It was a good overview of Canadian history but it seemed a bit biased. Every time it mentioned aboriginal methods they were always "sustainable" but the colonialist methods were always "damaging" "exploitative". Neither were as extreme as depicted.

Excellent book by university of toronto history professor Laurel MacDowell. A very clear and easy read for readers who have little to no background in environmental science.
