Patience O’Conner is a travel blogger who lives for her work. Her dedication to her readers brings her to the famed Helios Resort in Mexico, a locale that stuns her with its beauty but at which she suffers from some very strange accidents.
Luckily, hunky resort bartender Apollo Delos is always there in the nick of time, a malcontent guardian angel. Apollo stuns Patience again and again with his life-saving abilities, to say nothing of his smoldering looks and apparent desire to keep her alive.
Before long, Patience wonders if there is more to the sexy bartender than mixed cocktails and insane first-aid skills. Something strange is happening at Helios and Apollo doesn’t want to talk about it.
Can Patience open herself up to this enigmatic man, even though she is terrified to be vulnerable again? And can Apollo recover from an eternity of hurt and learn to trust once more? They must both decide before Death comes calling.

I have been looking forward to this book and was not disappointed! I loved Apollo and had a strange urge to track down all the women that hurt him and broke his heart so I could bitch slap them for what they did to him (and maybe have them detained under the mental health act, clearly they were insane!). Apollo is such a sweet and good hearted guy! He has a lot of darkness to contend with in the form of his prophecies but he still manages to keep a bright outlook on life. I loved Patience and thought it was so funny how despite her name she had next to no patience whatsoever! I felt bad for her that she'd had to deal with someone like Foster in her life and her background with her family but she was the perfect match for Apollo I think because she did understand how much he'd been hurt having been hurt badly herself. When the two of them did get together they were so hot together! I half expected my kindle to burst into flames! I adored how Apollo took time to point out everything he adored about Patience's body, how he made her feel sexy and beautiful and told her off for looking down on herself and being so critical of herself. How we'd all love a man to do the same for us! One of my fave moments in the book was when they'd got together for the first time and ended up taking turns completing the same sentence! Another involved Hades showing a softer side of himself with Apollo! Hades needs his own book and soon! He needs his own story cause I think he's ready for some changes in his life and I think he's lonely. I wouldn't kick him out bed anyway! Frankly I don't think Persephone deserves him! Apollo really impressed me when he thought he'd lost Patience and he was devasted, instead of becoming 'Apollo the Destroyer' again like he did when Daphne broke his heart, he thought about the man Patience would want him to be and he curbed his anger, regained control of himself for her! That more then just about anything showed how much he loves her! If you haven't read this book or the previous two with his cousins Eryx and Dionysus then you really need to!
This book is like a bottle of sunshine in the middle of winter, it is a delicious upbeat story that is going to get you in a good mood. So find your tanning lotion and sun hat and enjoy.
Apollo the Greek God has been burned more than once and don’t want to have anything to do with love ever again. That works out fine until he meets Patience a wonderful full figured woman that takes him with storm with a bit of gruff comments and great wit. The dialog is full of funny comments and I Snickered and laughed while reading this book. The Muses really got my laughter going they are real funny.
It felt real original with this modern twist to the Greek myths I bought it and loved it, just picture Artemis in skinny jeans. The story is wonderfully written and so upbeat that you just get in a good mood reading it and you feel the sunshine on your body. You could almost get this on prescription as treatment for winter depression.
The romance builds up nicely and it is hot and steaming not to forget the shower scenes, hot, hot. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a charming romance or PNR filled with sunshine and fun dialog. I love this cute love story and I give it 5 stars.

Apollo has opened a resort(Helios). His sister Artemis is there to check it out. Apollo is nervous because he is expecting the Travel Chic (a blogger on resorts) to arrive at anytime. He is also troubled that his visions have been of a young woman who has her heart riped out of her chest. He never sees her face but because he can't see visions of people close to him he is worried. Patience (the Travel Chic), has arrived at Helios with her two best friends. They trying to get her mind of a ex-lover and some R&R in the sun. When they arrive a bartender approaches and offers a drink. Patience sees the hunky bartender and fights any attraction she has to him. She has no idea he is the owner let alone the god of the sun and healing.
