I think the Claude series is rapidly turning into one of my top recommendations, regardless of the context. "You like chocolate? Great, read some Claude." "The weather *is* nice today isn't it. Read some Claude." "You want me to sign for that parcel? Only after you read some Claude."
This series by Alex T Smith is adorable, and it's going from strength to strength. Just in case you don't know what the premise is, the eponymous Claude is a dog full of je ne sais quoi. Him and his best friend - Sir ...more

The illustrations earned the book another star, otherwise, it was just ok. Claude goes on an adventure with his best friend the Sock. It’s silly and kind of funny, the character names are quirky and clever-ish and I think it’s meant to be charming, but it just fell short. It just felt like a series of silly little happenings with very little drama or conflict. Even the main spot of trouble wasn’t terribly troubling. It was obvious by everything else that had happened to that point that the issue

Claude and Sir Bobblysock take a trip to the country and get to be farmers for the day rounding up sheep, lassoing bulls, and other exciting things.
Well, life is certainly never dull for these two. And Claude has the most unflappable owners ever. I think the bathing pigs part of this story was my favorite part. I also like that at the end of all the Claude adventures he's invited to join some group but declines to go back to his "humdrum" life.

My class and I love Claude and Sir Bobbly Socks. This is the SEVENTH Claude book we've read this year. This is also my least favourite so far. It still has the charm of the other books, with Claude going on an adventure, finding stuff under his beret, Sir Bobbly sock having one of his funny moments and Claude saving the day. The children love that it always begins and ends in the same way, even the weakest of readers are able to join in.

This is another great addition to the Claude series. These books all make me chuckle and Claude and Sir Bobblysock's adventure to the country is no exception. Claude finds his way to a farm and ends up helping a farmer get ready for the County Fair. There are so many comedic moments as Claude works with the different animals. This is a delightful series for new readers. Pleasant illustrations. Brief text. Funny story. Early chapter book perfection.

Kaarle-koiralle ja Lordi Nukkasukalle sattuu ja tapahtuu, minne ikinä he menevätkin! Tässä tarinassa Kaarle vie Lordi Nukkasukan maaseudulle, missä he päätyvät auttamaan paikallista emäntää markkinoiden järjestämisen kanssa.
Hulvatonta menoa, hivenen kakkahuumoria mukana.

Brilliant! Adorable and funny. Both I and my little sister love this series.

There's just something about that Claude. In this, the sixth title featuring the adventure-minded Claude, an adorable black and white dog, and his more reserved friend, Sir Bobblysock, the two set off for a day in the country. As was the case in the previous books, wherever these two go, trouble and lots of fun are sure to follow. Mrs. Cowpat, a friendly farmer, enlists their help in herding the sheep, gathering eggs, and cleaning the pigs in preparation for the fair. True to his enterprising an

Claude in the country by Alex T. Smith is a great read for independent readers. The fourth installment in the series can be enjoyed by itself or as part of the series. Claude and Sir Bobblysock decide to visit the Countryside and come across Woollybottom farms where they meet Mrs. Cowpat. Claude and Sir Bobblysock help Mrs. Cowpat get ready for the county fair. Hilarity ensues as Claude helps Mrs. Cowpat gather eggs, becomes a sheep dog, rides a horse and even saves a snotty judge from an angry

This book is as silly and whimsical as you'd expect from a story about a dog and his best friend, a sock named Sir Bobblysock. In this installment Claude goes to Woollybottom farm and helps the farmer, Mrs. Cowpat. The story is light and simple and will be great for kids just starting to read chapter books. The ample pictures in shades of grey and red add a lot of humor to the story and complement the text perfectly.

I really like that this book has coloured pictures and relatively few words on the page. There should be more books like this in the world, for young lovers of picture books who are bridging the gap between pictures and chapter books. The seven-year-old loved this story, laughing out loud quite often.
I really liked that the farmer was a woman.

Claude in the country by Alex T. Smith is a animal adventure story. The problem is the score guy at the fair gets chased by a big bull! Will claude be brave and help the score guy? Claude is brave because he goes to the country. People who like animal and dog stories should read this book. Claude' "sir bobbly sock" and the farmer are the main characters.
