The Secret Sisterhood of Heartbreakers has given Lucy everything she thought she wanted. Gone is the poor, innocent girl pining away for a guy who didn’t deserve her and in her place is a fierce, fabulous Heartbreaker with glamorous sisters, an unbreakable heart, and access to magic.

The only problem is this: Lucy’s floppy-haired, blues-playing best friend Tristan is in pai

I am such a huge fan of this series. When I read The Secret Sisterhood of Heartbreakers, I could not put it down! It was such an addicting read, and I was super excited to see a sequel. Squeee!!!

Right away I was struck with the whole reason why I fell in love with this series in the first place. I love this story because, being heart broken is something we can ALL identify with. Whether it was a cute guy, our best friend, a family member, whether it be something big, or small, we've all been hur

I was not going to read this book. I was not. I was not. I was not.
But then I read a synopsis that said Lucy does realize she may have may some bad choices so I thought maybe I'd give it a try.
And I'm glad I did.
Lucy, finally, starts to have some maturity in this book and thinks about the choices she has made. She has the realization that without an open heart, life is colorless and dull. Finally there is this epiphany:
"She was part of a group of girls who broke hearts on purpose to gain things

Cute! It wasn't wonderfully written or super deep, but it was definitely a fun read. Lucy actually had a bit of character development in this book, thank god! I didn't find her to be a wonderfully written character though. She is still a bit of a shell, which may have been intentional due to her lack of emotion. Also, it's never described what she felt when she gets her heart back. There was a wonderful opportunity to insert some of the emotion the book had been missing and the author didn't tak ...more

I think this and the first book should've been merged into one.

I never read the first book in the series, The Secret Sisterhood of Heartbreakers, and I don't think I will, knowing already what'll happen to everyone. Plus Lucy, the main character, I really think she'd just end up annoying me, with her lack of backbone with her ex, annoying emotional weepiness and having (view spoiler) An

Now that Lucy is a Heartbreaker her old life seems very distant. Gone are the days of pining over a boy or being heartbroken. Now thanks to the Secret Sisterhood of Heartbreakers Lucy's heart is unbreakable. Her life is glamorous. And Lucy has everything she ever wanted.

At least she thought she did.

Lucy's best friend Tristan is still brokenhearted and Lucy isn't sure she can help him. The glamorous life Lucy thought would be perfect is turning out to be a lot messier than she expected too--espec

So, overall, I liked the Secret Sisterhood of Heartbreakers books, but that is mostly because of the main character Lucy. Even in the first book, I was doubting a lot of the other sisters, and what they were doing with the magic, and it continues into this one.
But I connected with Lucy, and I felt that she had this desire to do the right thing, no matter the cost to herself, but that she really did not want to hurt others. Which made me wonder why she ever joined them because even the name sh

The ending still seems unclear with both books. The main character is very indecisive and tends to do reckless things. The ending seemed to tie some things to a close, but I still have many unanswered questions. The first book seemed to take things at a moderate pace, but this book seemed rushed. Lynn Weingarten's books are indeed interesting, but I personally have some conflicts and questions on the story. Other than that, I would say the book is alright. I would recommend it to girls who are i ...more

I thought this was a fun sequel that answered a lot of questions that I still had about the Secret Sisterhood of Heartbreakers from the first book. I loved the idea of the Breakies, and I thought it added a super fun, unique aspect to this idea of a group of Heartbreakers. I was really sad to see that Gil ended up being evil. She initially seemed to be a true friend to Lucy, and actually was the one to initiate getting Lucy's heart broken and used the diamond powder to make herself beautiful. I

My thanks to Lynn Weingarten and Goodreads First Reads Giveaway for The Book of Love that I won.

Mix magic, fantasy, romance and a story forms around Lucy the main character as she discovers belonging to the Sisterhood of Heartbreaks has some unexpected emotional side effects. The story is interesting with mixture of elements but some characters suffer being dropped as a result of the goal to win the competition for The Book of Love.

Not bad. I liked how Lucy finally breaks down the barrier around her heart and allows herself to fall in love with Tristan, but I didn't quite like the part where Gil becomes a villian. It was TOO much of a plot twist. Still, it's quite a fun read and I would recommend those who're looking for a nice chick-lit.

Sweet YA, even if nothing like Rainbow Rowell's. There's magic, heartbreak and love, what's not to like?

3.5? Not as much narratorial inventiveness as the first, but fun.

I see this is a 2nd in a series and haven't read book 1. So far I understand everything so seems okay that I didn't start with book 1.

This book is a decent read.

The Book of Love (The Secret Sisterhood of Heartbreakers #2) This book is for high school. Lots of drama and some sex. Not obvious but you know it is happening.