Rosanna, this one made me cry. I love Apollo! Patience tried my patience a little. She has been through a lot but she gives Apollo a run for his money. Their story is very touching and loving. You really get sucked into their story. Loved the story and even though it was short was well worth the read. Adults only, some extremely HOT scenes!!
Claps and cheers! What a terrific book! I really loved this one. It felt so real, so normal, with the normal girl problem about their weights and everything. This book seriously can relate to a lot of woman. Apollo was such a sweetheart to Patience and the perfect Prince Charming ^-^. Mhmmmm and so gorgeous..
Again met Hades [YES!!] I like him, he's so full of mystery. And Artemis, hope she'll find her man, now that Apollo is with his goddess all the time :):).
The ending again, as always unexpected. Though, this time was spectacular! You amazed me again, Rosanna. Keep them coming hun! :D
I adored this book. Apollo, a Greek god, runs a vacation resort named Helios and meets vacation blogger Patience O’Conner who is anything but patient; this stills makes me smile and tickles my sense of humor.
Apollo and Patience were fun characters to get to know, the story flowed smoothly and had some delicious hot scenes along with a good dose of humor.
Another fabulous entry in Leo's series about the Greek pantheon. This one features Apollo, and is substantially different from the first two books in the series, though that is all to the good in my opinion. Where For the Love of a God had a down-to-earth practical(ish) feel, and Sweet Hell had something of a fairytale feel to it with their journey through Hades, this one has a very exotic feel to go with the exotic setting. The setting comes alive so well here that at times you almost feel like you should put on sunscreen and a hat for protection from the sun while reading it.
Like the other heroines, Patience is a fully adult professional woman who is entirely self-sufficient. She's been burned badly in love before, and has sworn never to let anyone in that close again, but one look at Apollo has her struggling to keep that vow to herself. She tries valiantly to keep her distance from him, to remain aloof and objective, walls firmly in place, but every encounter with him further weakens her defenses until finally she just can't fight it anymore. Still, she's a reasonable, practical woman, so even though she gives in to her attraction to him, she still tries to keep her heart out of it and to maintain some sense of objectivity about it all. For all that she seems to be a born skeptic, however, she still quite readily accepts several fantastic things without much question or fuss. Her willingness to take the plunge as it were, to explore the rabbit hole and see what treasures it might hold, is one of her strengths, as is her willingness, eventually anyway, to let go of the hurts in her past and open herself to the possibility of love again.
Apollo is much the same in many ways. He's loved several times in the past, and been hurt badly on more than one occasion, starting with the infamous Daphne. He too has vowed never to let another woman into his heart again, however lonely he might be. As with Patience, all it takes is one look at her for that resolve to begin to weaken, though he's not quite as successful even from the start at resisting the attraction as she is. Ultimately, though, he's both more and less successful at accepting his love for Patience and accepting of having a serious relationship with her. He's more willing to admit to his feelings (perhaps because he has to tell the truth always), but somewhat less willing to fully commit, and less willing to really believe that she could want him regardless of who and what he is, warts and all.
Without being overly descriptive, Leo manages to capture the feeling of a Mexican resort quite well in the tone of her writing, to the point that you can almost feel the heat and taste the pina coladas. The writing and descriptions are very entertaining, with many chuckles and laugh-out-loud moments over some of the situations, and most particularly at some of the epithets she comes up with. "By Poseidon's barnacle-infested ass" and "Tits of the Gorgon!" and several others that I forget off the top of my head now, all add flavor and hilarity to the tale. Even when events in the story are totally dire, still there are amusing phrases and descriptions thrown in that bring a bit of levity and remind you that it's all going to come out OK in the end. Probably.
I would highly recommend this story to anyone who likes romance, paranormal romance, and tales about figures from ancient mythology told with an irreverent and offbeat sense of humor. All of the characters are loveable (well, most all anyway), and even the villains are shown to have their softer, more human side so that they aren't just wholly evil. I might mark down a teensy bit for minor things here and there, but overall my rating on this one is so close to 5 stars as to make little difference.
