Je commence tout doucement à m’habituer au style des dessins, mais on y est pas encore 😬
C’était un tome super intéressant à lire, on en apprend un peu plus sur le système magique dans ce monde et je trouve que ça a été super bien construit, j’ai eu un peu de mal à suivre mais bon faut bien le temps que ça rentre.
L’évolution d’Arthur est intéressante à suivre, ce contraste avec ce personnage est plutôt cool, et concernant Sylvie j’ai hâte de voir ce qu’il sera fait d’elle 🤔
J’avoue que je suis intriguée par la fin de ce tome qui laisse présager quelque chose d’intéressant pour la suite et pourquoi pas un peu d’action, à voir ce qu’il sera fait dans la suite !

Ce quatrième tome sert un peu de pause, mais rappel qu’Arthur n’est pas n’importe qui. Il permet aussi de présenter de nouveaux personnages, qui reviendront sans doute par la suite. Comme Arthur, je n’aurais pas pu résister à remettre en place une certaine personne, tout en rappelant au Roi, que sa position ne lui permet pas toute ses lubies, et encore moins celle de ses subalternes. Il n’y a qu’un pas vers l’arrogance et la tyrannie après tout.
Participant à une vente aux enchères, Arthur et sa famille sont invités par Vincent. Il prouve par ce comportement combien ils sont proches, surtout qu’ils vont se retrouver avec la famille royale ! Ignorant, Arthur fait une petite bourde, qui donne envie au mage royal de lui volé (oui c’est le terme, puisqu’il utilise son influence, ainsi que celle du Roi pour espérer y arriver) sa bête de mana. C’est clairement le genre d’individus que je ne peux pas voir, mais je suppose que c’est le cas de tout le monde. Imbu de lui-même, devenir mage royale lui a fait prendre le melon, mais face à Arthur ça ne marche pas, bien au contraire, il va subir un bon retour de bâton. Le Roi le rappel tout d’abord à l’ordre, pour ensuite tenter de négocier avec Arthur, je me demande s’il a toute sa raison à ce moment. Arthur refuse par 3 fois de manière polie, et fait comprendre au Roi que sa bête de mana est comme sa famille, serait-il prêt à vendre ses enfants ?
Ni une ni deux, ça en vient au scandale et au manque de respect envers le Roi, alors qu’ils sont les premiers à ne pas respecter Arthur, juste parce qu’il est roturier. Encore une fois, être noble ou Roi ne donne pas tous les droits ! Le roi aurait mérité une bonne correction également, pour qu’il se souvienne, que sans ses roturiers, il ne serait roi de rien. Au final, Arthur s’en sort encore plutôt bien, puisque personne ne se rendra compte de la réalité des événements, ce qui est assez louche également. Sa famille lui reste très fidèle et proche, et semble également ne pas apprécier le comportement du roi, notamment son père. Je me demande si cette présentation, assez négative, du Roi, n’est pas réalisée pour une partie future de l’intrigue ? Comme une guerre à venir, ou que sais-je encore. Vincent continue de se sentir coupable, et tiens à lui offrir quelque chose. Là encore Arthur va un peu en profiter, pour ensuite commencer son voyage en tant qu’aventurier.

This volume is slightly after the latest episode of the anime, so I feel like I'm getting ahead of myself. (I tried reading Blue Lock and watching the respective anime episodes immediately after each volume, and that worked for a while until I couldn't find the next volumes.) I should actually save my review for the respective episode come out, I think, but I really wanted to read the GN well before seeing the episode.
Also, I can edit. I usually do.
The tone feels like it's shifted, now that Arthur has reunited with his family, possibly because he's been missing and (until he sent a one-way message that he was still alive) presumed dead for three years, so here he is at a mature *eight years old* and already looking at going away again.
Yeah, his mom isn't really having that.
I guess it's from shifting the story from Survival Mode to Deal with the Folks and Future Education Prospects Mode, and some random incidental plot elements that I'm not really sure yet what the significance of them is (the auction house). There's still a bunch of fighting, so there's that going for the anime, but I don't know. I feel like time spent animating this series (especially after the fan disappointment) could have been spent on a better* manhwa, like Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint (though I'm definitely looking forward to The World After the Fall's anime—assuming nothing falls through and the announcement isn't a prank).

