This book presents a short introduction to what 'attachment' means and how to recognise attachment disorders in children. The author explains how complex problems in childhood may stem from the parent-child relationship during a child's early formative years, and later from the child's engagement with the broader social world.
As the title says, it's a short introduction to attachment and attachment disorder, so the information in this book just has that purpose. It's brief and clear, but if you are looking to deepen more in this topic, try another book.
Either this was written for professionals, or the author was purposely trying to sound complicated. But the "meat" was definitely there, and I got some great ideas.
An excellent brief overview of the basics of attachment theory and it's history, with some guidance given for those who work with individuals with disordered attachment patterns.
