Two women are desperately vying for the same man, but when they discover he’s been unfaithful to both of them, one woman hatches a scheme that ends in disaster.

Two women from entirely different backgrounds who have more in common than meets the eye. Life has dealt Terelle a dismal a rough childhood spent in and out of foster care, an unexpected pregnancy, and an unfaithful man. But she's determined to change all that. All Terelle ever wanted was a home and a family to call her own and the stable environment she never got in foster care. Terelle works long hours as a nursing assistant to pay for exorbitant collect phone calls, care packages, and to generally help support Marquise, the incarcerated father of her child. She expects to be compensated with marriage and is devastated when upon his release he refuses to settle down and resumes his philandering ways.

Kai regards sex as sport until she meets Marquise. Feeling that she's fallen in love for the first time, wealthy and well-bred Kai expects street-savvy Marquise to leave his family for her. When she discovers that he is maintaining a relationship with both she and Terelle, Kai resorts to schemes that lead to disastrous results for all involved.

Well, this is my first Allison Hobbs book. I was really looking forward to reading it because she is my friend on Facebook, and I knew I was going to love her writing!

Terelle is trying to get everything ready for her baby daddy Marquise to come home from prison. He is in there on drug charges. She talks to him on the phone a lot, even though it costs and arm and a leg. She is working as much as she can to try to get the bills paid and make a good life for him when he gets home.

"Terelle let out a sigh. She was so tired. Tired of being lonely, tired of struggling to take care of Markeeta alone, tired of juggling bills. And she was sick and tired of dealing with her mother's issues--her unending problems. Her mother, Cassandra Chambers, had been on and off drugs for most of Terelle's life. At present, Cassandra was clean. She'd been clean for three months, the longest time ever." p. 3

Terelle had to be ready at any minute to take off work and go get Marquise. Finally the day came when he got to come home.

"He'd grown up in prison--matured. The things he used to do, he was no longer interested in doing. He promised: no more running the streets, no jump-off chicks on the side; no more hustling; no more hugging the block all day and until the wee hours of the morning. The drug game couldn't be won. He realized that now. He was going to work a straight job. Be a family man." p.41

He was on house arrest though and couldn't leave the house for 90 days. Terelle loved him being confined to the house and really wasn't looking forward to his house arrest being done.

Terelle's mom Cassandra came over and accused Marquise of something shocking. Of course, Marquise denied it, but Terelle didn't know what to think.

Marquise started to get a little too comfortable at home and was going to start back at old habits, but Terelle wasn't going to let him. He just didn't feel right having her being the breadwinner, and he wanted to get out there and contribute. He knew though that he needed to do what he had to in order to make her happy and get a respectable job and one that is legal.

Then there is Kai. She is something else. She was having sex with Dr. Kenneth Harding, but then he left for vacation and didn't even tell her. She was pissed at him. Like a married man is supposed to really put his life on hold for her and let her know where he is every minute. Come on, Kai.

Kai also has this weird thing about pulling on her hair and is totally addicted to sex. As long as the person is breathing, they are good. She called for someone to service the "clogged drain" in her apartment, but really what she wanted is to f**k the maintenance man. She heard a tap at the door and:

"It didn't matter who was on the other side of the door as long as he had a functional dick.

Kai opened the door and locked eyes with the maintenance man. Ortiz was the name embroidered on his uniform. She didn't know if it was his first or last name. Nor did she care. She was concerned only with the size of his assets and trying to make a determination, she stared openly at his crotch." p.91

"Kai unzipped her slacks and allowed Ortiz to ease them off. By the time he had taken of his pants, he was fully erect and she was moist. There was no need for kissing or fondling. All Kai wanted was some rock-hard dick." p. 91

Kai ended up in a facility and got the attention of one of the employees--a hottie who asked her what she had to eat and she said:

"For lunch...Hmm, I think I'll skip what's on the menu. I'd rather spend that time tasting you."p. 113

"Her eyes swept his long body, zooming in his crotch. His swagger and the bulge in his pants told her he was packing major meat. She took a deep breath and let it out. p. 151

Things end up a little out of control at the end and you will just have to read the book to see what it is.

