I keep waiting for this series to lose momentum, become a little less interesting but it's just not going to happen. I even switched to the audiobook format and found one more reason to love the books. Everything about it seems to work, striking that perfect pitch between the suspense and romance.

Quick summary
D.C. Detective Samantha (Sam) Holland and U.S. Senator Nick Cappuano (VA) are fresh from their romantic engagement when he gets a desperate call from Arizona Senator Henry Lightfeather, a

Fatal Consequences is the third book in the Fatal series and my absolute favorite of them all, so far. Being a huge fan of Romantic Suspense I've read a lot of it, so it takes quite a bit to impress me. Well, let me tell you, Marie Force has definitely done that!

So far each book in this series has been excellent, and has kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. Nick and Samantha, the main characters and whose lives we follow through each book, are the kinds of peop

I had thought that the previous 2 books in this series had been outstanding but I was completely blown away with this one. If you love RS and you haven't read this series yet then I cannot recommend it enough.

I am not usually a fan of RS where the books continue on with the same couple as the main focus, as I have found that the romance side tends to suffer but this is definitely not the case with this series. Ms Force still pays just as much attention to the romance and we get to see the relati

I absolutely love this series. Each book gets better and better. I love Nick and Sam and all the other characters, that constantly put a smile on my face. Oh Nick Cappuano, how I heart you ;)

Man. So much happened in this book it's quite shocking really. Just like before, I wasn't truly able to guess who was behind the plots until the very end again. Marie is so good at that!

In this book, immigrant cleaning ladies who work in the Senate office are turning up murdered. It starts with one senator who had an affair, which later turned into love, for his cleaning lady. She was found murdered in a gruesome way but she was also pregnant at the time of her death. The senator knew about the

I'm really torn about this series because the suspense / crime aspects of it just aren't working for me but the romance / personal dramas are. Marie Force keeps telling us that Sam is a great detective, in fact the best in town, but she hasn't shown us. No uncanny ability to get into a suspects head, no outsmarting a cunning perp in the interrogation room, no gut feeling leading her left when everyone else is going right. She's never tru

I have struggled with this book and entire series as I seem to keep comparing characters, plot lines even conversation points to the JD Robb InDeath series. A good friend recommended I put away the comparisons and critiques and just enjoy the stories as they are written.
I guess I needed that push. I do love the way that while the series focus is Sam and Nick, Force gives a lot of page time to the other key couples in the series. The case was interesting and well paced and I enjoyed the way good

Great read - love that the setting for these books is in Washington, DC - where else can you find so much corruption! Learned something new from this book - "anchor babies" - never heard of that before. Marie Force weaves a great web of suspence, twists, turns, and has done a pile of research.

Really liking this series - great character developments and lots of them and all with plenty of flaws.

Two thumbs up!

Another great Fatal book! Sam and Nick are great together. This book was especially gratifying for me to read because very powerful people were taken down and justice was given to the powerless. Looking forward to reading more in this series!

The murder of two members of the Capitol Cleaning Service might’ve been just another homicide investigation—that is if one of them hadn’t been romantically involved with a married senator from Arizona. Lt. Sam Holland and her team are plunged into another complex case that at first seems open and shut. But as Sam tugs on the threads of the investigation she uncovers a deep, dark Washington secret that threatens the careers of some of the government’s highest-ranking officials. Racing to catch a ...more

Loving it so far...I have such a long TBR list that I have this and my next three books up on my currently reading excited for all four of these books!

Edge of my seat...great suspense in this one and I wish I didn't have to be at work today...would have loved to just finish it last night...but morning comes so quickly....ugggg

It is official: Marie Force has been added to my must read authors (those who I would read even if they wrote the phone book)... Sam and Nick are just too c
Here's what I hate about Marie Force books. They end and I want to keep reading them!

This was another wonderful installment of the Fatal Series by this wonderful author! I am feeling a huge girl crush on Ms. Force right now! :)

Nick and Sam are so wonderful. Everytime he says, "Samantha" I get all fluttery to use Sam's word.

I do have one small complaint. It's not anything major. At the end of the book something happens. I had tears in my eyes reading this. I would like to have been in Nick's head
This was an engaging read, but one I found implausible in a number of ways. You could tell that the author had done some research on the subject of anchor babies, which I appreciated.

