The minute I started reading, I was hooked. On a dark and stormy night, someone knocks on the door, and he opens it to find a couple, soaked to the skin, the woman about to deliver her baby, asking for help. From then on, it is tension, and what can happen next. Loved it and will be looking for more of Deanne Durret's books.

Loved it!

Joe is a wonderfully developed character, someone I’d like to know. Matilda his neighbor is quite the friend. And since I live in Oklahoma City and knew people who survived the bombing it held special memories.

Lots of typos; slightly “preachy”; but an interesting read.

Wren’s Nest by Deanne Durrett is a great story of love, the love one gives and receives through helping others. Joe Chandler is fast asleep when a very loud knocking on his front door awakens him. He opens the door to find a young man and woman soaked to the skin in the driving rain. As they enter the house, Joe realizes that the woman is in labor but he is an ex-cop and has delivered babies before. The young man tells Joe that Blake Adams in Phoenix sent them. With this information Joe relaxes ...more

" Wren's Nest" by Deanne Durrett is positively a five star book. I was hooked from the first sentence! Of course I know the book was about keeping a newborn baby safe, I love babies and I like to read Christian/inspirational novels, so I knew this would be a winner.

Joe Chandler answers the knock on the door and is immediately thrown into a mystery! He tries to keep his house guests a secret but his neighbor discovers the secret and she is thrown into the mystery!

I did not figured out the hero

Well written, this book keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Joe helps out a young couple sent to his doorstep. While the plot twists and turns, the flirting with the idea of a romance between Joe and Matilda was a happy spot to the story, even though some of her actions are more of the "I Love Lucy" type, she is a lovable woman who wants to help Joe and the young woman who gives birth upon showing up on Joe's doorstep. This is a wonderful book that stands alone, but having rea ...more

I really enjoyed this book. I was pulled into the lives of the characters and the story line from the first pages. The story is a wonderful combination of faith, romance and suspense that kept me reading, and I read it in one setting because I didn't want to put it down. This is another one from this author that I definitely recommend, and I certainly will be reading more by her.
