This is a good old fashioned thriller, which I haven’t read in forever. I thought the book was very well written and flowed logically from beginning to end. There were a few parts I had to re-read due to me being confused, but the story line is pretty crazy, right!?

The characters are what surprised me the most. First I love all the names; an interesting character name always draws me in. I loved the way Dara and Byrne interact with each other. To me, Dara steals the show in this suspense novel.

'Good Gladys' is bit outside of my usual YA genre, but when I read the synopsis, I was immediately intrigued.

Sauce, an aimless thirty-something, has been spending his days working as an insurance investigator and his nights hitting the bottle. A few years before the start of the book, Sauce abruptly left law school to enjoy a whirlwind romance in the tropics with Dara. While he was away, his school kicked him out and his mother passed away, and then Dara disappeared. He's been trying to wash awa

I must say that this is a very unique book. It takes a spin on mystery like no other I have read...private investigation, old lovers needing favors, murder, seances, and mystery all in one book. I did come to like the book and all the characters, but I must say that through the first few chapters I was a bit confused as to what exactly was going on and what the author was really trying to go for in this mystery. It seemed at first like a mystery about to go i

When you see the cover or read the synopsis, they don’t do this book justice. A myriad of quirky characters, a séance, a psychic that may or may not be a sham, a murder mystery and a series of ‘calling in old favors’ all combine to make this an engaging and unique murder mystery. Renaud’s plotting is complex, but the story is so unique that even in the more confusing sections where the points of view and delineation of who does what is less clearly defined, you read on. And you are supremely gla ...more

great book!
totally unusual, a little crazy and for that, amazing!

Usually (well, more like ALWAYS) I read YA and Paranormal, so I was not very sure when the author asked me to review his book.

I read the synopsis and agreed but not really knowing what I was getting into. And I'm super excited I did!

Good Gladys is an "old school" suspense/ mystery book. I loved it!

The story is funny, fast paced, original and utterly entertaining. I was surprised chapter after chapter. I read it in no time!

"Good Gladys" is a wonderful read! There is so much action in it, I really loved it. With action I don't mean that obvious action like in movies out of that genre, but I felt with almost every character and I felt with what they where doing in a special situation. I was thrilled by reading the next chapter and next chapter and next, next, next that I kind of flew through the whole book. Almost everything in it is crazy and a bit weird, but THAT makes books interesting to me!
I loved the character
