This is part of a cycle of 4 books about the seasons. (The others are My Spring Robin,Apples and Pumpkins and The First Snowfall) And at the age of 2, my daughter one wanted one of these read to her every night.

Take a trip with this little girl and her mom as they get themselves ready to spend an exciting day at the beach doing all sorts of cool things. Perfect introduction read about going to the beach for little ones.

This one was OK but it could have used a little more excitement. But I guess when you're at the beach you don't want things to get TOO exciting. Like sharks or a jellyfish, or having sand in your lunch.
The girl had red hair like Mama but the mom did NOT have blonde hair like Mimi.
The beach we went to was all little rocks and hardly any sand so maybe that was why their lunch didn't get sand in it.

This is a good book for young children about the beach and all of the things that one can do there. It would be a good story to read with a child who has or will travel to the beach.

It's descriptive, short enough for a babytime while still having enough to work for older groups. Nothing super amazing, though.
