'The Unraveling' is a beautiful, believable fantasy story for children and adults alike. Set in a world not unlike earth, the residents of Ose face similar challenges to the humans on this planet, balancing fact and superstition, and maintaining a sustainable environment in which humanity can progress hand-in-hand with environmental and social concerns.

Woven into this environment like the thread in a fragile garment are the sages: a small clique of seemingly unrelated people with heightened sens

The Sage Seed Chronicles: The Unraveling by Holly Barbo, caught my attention because of the unusual title and cover graphics. After reading a sample, I downloaded the ebook and enjoyed a fantasy read, suitable for young and old alike. The setting is the planet Ose with the moons Luna and Cear where Sages are in danger of being annihilated, although it is an "unpardonable crime to cause a Sage to die." Sages live extended lifetimes for hundreds of years and possess wisdom, intelligence and ethics ...more

This is the story of Erin, a young woman who’s trying to elude her parent’s murderer. Her situation appears to be very bleak, but she’s far from being helpless; she has just inherited her parent’s powers and she’s now able to communicate with animals and sense the emotions of others. She’s already in good terms with Cair, a merlin falcon and very soon she makes friends with Tempo, a skunk… along with many other wild creatures that start to help her. Erin attempts to loose her pursuer by assuming ...more

Great book. This story took the reader thru the minds of good and evil, it allows a person to make up him own mind

By telling lies or truth, the people involved have to decide who to believe. The sick mind of a man who wants control of a world he has no right to, or of the people they have known all their lives. People can be influenced it is all a matter of right and wrong. Trust is hard to come by.
Read this book and enjoy a great telling of times that used to be

The Sage Seed Chronicles combines a bit of fantasy with classic science fiction for an exciting tale of survival. Very reminiscent of Dark Eden and by Chris Beckett, dystopian and speculative fiction fans will certainly be intrigued by this concept. Though I admit to getting confused a few times, the story flows well overall and moves at a steady pace, sometimes picking up for the more intense scenes, and lingering a bit for more atmospheric scenes. Barbo created moderately complex characters, t ...more