Finally, Art is reunited with his family. And as he gradually gets used to his new life, he has some big decisions to make about where he goes from here.
After a few volumes of rising tension, this one peaks in the reunion that's been so long delayed. It's nice to see the awkwardness that is Art trying to fit in with parents he hasn't seen in three years, as well as a new little sister. They're trying to integrate him into the family once more, but it's clear Art's matured, and he has his own ideas about where he wants to go from here.
Mostly this is a nice break, with a few sparring matches to add some magical battles. (I do love that his dad's idea of male bonding is "Fight me!")
I can also appreciate that despite how much Art loves his parents, he's still keeping secrets. About Sylvie, and the beast will. About everything he got up to while they were apart. And, as his parents vaguely realize, about the source of his combat abilities, which predate anything anyone taught him.
Overall this is another strong volume. Highly Recommended.

Serves you right Sébastien ! Même si je suis certaine que ce n'est pas la dernière fois qu'on le verra, au moins il aura déjà eu chaud aux fesses.
Voir Arthur entouré de sa famille dans ce tome fait du bien. Il a l'air plus heureux, et il apprend tout de même des choses.
J'enchaîne immédiatement avec le tome 5, parce que j'ai bien trop hâte de voir comment cet examen va se passer et se terminer !

Arthur has returned home and reunited with his parents. Lots of tears and hugs that eventually lead into Arthur demonstrating his new powers (while also keeping secrets). Also, new environment, new characters, new threats...
Not a lot happens, but it's enough of a set up that you'll want to read the next one.

Arthur and his dad duel and his dad is surprised how much his son has grown; especially magically. The family that Arthur's family lives with own an auction house and our preparing for their 10th Anniversary of their auction house. (April 28, 2024)--4 stars

Meeting your dad for the first time in years and wanting to fight, the whole duel aspect of this story really comes front and centre it is the premise, he is a duel-master therefore we conclude he must duel.

Steady pacing, though I would have liked it if the plot advanced a little bit more. It felt more like just reading a chapter instead of a whole book, but I'm still looking forward to seeing where this one goes.

Love this series! So addictive! In this one we see Arthur reunited with his family and meeting his little sister. I love Sylvie….and hope that Sebastian guy isn’t planning on stealing her or something, he’s very obsessed with her. Must start reading next book right away!

I like this arc, still lighthearted and fun but hinting at more to come

Overall I think the art is doing a good job of reminding us that he is still only 4 years old although at times I feel like they (him and the elf girl) do come off more like elementary school kids so notices sure why they didn’t give him a few more years at home learning concepts and then having an 7-8 year old to venture with his parents to get a mentor as it would have maybe more sense for the elf girl to have the conversation they have at that age as I don’t know if a “normal” 5 year old would have talked with him this way. This is a common issue I have when I read stories with children now that I am a parent, when I was younger and childless I find the give or take of 3-4 years of child development wasn’t noticeable and seemed fine. Now it’s always me going “a 5 year old would do that” or a “10 year would have grown out of that”

So I started this series online as I don’t have patience to wait for the weekly episode update of the anime now that it’s streaming for the spring season.
It reminds me of the Japanese isekai anime/light novel series Mushoko Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation where the reincarnation happens at birth and they basically are born with the consciousness of the past life not just memories of the past or getting the memories in life like at puberty or when they turn into an adult. Not like transmigration “reincarnation” isekais where they take over the body of someone that’s died and they may or may not have the memories of the previous person.
One of the main differences, for the better in my opinion, is that the MC isn’t a pervert. In Mushoko Tensei he was a 30 something incel basically so notices his mom’s breasts when he’s a baby and obsesses later for an entire arc over not being able to get it up after losing his virginity at around 14 and then being left like a one night stand.
I really appreciate that the MC, Arthur, in this series is NOT obsessed with sex or a pervert. Rather then reincarnating from modern day korea he was a King in another world and while seems to have been a cold tyrant as he rose to power he’s quite rational and calm in his new life, and him learning what it means to have family ties and to care about people we see a lot of emotional growth.
We get funny comedic breaks as he struggles with adjusting to a baby body and his lack of control over it. Like being embarrassed that he soils his diaper. Over all I really enjoy this arc as he learns the magic structure of this world and apply his knowledge and skills from his past life to adapt to this world.
