“This compilation is notable for its wealth of small, colorful projects inspired by elements of Celtic design such as knotwork, spirals, fanciful animals, and religious motifs. Many projects are appropriate for the beginning cross-stitcher, and all are graded for difficulty....Each project includes full-color illustrations, both color and black-and-white charts, and finishing instructions....Recommended.— Library Journal.
A delightful book that not only give instructions for 40 small cross-stitch projects, ranging from bookmarks to place mats to pillows, but also provides interesting background into the Celtic arts, as well.
Good basic info on cross stitch, some good patterns, tips for customizing a design. I feel that most of the patterns are very simple and good for beginners. Personally I am only interested in the rainbow fish pattern. Diagrams are in black and white.
An interesting overview of Celtic designs interpreted in cross stitch. Lots of little projects to make use of the designs and other colour ways and projects are suggested.
