A great book on the current state of welfare science in zoos. The authors make a strong case for the importance of a growing focus on welfare in zoos, with many practical strategies for achieving best welfare practice. In particular, they focus on the use of objective scientific methods to determine the best conditions for the welfare of individual animals and species. This is work that anyone who works in zoos should be aware of.