The plot of this one builds on the events of the books prior to this, but I found it highly implausible that Sam could work through an (view spoiler). I also couldn't believe that Freddie and Elin were (view spoiler). Why hook them u

"Fatal Consequences" continues the series starring Nick and Sam, who have moved themselves into first place as my favorite couple in a romantic suspense series. I just love the chemistry between these two and find that a number of the secondary characters are endearing themselves to me as well. There's so much reading enjoyment in the creative case plots and character development. Mixed with witty humor and romance that leaves you breathless and you've got yourself a well-rounded "must-read" ser ...more

I've never been a big fan of suspense but I guess that changed after the Fatal series.
I loved it! I love the plot, the characters, the investigations and I specially love senator Nick Capuano.
So, if you're looking for a great romance, an interesting an exciting world building, lovable characters, intelligent dialogues and a good mistery, you definetly should read this books.

I am really enjoying this series. This book continues the story of Nick and Sam's growing relationship and I really enjoyed the murder mystery of this book. Ms. Force wrote a tightly woven suspense-filled mystery in this book. She is also highlighting the stories of the secondary characters in this series and showing us how their lives are unfolding. Although I seem to be late to the party, I am glad that I found this series and I plan to continue.
Book 3 in the Fatal series. These just keep getting better, if that is even possible.
Suspense, mystery, romance, camaraderie, humor. It's got it all. It's great how the side characters are developed further and get their own stories. Listening to this series always leaves me feeling warm and fuzzy.

Definitely enjoying this series
Why oh why does Sam feel the right to continually stick her nose into Freddie and Tommy's lives. Yes, I get they are supposedly friends but I see no evidence that supports that claim seeing as they don't really spend time together outside of work. I'd let this slide if there was even one measly scene where they all go out for a bite or for drinks after work.
Aside from that the plot was once again solid and the story moved along nicely. Also, maybe Nick should become the detective. Once again the
WHHHHY!! Why did I wait to read this book. I hate that I left Fatal Consequences lingering on Mount TBR. I blame it on the old adage toooooo many good books...too little time. It was sooooo good. A perfect storm of Nick and Sam.

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. Given the climate on the US political scene right now...disgraced 5 star Generals having affairs putting their careers in jeopardy...I couldn’t help but compare it to what Marie Force serves up in Fatal Consequences even though it

Sam seemed a little more careless in this book, and her obsession with her fathers case is going to cause problems in the future.

Like I said in 2011, I love spending time with these characters and I have to keep reminding myself that they are not real people!!! :)

first read 9/17/11-9/19/2011

Not only is it great to spend time with Nick and Sam, but there always seems to be a suspenseful story going on.

I think that is it safe to say that Marie Force will be an auto buy from now on.

Another great read!

Fatal Consequences had it all! Romance, intrigue, and turmoil that had me guessing at every turn. When 2 dead Capital Hill cleaning women turn up dead, once again we find Sam hot on the trail for a murderer! Standing by her side is her ever loyal fiancé, Nick.

What I loved about book 3 is getting to know all the secondary characters in the Fatal Series. We have Gonzo and Christine building a foundation for their strong relationship. And there's Sam's partner, Freddie, going th

This book..this series was and is AMAZING! What I like the most about it is that the Author kept the main characters throughout. The reader is able to see how their relationship, and the intense changes in their lives affect them and the people around them. (Keeping the same main characters is one of the things that attracts me to The Guild Hunter, Night Huntress, Kate Daniels, and Chicagoland Vampire Series).

Nick and Sam are strong, intelligent, compassionate, and broken characters, but the rea

Couldn't wait to get to the next installment of the Fatal series and it did not disappoint. This was some case for Sam and the MPD to solve and boy did they do a bang up job. This was also such an emotional book, for Sam and Nick, for Tommy and Christina and for Freddie. (cant wait to see what happens there)

And I can't stand Stahl...I hope he gets fired very soon, Marie has the best way of describing him where it makes you want to punch him in the face everytime. I want to know what he is so hap

Oh, I'm tempted to say this was my favorite of the series, but I just can't. All three are equally amazing. I love that we are getting to know each of the minor characters so well that they aren't very minor anymore. Gonzo and Cruz are very endearing and I hope to read more about them in the next two books. And McBride...OMG!! Why, why, why??? I won't say anymore but that storyline Will we see Scotty again?? I hope so.

Another fabulous book by Marie Force.

I am not so sure that the news is great for Mrs. Force. I don't know how she is going to top this one. Fatal Consequences was my favorite of the series so far, and really that is saying a lot since I have loved the first 2 immensely. It was so great to see some of the other charters get more story in this one, cause I am totally smitten with Gonzo and Christina. I really enjoyed getting to know Scotty and I have high hopes as to where that relationship heads. The action is great, the characters ...more

Each book in this series is better than the previous! The third installment in the series, this book is intense as Lt. Samantha Holland goes after the best kept secret in D.C., a high level prostitution ring.

Love this series and I'm anxious to read the next installment.
