Before the Patriot Act this book worked like butter, now it might as well be a doorstop. The USA PATRIOT Act of 2001 is an Act of the U.S. Congress that was signed into law by President George W. Bush on October 26, 2001. The title of the act is a ten letter acronym (USA PATRIOT) that stands for Uniting (and) Strengthening America (by) Providing Appropriate Tools Required (to) Intercept (and) Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001.

Both the Patriot Act and the Internet allows for government agencies to easily verify whether or not document and/or information you give them is accurate. This prevents anyone from using most of the information in this book, except for novelty purposes.

I still recommend reading the book. I know that sounds odd, but there are still many basic techniques in the book that are used by modern day identity thieves. This could help you to STOP your personal information from being stolen, or even help you to repair your information if your privacy has already been breached.