Rosanna Leo is a new Author to me and I have to say I enjoyed this book so much. Her writing style is lively and fun which also comes through in the storyline, it’s a fun sexy read.
This is a story about the Gods set in the modern day and what a setting Helios Resort is, I want to go to Helios and I want to meet a sexy God. It's fast pacing you won’t find yourself bored at any part in this story and it's a lovely love story that will make you smile, laugh a little and want that HEA.
So we have Apollo who basically is sex on legs, well he is a God. He has been hurt badly in the past by women who said they loved him but when he showed them his true self they would run and this hurt him so much that he told himself he would never love again. He is a good guy but has done some bad things in his past. He knows a travel blogger is coming to his resort to write a review on it but what he doesn't expect is Patience and what she does to change his world. Patience doesn't think much of herself she thinks she is fat plain and boring. Haha well she didn't plan on meeting Apollo either but he certainly makes her feel a whole lot different about herself. Patience does have issues and when you find out why she is the way she is you understand her more and get where she is coming from. She does seem to have a death wish well so would you when you have a demon after you trying to kill you.
Apollo is there to save her time and time again and they grow close which leads to some pretty hot sex like I said I want a God.
I loved some of the side Character's especially the 9 muses they made me laugh put if they were like that around me I think I might end up pushing one of them in the pool but then they would probably stand there clapping and screaming thinking it was a game. They are funny. When danger comes a calling and Patience finding out some not so nice things about Apollo suddenly it is all taken away and she finds herself fighting.
With a little help from Hades Apollo finds himself fighting for Patience life will there be a happy ending for them both? Will they both fight to be each each others arms again. Read this fun sexy book to find out.
Oh God! Apollo is so freaging perfect in every way imaginable, he`s so hooooot! He`s my favorite of all the greek gods, i don`t care if he can be a merciless destroyer at times when he`s moody, it`s just something about him ahh! and whenever i see a romance that features him, Apollo the sun god, i have to get it no matter what. I am in love with that god. Apollo is beyond gorgeous, he`s the most beautiful of all the greek gods by the way. A man or a god like him could have anyone and everything he wants, he could be arrogant, full of himself and an ass but no ! He was so sweet, kind, protective, loving, affectionate and so PATIENT with Patience. The irony is that even as gorgeous and magnificent Apollo is, he is rather unlucky in love. his past lovers were more interested in what they could get from him instead of loving him for himself. I kinda understand them cause they probably thought that a really magnificent god like that would leave them anytime for someone better than them. So he decided not to go that way anymore because him and love usually take the same road but can never meet together. But Patience Proved him wrong by loving and caring for him for what he is and not what she can get from him. I love Patience, she`s so funny and hilarious. At first she couldn`t believe someone like Apollo could have genuine feelings for her and she was also hurt by bad relationships in the past. But Apollo worked hard and used a lot of patience to prove her how sincere he was about her. What i like the most is when he was ready to give his godly soul to Hades in other to save Patience when the demon took her. I love that hot and awesome story, it`s so full of passion, love, lust, commitment and actions. You go Rosanna Leo! very good job. I want more, more...
Dear god, let me count the ways of how much I loved this book! It was perfect, sweet, funny, and had plenty of romance. At first I was really reluctant to read this book when I found out it was about Apollo. I've read the Greek myths surrounding this god and some of it was kind of frightening when you think about being on the receiving end of his "Affections". Also I'm a huge fan of Sherrilyn Kenyons books and in her Dark Hunter series Apollo is a complete prick, and for a while it was really hard for me to take away what I've read about Apollo in her series so I could finish this one. Thankfully the Apollo in this book was nothing like the Apollo in Kenyons series. In this series he's thoughtful, kind, honest, and rather sweet and totally sexy as all hell. The scene in the shower on the patio was so hot I had a blush on my face for twenty minutes!!!! I loved watching as he fell for the strong-willed, stubborn girl that was so unlike her name. Patience was definitely a character that I found entertaining. She was just all over the place with her personality I feared I would get whiplash trying to keep up. But it wasn't annoying or hindered the story by any means. I found it funny and kept you on your toes trying to guess her next reaction. The story line was absolutely fantastic! There wasn't a flaw in sight. The story had a nice flow to it that made it interesting and did not linger on any boring or unnecessary details, but also gave an appropriate amount of time to really connect with the characters and what they are going through. This book was perfect in every sense of the word. 5/5 stars.
