, but I just didn't get that vibe while at the club. I would have liked to see more involved with this part of the story. Maybe I'm being too judgmental...??

I also wonder why his family had made such a big deal about his secrecy regarding the bondage from previous books. I was expecting Matt to be over the top alpha with a total fetish for a very "proper" submissive. When in reality, he provided moderate dominance in the bedroom and was completely vanilla out of the bedroom. Granted, yes, he is still alpha and protective, it just wasn't the over the top like is presumed.

Also, their love story was a touch too fast for my liking. Not necessarily insta-love for me, but some others may feel this way. I would have liked to see their relationship development a touch more slowly. Maybe I'm thinking along this line, because I read this book following a four book streak, KA marathon. So who knows?

The drama that ensued to "tear the couple apart" was not all that surprising. It was highly predictable, and did not provide me the type of angst I was looking for. Again, maybe this has to do with having my expectations too high. I did feel for Nic, I just felt it was a silly reason to cause so much drama over....

I also didn't necessarily like the drama that ensued with another couple from the previous book. I feel like we should have seen more with Nic & Matt and not the issues with.....

Okay, end of my rant. I'm a hard woman to please lately! Regardless, I will most definitely continue to read the rest of the books in this series! Okay, okay, I'm outta here.

I've been wanting to read about Matt since the second book in this series. When he comforted Jules when she felt bad for bitching at Nate.

So Matt is not who I thought he was. Don't get me wrong he is a freaking awesome guy, I'm talking about his sexual preferences. The fact that he has a little kinky secret kind of took me by surprise. And then I looked at the title of the book then the cover.... IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW!!!! funny how all the clues were there, but I never really looked into it.

Of course another GREAT addition to the series'. I enjoyed reading about Nic and Matt. Of course the other characters as well. I just love reading about then, and love that they are still a part of the story. I'm so sad when characters of a series don't really show up in each other's books.

As far as writing style, nothing has changed. It's still the same major drama-free style, which is why I love reading her books. Her books just make you giddy.

As for Dominic, wish I could have seen a bit more of him. I know that he's rich... Neil (Montgomery papa), hmmmm still kind of iffy about what he did years back. God I can't even forgive a fictional character, watch out people of the real world, it seems I can hold a grudge.

Enjoyed the chemistry between Nic and Matt. So happy that I finally got my hands on his story :)

can't wait for the next book!!

Very enjoyable read. I couldn't wait to read Matt's story because he seemed like such a sweet guy and a real catch in the other books and I knew that he was into some kinky stuff---and I was hoping it was not too kinky because I wanted to enjoy the story!:)

No worries--Det. Matt Montgomery was into a bit of bondage--particularly rope bondage (Shibari) and was a Master at a fetish club. He first meets the heroine, bakery owner Nic Dalton at a fetish festival. Nic's a petite, dark haired beauty who catches his eye while he's demonstrating his rope tricks at the festival. Nic is dragged there by her best friend Bailey, and Nic ends up doing something spontaneous with Matt that she'd never dreamed of doing. When Matt's called away on a family emergency without getting Nic's number, she figures she's just a one night stand. Oh, how wrong you are, Nic...

Nothing all that angsty in this one. Nic and Matt get along great, have loads of chemistry, and Nic really meshes with the other women in Matt's family. Matt's a dream, even if he does have that little rope tying quirk! He never pressures Nic into doing anything she doesn't want to, doesn't exhibit any asshat behavior, and Nic and Matt don't seem to have any "issues", except for some problems with her health that Nic likes to keep hidden. Matt likes to know everything about his woman, as Nic soon finds out...

