April 8, 2009http://nhw.livejournal.com/998924.html[return][return]good background essays, very good restaurant recommendations, a sensible approach to navigating around the sights. My one complaint is that the maps are not tied to the text awfully well, and actually allowed us to go seriously astray when we looked for the catacombs along the Appian Way.

I was surprised at how small Rome is. You can walk everywhere.
