a comprehensive textbook-style approach to volunteer management. a lot of times i find that the concepts actually mirror that of the normal human resource management in an organization. that said, volunteer management is definitely more delicate. this book did solve some of the mysteries i encountered, and gave me some clues to rectify the problems. might be a bit too broad as the authors aimed to cover all aspects and types of volunteering.

A must read for any volunteer manager, a thoughtful and inspiring walk through every aspect of volunteer management. Easy to read, easy to dip in and out of, covered every topic I could think of, and full of practical tips, examples and templates. Recommended.
