First of all I'd like to say thanks to Barbara Wallace for sending me a signed copy of this book.

Elizabeth is a 34 year old woman who has a 17 year old son, is a single parent & has been working full-time for Bishop Paper for 18 years. Her boss dies & his son, Charles Bishop, takes over the company but plans on selling it as he never got along with his father. Basically Elizabeth & Charles end up spending time together & that leads to having feelings for each other. I won't say a

What a pleasant surprise this story turned out to be! It's well-written, sweet, and incredibly romantic. If you are a fan of the Harlequin Romance line, I'm sure you'll love it. Recommended!

2.5 bintang.

Cukup suka dengan interaksi tokohnya. Walau dibeberapa bagian agak gimana dengan sikap Liz.

I really liked this book. Both Liz and Charles were control freaks. Liz felt the need to control her life and emotions in order to give her teenage son the best life she can. She doesn't trust anyone or anything to last. Charles inherited the company from a father he hadn't seen in years. His intention was to come in and prepare the company for sale as quickly as possible and get out. When Charles found himself being drawn into Liz's personal life and the life of the small town, he started to ch ...more

I cried. Twice. I have read that a category romance is a big story packed into a small book. From my experience, sometimes the author might tell the story but other things will suffer, such as character development. Not Barbara Wallace. She is now officially my favourite category author. I'm off to order books from her backlist now.

I enjoyed this story. My heart goes out to the single mother who is struggling to survive and raise her teenage son. I don't think I would have the courage to date the boss for fear of the consequences, still ... she does and, well ... you'll just have to read the book to see how it turns out.

Barbara Wallace has been a life-long romantic and daydreamer so it's not surprising she decided to become a writer at age eight. However, it wasn't until a co-worker handed her a romance novel that she knew where her stories belonged. For years she limited her dreams to nights, weekends and commuter train trips while working as a communications specialist, PR freelancer and full-time mom. At the u ...more
