I really that this book gives projects from a variety of arenas without trying to teach all of them. It's for those who knows the basic techniques and is looking for some new projects, perhaps someone who has just read a book and done a few simple projects and is looking for more. These are fairly simple projects, though, and not for an experienced crafter unless the person is new to that particular technique. The instructions are very clear but not accompanied by photos or drawings to help with any confusion.

There's nothing particularly earth-shattering in the projects, but they're all innocuous and pleasant and I liked most. Unfortunately, I don't do the majority of the crafts as knitting makes my repetitive stress injuries flare up, I find cross stitch tedious, and I'm terrible at crocheting. I don't like spending a ton of time on paper projects only to have them be destroyed or tossed soon after, and I can't eat sugar so baking is out. The one area I am highly trained in (if not particularly exacting and a lot messy and really not that good at since I'm really lazy and take shortcuts) is sewing. So the simple projects are way beneath me. So the only thing that would work for me are the beading and embroidery and it's not worth it to buy a book for a handful of projects. But if you know all or most of these skills somewhat and are looking for a lot of simple projects in a wide range of areas I do recommend this book.

This book is great for that all around crafter or hobbyist crafter. A lot of quick small projects ranging from cupcake decorating, knitting, beading, crocheting, sewing, knitting, cross stitching etc. Easy projects. Might be good for the intrepid beginner who wants to try new crafts or find the craft that speaks to them without having to invest a lot of time and money.

Lots of projects need templates. Did not find ANY in the book. How useful is that?
