I'm giving this book four stars because of the subject of the book. The topic of the Illuminati is what everyone is discussing these days. Especially as to it pertaining to Hollywood and politics. With that said I can't believe it took me five months to complete this book. One gripe I had about the book is that there were too many characters introduced and the the book jumped back and forth between decades making it hard to keep pace with the storylines. I almost quit reading the book several ti ...more

Couldn't put this book down. I started reading it yesterday and just got caught up. The author does give a lot of back story and normally I find that distracts from the story, but in this case it helped the story evolve from start to finish.

I am in awe of the complexity of the characterization and plotting in this story. All threads lead out and, eventually, all lead back in. We see varied characters at stages in their lives and development in great detail. We know why luxury is important to Tammy, why God is important to Elie, why Mezziah is motivated to success and not overly bothered with ethics. There are so many examples that I could give potential readers but all of them feel spoilerish because this is an author where just ab ...more

**This is not a 'proper' review. Unfortunately, I did not finish reading this book. I honestly just read up until 22%, 8th chapter. With this, I don't think I can effectively rate it, so this is just based on what I've read. I will also not post this on my blog.**

I don't know.. It's not bad at all, but I guess it's not for me. The first time I've read its synopsis, I was immediately interested with its plot. It seems mysterious and all that.

After two chapters, I felt that initial excitement when

Even though I had a few issues with this book, I really loved it. This book was a great insight into subliminal messages, and ,what I believe to be true, about some of the people involved in the entertainment industry. It really made me think about what I may be hearing subliminally in my favorite songs, and gave me the desire to play all of my music in reverse to hear any messages that may be in there. I GIVE THIS BOOK: 1/2 out of 5 stars

The only reason I am even giving this book a 1/2 a star is because the author did spend time writing the story on paper (there are even 2 spelling errors in the above synopsis).

I only read 20% of this book, but being an almost 500 page book - 20% is a large portion (almost 100 pages).

In the first 100 pages of this book, this is what you get: Imagine that you are famous and you want to go to an Oscar Party, but you do not want anyone to know you are there. So

I read it, cover to cover. Don't say I don't work hard on an ARC, to provide feedback to an author and a publisher.

Where to start?

Thank you NetGalley and El Marko Books for the Advance Reader Copy of this book. The views expressed are my own.

I must admit, I got lost in this book. Unfortunately, I don't mean that in a good way. I literally couldn't tell you anything about who the central protagonist was related to, who was the mother of whom .. The Daddy is fine, but the mothers ... Nope, I got

This book was pretty good a lot of twists and turns and worth thread. It really takes you on a journey of the music business. It makes you question what is too much in the name of fame. What would you do in order to do what you most wanted (sing). This book takes a young lady who is a religious person, gives her fame, slowly makes her change into someone she doesn't know and forces her to choose the road she wants to follow. What is the real cost of fame?

This is a brilliant read - highly recommended. Its the sort of book that once you start it, you cant put it down. I read all through the night as I was fascinated by the darker side of the music and entertainment industry. There were veiled references to real people in the entertainment world, strong characters and a great storyline. This book would make a great movie.

Although I finished reading Soul'd Out a few days ago, it is still lingering with me.
It's gotten into my mind and started quite a few wheels turning. I plan on rereading
the story, slowly this time. I'm left with feeling "I know it has a happy ending, but
I also know evil is still out there."

I received this book as a first read win. I read and reviewed it. However, I have been going over some of my books on Goodreads and have found some reviews and ratings were not recorded. Not sure where the glitch lies, but I will have to re-read this book to give an accurate review.
