Think of Hubert Keller's Souvenirs as a delicious combination of cookbook and personal memoir. His work is recognized as some of the best cooking on the West Coast with his restaurant Fleur de Lys in San Francisco, and his grace shows through when he appears in public and on camera. This is a luxurious book that you might need two copies of - one as a reference work and one for using in the kitchen. Or be very, very careful not to cover this book with food.

A mixture of memoir, mentor and mass of recipes, this coffee table-sized book will surely keep you engaged for a long time, enlightening and informing you about the history and development of acclaimed chef Hubert Keller along the way. This book was made available to me through NetGalley.

The worst part of this book was I was stuck on an airplane and my mouth was watering the entire time. Some of the recipes in here are not going appeal to everyone but the book also serves as a lovely biography of Hubert Keller. I enjoyed learning things about food and life in France and got a giggle out of some of the things that are described in the book. Had a lot of problems because the formatting of the edition I was originally provided was unreadable. When I was given a new version it expired early, so I was unable to complete the book or cook from it. I don't review cookbooks that I've not actually cooked from.
