Palehua by A.J. Llewellyn is the second book in The Last Warrior series which takes up from where the first one, 'Ailani', ends, with Lio, his lover, family, and friends, continuing on with their lives as normally as possible. A mysterious read with an exotic backdrop.

Not having read the first in the series, it took me a while to connect to Lio and Kord, and to understand exactly what it was Lio could do. As I read on, this became clearer—and more interesting. This wonderful sequel to Ailani: The Last Warrior held me in suspense as much as the first, but it added the wonderful developing relationship between Lio and Kord for me to enjoy. The two of them may have only known each other for a short time, but they are clearly meant to be together.

Lio is battling the paranormal enemies who confront him in the form of ancient curses, but he also deals with his life in the real world. From the crazy to the very loving, he adjusts beautifully to his new life.

Lio Paikai is settling into his role as a reincarnated loyal warrior of the last king of Hawaii as well as lover to Kord Ashley. He is growing closer to his father and his new family while distancing himself from his mother, Kalani, who refuses to leave him alone. When a woman falls from the sky and lands on his car, Lio finds himself thrown into a mystery that spans many years. Old wrongs must be righted or Lio stands to lo ...more

A.J. Llewellyn lives in California, but dreams of living in Hawaii. Frequent trips to all the islands, bags of Kona coffee in the fridge and a healthy collection of Hawaiian records keep this writer refueled.

A.J’s passion for the islands led to writing a play about the last ruling monarch of Hawaii, Queen Lili’uokalani as well as a non-erotic novel about the overthrow of her kingdom written in dia
