I have been wanting to read one of Rich Ferguson's books of poetry after first seeing him perform at the Onyx in Los Feliz Village. From the many poets who read that night, Rich did as I have always seen him do since - performed his poetry without notes, all from memory. He never "reads" his work off the page.

Reading 8th & Agony still felt like Rich was in voice, performing these pieces. My first thought after reading the first poem, "New Jersey Me" was - how does he do that? There are many
