Sick on a Snow Day is actually the nicest-sounding phrase Adam and his cousin, Daniela, come up with in their search for a sweet-but-gross name for their new band. Although he is not musically inclined, 11-year-old Adam manages to find friends with marginal talent to round out the ensemble. An even bigger problem than his lack of musical skills is Adam's lack of academic achievement in math. Great junior fiction story about a band in a talent competition. Lots of humour and I think it would appeal to both boys and girls.
