This is a great work of fiction based on the popular Arab Spring uprisings of 2011. I was disappointed in the author's writing style. There was way too much descriptive wording, yet did not provide a clear image of what was happening. It does, however, provide an interesting look into the minds of the loyal subjects of tyrants as well as how media is manipulated to make conspiracy theories seem like reality. In all fairness though, "Humpty Dumpty", "Chicken Little" and "Jack and the Beanstalk" provide a better, more concise look at history. Liliane Khalil or Reem Zain or Olivia or Veronica or Sarah or whoever wrote thise book to simply try to out a former employee who wouldn't go along with her bullying. This book is a tasteless piece of work and has absolutely nothing to do with the Arab Spring. Read at your own discretion as it is supposedly an account of real events, yet a greater example of fiction being passed off as fact couldn't be found.
I lived in Bahrain during the uprisings and having read My Arab Spring bought home so many memories. I left due to the financial sector cut backs however wish I stayed on. At the time I wasn't sure where this was headed. Thumbs up to the writer who captured in such simplicity what many of the the locals and expats went through. The media in my opinion was very bias and the real trail of events has yet to be told. The governments weakness to react is perhaps a draw back. From what I read the writer seemed to live through two events. Many people I have spoken to feel the same way.
