CC MACKENZIE is a USA Today bestselling author of twenty-eight novels. Readers have dubbed her books, “made me laugh and made me cry” “hot” “page turners”. If you meet CC in the flesh you should call her Christine.
I'd read and enjoyed Reckless in Rome (the first book in The Ludlow Hall series), and I really loved Rosie in that one, so I was looking forward to her book. Alexander seemed like a bit of a stuffed shirt in Reckless, but oh no--we learn in this one that he is an alpha male, through and through. Lots of laugh-out-loud lines and blazing hot sex (did I mention it was on fire? It so was!), not to mention getting to visit with Bronte and Nico again and see that their marriage is still sizzling, make this book a definite must for fans of the series and anyone who's suffered through a long-term unrequited love. Although I got a wee bit impatient with Rosie at times (the girl needs to learn to open up!), her pain and angst over a man she's loved for ages (about half her life or more) are understandable and made me feel her turmoil. And Alex's ham-handed initial response doesn't help matters!
first off this was a gift to me and omg i am so glad I won the contest.. Anyways I love the story Of Alex And Rosie.. Rosie is a breath of fresh air while I was reading this book all I could think about how she looked telling Alex off .. I love it , and I am going to buy my mother the other two book in series , so she can read and enjoy them as much as i have thank you .. also can't wait for the next one .. you need to put josh and janie together ...
I wanted to slap Rosie. She has been in love with Alexander her whole life and once he realizes he loves her, she cannot be with him? The childish games got on my nerves! This book was over 700 pages and without the games they could have gotten together by page 200.
To simply say I loved this book just doesn't seem enough, this book pulled me in and had my emotions all over the place. I loved all three books so far in this series but this one is my favorite so far. Rosie Gordon has loved Alexander Ludlow for what seems all of her life, she has taken small things of his to remember events in her life, and feels like he just sees her as a sister. Alexander Ludlow is just starting to let his feelings for Rosie show, she doesn't believe he really feels this way. Rosie decides she is going to leave, she tells Bronte (from book 1 Reckless Nights in Rome) Alexander's sister that a man has broken her heart and she needs a fresh start, Alexander doesn't want her to and so starts the journey of them finding their mutual love for each other. At one point I just wanted them to be locked in a room together to work it out, I was laughing, shouting at them, and in tears then back to laughing. You all need to read this book and take the rollercoaster ride with Rosie and Alexander you will not regret it
Third book in the Ludlow hall series and still loving it! Alexander's and Rosie's happily ever after is a long time coming but all I can say is it's definitely worth the wait. This book made me laugh out loud, it made me cry and it gave me that feel good feeling a great romance novel is supposed to give you. A must read!
OMG, I soo loved Rosie! She is like a lot of women out there but with spunk. I enjoyed reading about her and Alexander and look forward to future books with them in there. Can't wait for Book 4!!!
loved, loved, loved the story of Rosie and Alexander, although at times I would have liked to shake sense into Rosie. Very good read, great book thank you
I enjoyed these characters especially Rosie and Alexander. Although some parts were a little predictable I still thought the author kept me on my toes. These two are a freakin riot, friends, secretly in love and so much more. Love Bronte and Nico too great secondary characters, they make the book that much better. Love the meddling town, sometimes though I wanted to slap those gossipers and the petty bull crap they cause but I loved it. I loved the way Rosie is (...and she's back) lol too cute and Alexander's way of running his tongue over his top teeth when he's irritated which seems to be quit a lot at times. I just enjoyed the banter and flirty eyes and kisses...super sexy and the Love Muscle too. Josh made the book too, he's super cute a total flirt and just too funny. All around great read, cute, sweet, funny and loving all in one. 4.5 stars review by upallnightreadallday.blogspot.com - Nanee
I did not enjoy this book as much as I did the first two in the series. I was somewhat frustrated with Rosie's attitude, she's loved Alexander for years - yet after they finally got together she wouldn't tell him she loved him, and she was planning to leave. Alexander's attitude wasn't much better, he was quite domineering - not in the loving way Lucas was - he just seemed a little mean IMHO. I didn't feel any chemistry between the two characters, not like the chemistry between Bronte and Nico, and Becca and Lucas. Even reading the love scenes in the bedroom, I just didn't see/feel any chemistry between Rosie and Alexander - it was just sex.
The book really slowed down in the middle, I had a difficult time finishing it - but I did. Not sure if I will read the next book in the series.
This is the third book in the Ludlow Hall series, and it’s the first title that I’ve read by Ms. MacKenzie that is part of the Sugar and Sin bundle. I liked that I did not have to read the first two titles before reading this one, but because I enjoyed it so much I will be getting the rest of the books in the series.
Rosie has loved Alexander since she was a child, but she’s never told anyone, not even her best friend who is sister. When she decides she needs to put her fantasies of being with Alexander behind her things do not work out the way she planned. What will she do when she realizes that two men want to be with her?
I received a copy of the book bundle Sugar and Sin that contains this title for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Really enjoyed Run Rosie Run. Love the whole series, but I have to be honest and say I loved the first two more. That is the only reason this story did not get 5 stars from me. I felt that Rosie & Alexander really did love each other, and loved how Rosie was so in Lovvvva with him, that she kept personal items of his locked away. But hated that she ran so much. I agree that they needed to be locked into a room together for a week. Alexander putting her over his knee was more than she deserved, he should have paddled her backside but good. She had to know he loved her after he watched over her after her concussion.
Good story but somehow did not enjoy it as much as the first two books in the Ludlow Hall series.
The story is about pastry chef Rosemary Gordon had worked hard her whole life to be successful… Now the wedding cake business she runs with best friend Bronte was winning awards life should be perfect But Rosie has a deep, dark secret And the steadily bubbling chemistry with Bronte’s brother, Alexander Ludlow, has suddenly become way too hot to ignore.
I am hoping the next book, The Trouble With Coco Monroe.
I loved Run Rosie Run..a lot I laughed and cried and probably went through all the emotions. I literally couldn't put it down as I found myself up until 3am most nights! I felt like I was standing next to Rosie and I just wanted to shake her sometimes and say snap out of it! To be honest I love all the characters especially Alexander, I would love to have him with a dash of Nico. I really can't wait to read more about the other characters :)
So Rosie and Alex were bickering throughout the first two novels, and this is finally their own story. Loved how it developed, their dialogues and could relate perfectly to Rosie (her fears, ambitions, doubts and flaws). Alex was a gentleman yet had a funny side, and it was nice to see how his opinions and feelings changed, and how he struggled to come to terms with them. A nice entry in the series (personally, my pick out of the whole series).
I had read Reckless Nights in Rome and I had totally loved it. Even while I was reading that book, I always felt that Rosie and Alexander might have something between them. So I was very happy to find their story being given a full fledged space. But it was a disappointment. Not as good as the first book. The tough Rosie from 1st book looked like a complete idiot in this one. She came across as vulnerable, no confidence, and immature at times.
This was my favorite in the series so far. Rosie is a strong independent woman on the outside and so vulnerable on the inside! You can't help but be drawn in by her struggle with her feelings for Alexander, her best friends brother! CC MacKenzie always writes such fun characters! This book made me laugh out loud and the steamy chemistry between Rosie and Alexander - Wow!!!
Even though the love stories in this series are predictable, I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. The characters are amazingly developed and there is just enough unknown to entice this reader.
Alexander would say "Aaand she's back..." when Rosie showed her wicked sense of humor. These two had such a hard time admitting their feelings for each other.