Apollo Dellos is the owner of Helios, a swanky resort in the heart of Mexican Riviera, happens to also be the Greek god Apollo. He's also been gifted with seeing visions of the future but has to be touching the person to know if it's either he or she from said vision. Lately Apollo's visions have been very dark and disturbing. Apollo is also worried about Patience O'Connor a travel blogger with exacting demands. Patience O'Connor is traveling with her two best friends Doris and Angie but doesn't want to drop her guard while she's at Helios. Patience keeps seeing beach perfect bartender everywhere she goes. Yet she can't imagine not seeing him either. Apollo and Patience are both wary of being hurt and not accepted for who they are. What does this dark vision mean? Can both Apollo and Patience move forward? Will Apollo believe in love again? Your answers await you in Sunburn.
This is the third installment in Greek Gods Series. Personally this is my favorite of the series so far. The way both Apollo and Patience have been hurt in the past and carry on to fight another day rings true to the core of my being. As alpha males go Apollo is in a class all his own if that's possible. I'm fan of mythology to which I love the blend Ms. Leo creates for her story. I will definitely be on the look out for the next book.
This is my favorite in this series so far! While it didn't jump into the action as quickly as For the Love of a God or Sweet Hell, Apollo is easily my favorite god so far. Some of my feelings come from the fact that he was always one of my favorite Greek gods, but mainly it was just him in this story.
This story is sweet, like them all, but Apollo and Patience's relationship felt more real and more believable to me. It felt like it built at a more natural pace and when they finally came together it was H.O.T.! The mythology was seamlessly intertwined with the modernization of Apollo's character. It was done so well that it felt like a natural evolution.
Really, I just can't say enough good things about this book! It was so much fun and it will be on my reread pile soon!
Book 3 from the Greek God series and I'm SUNBURNT from all that HEAT Mr Apollo was radiating. So well we have a Greek God who is hot and everything. I mean c'mon he is the God of Sun??! So well he owns a fancy resort in Mexico and who is his next tourist? Our lovely insecure, broken, one-with-a-miserable-past-experience, one-with-family-problems, chubby, smart, and ALL OF THAT. H feels and instant connection to her knowing some unknown DEMON wants her dead. I mean what's a romance if there is no save-the-h-from-the-demon-villain. Very original there. So the rest of the story goes somewhat like H saving h like almost ALL THE FRICKIN TIME. Steamy sex and h realizing he is a Greek God and accepting it. The last bit was a little unrealistic because I would shit my pants but oh,well. The end was a little different from the last two books so yes I'm very happy. What I absolutely love about all three Greek God Series books is the h. Someone who doesn't look out of a magazine and has real life insecurities. So 5 stars to you Leo. Waiting for the next book on Artemis .
I started this book and just could not put it down (damn you work why must you spoil my reading time!! LOL) Honestly loved these two. Patience is just adorably awkward to start off and really has no idea what to make of Apollo. And Apollo... well... he is just so beautifully flawed. Wanting to be loved for WHO he is as opposed to WHAT he is but thinking himself unworthy until along comes Patience and he just has no defense against her!!! I HIGHLY recommend you read this series in order, not because you can't read each story as a stand-alone, you can, but because I truly believe you will get the most from this series by starting at the beginning and just immersing yourself in the characters that Rosanna Leo has created.