If you liked the other books in this series, you're sure to like this one too. I enjoyed seeing Matt fall in love, and Nic seemed to be the perfect girl for him. My only quibble with the book was that I wanted to understand Nic's past a little better--I wanted to know more about her family and why she wasn't particularly close with them. Other than that, an easy, steamy read, and a nice addition to the series. 4 stars

3.5 RATING- I have mixed feelings on this. I'm a fan of the series and had big expectations for Matt but ended up feeling a bit disappointed. The writing was solid, I enjoyed the banter between the supporting casts of characters, but the romance was just....plain ole' vanilla. Sure Matt gets a bit bossy and he likes to use his rope but I feel like this was BDSM-ultra lite. I was hoping for something a bit more edgy and sexy. This was cute and sweet with a very small dash of kink. Before I got to the middle of the book I was feeling a little bored and was hoping the bakery would get robbbed or a car bomb would go off or something to help move the story along. BOO!

Overall, it's not what I wanted but it was a solid story and should work for those looking for a sweet contemporary romance with very minimal kink and not a lot of action.

“Is this the restraining portion of the evening?”

I’m going to be honest with you. I might have a little addiction to Kristen Proby’s special flavour of smuttilicious romance, her stories somehow always managing to melt my heart and turn me on at the same time. She’s dazzled us with a charming movie star, a tattooed rocker with a dirty mouth, a bossy businessman, a professional football player with a heart of gold, an ex-Navy SEAL, and now she is trying to further ruin us for all men by feeding our fantasies with a police detective with a penchant for bondage. Is this psychological torture ever going to end? What could be next – a Montgomery biker? Be still, my poor beating heart…

“Do you belong to anyone?”

Nic is the quiet and unassuming owner of a popular cupcake bakery, a woman whose tireless dedication to her thriving business leaves very little free time for romantic pursuits. Nic’s medical conditions have taught her very early on in her young life that her health would always be her greatest weakness, and that she could never count on having the type of future most women take for granted. Resigned to her fate, she has focused on achieving financial security instead of creating a family, knowing that there would never be anyone else to take care of her if need be, and that the only person she could always depend on is herself. When her best friend decides to inject some excitement into Nic’s uneventful life by taking her to the local erotic festival, what starts as “not her thing” ends up being the first genuine thrill she’s ever felt.

Matt Montgomery is a police detective, a natural protector and nurturer whose very particular Dominant tendencies in the bedroom have kept him from finding the right type of woman to satisfy both his sexual proclivities as well as his desire to form a family. He has always lived a double life, his romantic conquests never getting introduced to the rest of the Montgomery clan, his relationships kept short-lived and private. When Nic walks into Matt’s life, he is immediately drawn to her innate submissiveness and he wastes no time to make his desires heard.

“I don’t typically come on this strong, but I want to f*ck the shit out of you right now.”

She might not believe to possess a submissive bone in her body, but her body says otherwise and very soon they are exploring the kind of relationship neither of them has ever had in the past. It’s a game of give and take as neither of them are truly set in their ways, but they quickly find a pace to suit them both.

“I’d like to lick him. Except, he would rather tie me up. And the part that scares me is that I’d like for him to tie me up, too.”

But as soon as Nic’s life becomes filled with happiness and she starts picturing a happily-ever-after with Matt, her old insecurities raise their ugly head, making her deny herself what her heart aches for the most – a man who would stand by her no matter what and a family that would love her unconditionally. Family is the connecting element in this series, continuously intertwining these characters and their stories, and in this instalment, the focus is on what truly constitutes a family bond.

The bondage aspect of the story only adds a kinky component to the bedroom scenes, and it remains more of a spice rather than a full flavour until the very end. This is not what I would call a BDSM type of romance by any stretch of the imagination as none of the characters fully embrace the lifestyle or behave consistently in that manner. Matt’s dominance in the bedroom is more of an occasional taste for control between the sheets rather than an unwavering routine, as he rarely behaves like a true Dominant.

If I could wish for anything different in this particular book, it would be a somewhat richer plotline. All the focus is on the growth of the emotional connection between the characters, and I felt at times that a more plot-driven approach would have benefited the overall story. But apart from that, this is another extremely enjoyable instalment in the With Me In Seattle series by an author whose love stories continue to excite me and make me crave for more, and it is not to be missed.

“Stop trying to top me, stubborn woman, and enjoy.”
