I really like the way Marks wrote this book. It was really simply and pulled me in fast. I finished it the day I started, partly the awesome writing and partly my no life. It is worth reading and I am going to look into her other stuff!
Short and sweet. Was this amazing work of literary genius, no. Was it a fun casual read, yes! I will be entirely honest when I admit if it wasn’t for the last couple of chapters dragging it down this book would have gotten at least four stars. Those sections well our main characters were separated could have been so much more impactful and frankly far less dull if there had been a little editing magic. Overall though if we ignore that last little section this was a really enjoyable book. It was an easy read that delivered precisely what it was supposed to.
Really 3.5 stars. It's sweet, charming, and a quick read. There's nothing bad about it besides feeling a bit rushed, but there's really nothing there to make it stand out from a crowd or make me want to recommend it.
The female character doubted herself and her relationship to such an extreme extent that I grew to dislike her. She created a man sent him out to do a job and the minute he walked out the door their relationship was over just because he wasn't able to spend every waking minute with her. Maybe they fell in love too early in the novel, but really they were both rather silly.