There is definitely an erotic book and kept me turning the pages! I was very surprised at what happened at the end. One person's actions can really ripple through to other people's lives. I loved this book and plan on reading more books by Allison Hobbs. I love her writing and want more!

I loved this book, Allison Hobbs is a natural story teller. I blush at most erotica. (The truth is, a lot of it is unrealistic and embarrasses me when I see to words on the page, describing things you would not do in your right mind...) but the natural delivery of the lust of the characters in Insatiable made me very comfortable since Allison speaks it plain. Understand what I am saying, yall, when I say a woman made it with a gear shift in her car, and it was alright with me. I especially enjoyed the fact that Allison fits the heart of her characters to the size of reader sensitivities very well. She also adds elements of drama and surprises you with unpredictable outcomes. Insatiable is a must read if you have ever been addicted to a man, a woman or a fantasy... or have wished you could be free to be.

One of my favorites! Take a hood chick and a high maintenance chick and add a man to the mix...and you have nothing but DRAMA!

Let me say first off, KAI is crazy... I loved that about her character. She gave the story life and the WTW (what the what) effect. Some of Kai's decisions and thought processes made you say okay, I hope I never meet a real life person like her, yet it made the story so interesting. Kai was definitely not my favorite person, but I could not wait to see what she had planned next...

Terrell is "dangerously in love" with Marquise. Marquise is in prison when the story begins, yet Terrell is doing everything she can to prepare for his release home to come live with her and their 2year old daughter.

Marquise comes home to find that Terrell has been faithful and expects him to keep all of the promises he made to her when he was locked up. Marquise is happy to just that, and keeps up his end of the bargain until Terrell seems to notice how women are throwing themselves at him.

Although I generally never side with the guys in stories like these, I did feel bad for Marquise. I really think that he tried hard to make their relationship last.

I hate sad endings, although I know that they are necessary to make the story more believable, but I wished it could have ended differently.

I loved how this book flowed. The author gave you a glimpse inside each characters thoughts and dreams. So you are able to understand how the story affects each main character.

Overall...LOVED THE STORY

Reading this a second time did not take away from the story one iota! Let me preface this review with the fact that I rock with all the Philly authors because I love reading "familiar" settings, lingo, etc.

Kai was an absolute certified nutjob! She wanted what she wanted when she wanted. Period. Marquise was the ultimate playboy who did what he wanted with whomever he chose whenever he wanted and Terrell believed every lie that he gave her. Terrell was the most lovestruck, my-man-loves-me-so-he would-NEVER-cheat-on-me-AGAIN, fool who put up with his shenanigans. Really good story with absolutely no slow spots

This book was just ok. I read ONE book by Allison Hobbs a couple of years ago and thought she'd be a great author, but this is my 3rd book by her and I'm disappointed...and I've bought so many of her books because the first one was good. Now I'm stuck reading all the ones I paid for. Very slow...and I even have the sequel.

This book was great! Kai is completely out of her mind! Poor Terelle is flat out dangerously in love as well. Zai is flat out ridiculous and a hot mess but yet very interesting! This is the love triangle from hell! Lol. I can't wait to read the sequel "The Climax" next! This book is a page turner not a boring moment in it! Enjoy!

Meh. The usual Allison Hobbs plot "twists" and absurd ending. Not that entertaining; found both women annoying in their own way, and the guy they were into was a jerk playing them both, so who gives a crap about any of these characters?

I loved it! I truly thought Kai was a looney tune and Terelle she was so naive. There was many a time she gave me a headache dealing with Marquise. What I didn't expect was for her to go off the deep end. Allison Hobbs did a good job putting this story together.

I loved this book. Meg Cabot's answer to Twilight, but it's even better than Twilight b/c there's actually some nookie!