Now to wait eagerly for the next installment... hopefully Artemis will be the next to find her soul mate (wink*wink*nudge*nudge* Rosanna)
Rosanna Leo's Sunburn makes an excellent addition to her gods series. Set in the warm, tropical, Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, you can almost feel the tropical breezes as you read. But that's not the only heat she brings to this book. *fans face*
I wasn't sure how I'd feel about Apollo after falling in love with Ms. Leo's Eryx and Dionysus, but boy does she deliver the golden god on a hot platter. *fans face again*
There's a little something for everyone here. Mystery, erotic passion, adventure, friendship, humor, love, and heart.
not to sure of exactly what to say,but i loved it!!! and even though i knew apollo would get his H.E.A. from you, i was crying reading this book. so, so, so, so good!!! and i'm so curious to see how you plan on making us care for hades as much as your other boys, since he's been the baddie. and as to not give to much away nice little twist on the H.E.A. from the first 2 books :)
my favorite authors , kresley cole larissa ione laurann dohner and now rosanna leo is added to the list !! i can't tell you how much i enjoy this lady's books ! they are amazing !! read this series ! they just get better and better ! oh man i'm so happy !! $%$#%$&$$%& if i could rate it higher than a 5 i would !! MUST READ !
i loved this one....omg I'm so glad Apollo is happy now and that he is still a God I thought all of them would end up mortal......and I love the muse crew that was super cute.....I hope Artemis is next and she finds a nice guy and gets to stay a God too.
ooh Apollo was awesome along with Patience. what a sweet couple. and I didn't know Hades had a soft side. another good book. I'm assured that there Will Be another one. lol OK I'll hold u to it. I recommend this last book!!
Absolutely loved! It was as fantastic as I have come to expect from Rosanna Leo. Funny, sweet, with strong characters, and plenty of adventure, it was the perfect book to dive into!
Great gonads of Titan! I thought Dionysus was awesome but then I met Apollo. *drool* sorry let me wipe that up.
Okay, Patience is a travel blogger with a mission of honesty and she has been personally hurt in the past. Apollo can't lie and owns the resort she is reviewing. There is an unseen, unknown danger at first but the lovers cautiously enjoy each other. Then all hell breaks loose. Well okay just a bit of it but it was enough.
The characters are easy to love. The story made me laugh then made my heart soar, then hurt, then soar again. Well written and fun. I think I need a vacay at Helios.
Another fantastic Greek god tale from Rosanna Leo. I've been hooked since book 1 and like the other reviewers, I'm consumed with the need to have more Hades!
Book Description: Patience O’Conner is a travel blogger who lives for her work.

Can Patience open herself up to this enigmatic man, even though she is terrified to be vulnerable again? And can Apollo recover from an eternity of hurt and learn to trust once more? They must both decide before Death comes calling.
My Thoughts: Sunburn was the story of Apollo Delio, a blonde-haired, blue-eyed god *literally* who meets up with a sometimes ornery and sharp-tongued travel blogger, Patience. Patience has come *secretly...or so she thinks* to Apollo's resort, Helios, to do conduct a review for her travel blog. The two characters begin a subtle dance of advance (mostly Apollo) and withdraw (always Patience) which kept the story engaging from the very first page.
Although I greatly I enjoyed Sunburn, For the Love of a God and Sweet Hell are still my favorites. Sunburn started off a little slower but was no less enjoyable. The byplay between Apollo simmered with seduction and when it started to boil...*fans my face*...boy did it boil!
I love Leo's books because she shows a different side to Greek mythology and the pantheon. The gods aren't depicted as toga and laurel leaf wearing ancients with dated speech and ideals. Nope! Her gods have all the characteristics and powers of the "ancient" deities without the staid personas. Seriously...Artemis was wearing skinny jeans! LOL.
This book was both entertaining and sweet and I enjoyed reading every minute of it.
Note: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a well written, enjoyable read that had good flow in addition to being light and witty. I really enjoyed the tone of our hero and heroine.
Our heroine, Patience, is a real woman. She has self-image issues and relationship worries that I think many of us readers can relate to. She is also not a size 0. I loved her! Apollo is hilarious, especially his curse words. I loved how he stayed in character. My one complaint was about Patience's friends. I didn't like how they waffled and didn't support her decisions.
