Andrew Doe is a very opinionated guy...but given that he is a walking encyclopedia of Beach Boys knowledge, he's earned that right as much as anyone could. He is the guy who corrects most people on their statements regarding anything related to the band or its members and is free in giving credit to others for their knowledge as well.

So a book by Andrew on the Beach Boys proves to be an interesting read and a worthwhile one, as well. And although I don't agree with all of his opinions (and nobody says I should anyway), they are well thought out and explained.

If you are a Beach Boys fan, you'll enjoy this a lot!

A comprehensive review of the band's music to date. There is on reading it, little of Tobler's writing discernible, making it mostly the work of Andrew G Doe - who though an insider and fan - gives a reasonably objective perspective on the group. The turkeys are identified. The turn of phrase used throughout is slightly idiosyncratic, but never detracts from the enthusiasm they have for the music and the characters behind it. As a helpful introduction to the Beach Boys work, it is a must for fans and would be fans.

A few interesting facts about various tracks I didn't know. Of interest mainly to hardcore Brian Wilson fanatics.
