Engaging mystery set in a small town in Maine. Living in Northern New England, admittedly, that's part of the story's appeal - I love reading references to familiar places. This is the second in what is shaping up to be a series of murder mysteries about the Ryland Historical Society in Ryland, Maine. Finally, the Ryland Historical Society is ready to break ground for its new building — that is, until a major donor is found dead on the site! And it seems she may have had quite a few enemies, so naturally Julie Williamson, the society's director, can't help trying to put the pieces together to solve yet another puzzle. But can she do it without putting herself in danger? Interesting characters, bits of Maine history, and a compelling plot all add up to make this hard to put down. Recommended.
