Written by one of the most dynamic author teams in the field of Reading and Literacy, All Children Read offers future K-8 teachers the best practices for nurturing emergent literacy, teaching literacy concepts, and developing reading and writing in all students - those of varying reading levels and abilities, as well as those who are English language learners.
I finished! The text itself was ok, but a typical, boring textbook. I'm just glad I finished my class and can get back to reading what I'd like to again (hopefully - I'm starting another class Wednesday, so we'll see). I'm hoping I can read at least one book before my next class starts in a few days!
There are far better books for an introduction to teaching language arts. I found this to be tedious reading, and whoever wrote the section on grammar near the beginning of the book should be punished. Seriously.
The one star is for the ELL chapter, which is actually somewhat useful.
There is a ton of information in this book..... but it is also repetitive and dry. I had to read this whole text for a class. If I was reading it on my own, I'm not sure I would have finished it.
