3.75 stars - Interesting Welsh Medieval set in the War of the Roses

I wasn’t sure how to rate this book…somewhere between a 3 and ½ and a 4. I liked Morrison’s first book but this one was a bit slow in the middle and had a few other things that distracted.

Once again, Michelle Morrison has brought us fully-formed characters in a well-researched setting. You come to know the inhabitants of this period romance and are invested in what happens to them. Compare the intrigue of Richard III's court with the lush environs of the Welsh countryside and allow yourself to be whisked away in the dramatic love story of Lady Elena and Sir Gareth. ...more

This was a terrific book with outstanding research. The author did a wonderful job of weaving the story around the real life events. The descriptions of the period were spot on.

I did find half a dozen or so misused words which would have been remedied by a proofreader but they were so minor they didn't have an adverse effect on the story.

This story stayed with me after I finished it, wondering what the future held for the primary characters. It was a clean romance with mystery, action and drama
