Very helpful, loved the overview of historical responses to the poem

A very useful introduction to the Aeneid. As with other books in the York Notes Advanced series, it offers a clear and concise assessment of the structure, themes, political and cultural background, and changing critical views. It helped me to gain a deeper understanding of the poem and its place in literary history.

Very helpful to a certain degree. At an advanced level it provided a good framework for a more indepth study.
