The photos in this book make it a good, basic, stitch encyclopedia. It wasn't an entertaining read, but it is a good resource.

I read a lot of knitting books trying to teach myself socks and this one was the most illuminating. Good pictures and not a lot of hype.

First book I ever learnt knitting from (along with YouTube tutorials). Mostly used the techniques given and skimmed through the projects, haven't made anything from here yet.