The setting of the book made me totally jealous as I watched the snow drift to the ground. The decadent and overindulgent feeling of vacationing in Mexico was definitely conveyed. I thought perhaps that things wrapped up a little quickly - Apollo was handed the answer to his major dilemma so that cheapened it a little in my eyes.
This book was about Patience, a travel blogger, who visits a resort in Mexico as part of her job. While there she meets the owner Apollo with whom she has an immediate attraction. The catch? He's not just named Apollo, he is THE Apollo, as in Greek god Apollo.
I don't want to put spoilers in this review so I won't touch on the rest of the plot. I thought this was a fun read and I enjoyed it a lot. The characters were likable, it was a creative storyline, & had some pretty hot scenes. I liked the fact that it incorporated Greek mythology and did not have the usual vampires, shifter, etc. It was a refreshing change. I did not realize when I started it that it was the third book in a series but that did not matter at alone. This book was a fine stand alone & there were only brief mentions of past characters. I will definately check out the other books by this author.
Another wonderful read by one of my new favorite authors.
Apollo is smoking hot....pun totally intended. It took me a little bit to warm up to Patience but in the end I thought she was wonderful and worthy of the love of Apollo. This book made me want to jump on a plane for a nice little holiday in the Mexican Riviera....
I am looking forward to reading more on Artemis and Hades.
My one complaint about this book....where were Eryx and Dionysus??? I was hoping maybe Apollo might have invited them to his resort for a holiday so they could be around in the background with their lovely wives....
'This guy made Brad Pitt look like a butt-scratching orangutan from the freaking circus.' What's not to love about Apollo and his 'celestial nostrils'? The third instalment in Rosanna Leo's Greek Gods PNR series has all the elements I have come to expect in her writing: highly likeable characters, lots of irreverent humour and a light-hearted take on the Ancient Greek myths. I wasn't crazy about Patience's girlfriends, they seemed underdeveloped as characters and Doris' accent grated on me, but otherwise this was a really entertaining read. Is Apollo 'my' god? Sadly not. This one didn't push my buttons quite as much as the last two in the series, but I believe that's down to my own tastes in book boyfriends. I tend to fall for the arrogant, sullen types with the soft centre, Mr Darcy over Mr Bingley every time. Apollo is a big softie in a hard, hunky body, who wants to be loved for who he is, not what he looks like. Patience is a ?plus-size career girl with a bundle of self-esteem issues owing to her rough past. These two reminded me a little of Rhage and Mary from the BDB series. If you're a Hollywood girl, chances are you'll fall for Apollo's easy charm. For me? Old Uncle Hades kind of stole the show in this one. '...there was a sensual, velvety caress in his voice too. As if he'd reached under her skirt, put his hand into her underwear, and fingered her right there at the macaroni station.' That line, for me, was the panty melter. Lol Hades also said something about not clinging so long to something that it eventually turns into something you no longer recognise. This gives me hope we might get to see the pervert from hell shake free of Persephone and get a story of his own? I'd certainly love to read that one. This was a perfect, fast, fun read while basking in the French sunshine and looking out for Gilles and Claude lookalikes. I look forward to reading more of Leo's other series.
Love this series. Sunburn is the third book in the Greek God series. I have really enjoyed all three books and can not wait for the next one. There's more going on at famed Helios Resort own by Apollo than meets the eye and the famous blogger Patience is going to figure it out, even if it kills her... which is exactly what Death has planned. Apollo, a god who can not tell a lie is always there in the nick of time to save Patience. Patience was someone that any woman can relate to who has a weight issue, she seem so real and normal. Apollo was hurt badly in the past by women who could not eccept him for who he really was. Patience, because she also was hurt in the past, can relate with Apollo and understand how he feels. She even eccepts him in all his glory. It broke my heart when Apollo thought he lost Patience and how devasted he was and instead of letting his fury loose and destroy everything, he thought of how Patience saw him and he curbed his anger and regain control of himself. Patience and Apollo are characters that are easy to fall in love with. I am so glad that their HEA is a little different from the first two books.
