This catalog was published in 1992, which is precisely why I got it last year for two bucks. I purchased it as reference material for my experimental mapping projects. Published well before digital on-line archives were accessible (and costly), this book is a record of the records, 364 pages of map typology descriptions and contact information for makers and organizations. Its the sort of item that belongs in the Prelinger Library, a resource that is discarded yet still very valid. And, it is much more concrete than the slipping links and missing images of the future.
