This book discusses the author's mother's dementia and his reflections on the subject in the light of Tibetan Buddhist practice. Clearly and compssionately written, but I would have liked to hear more about the actual first hand expereince of dementia or the day to day work as a caregiver and dharma practitioner. As a Buddhist and dementia nurse myself, I think that would be a really rich subject. Obviously though the author has written from his own experience - can't complain because he didn't ...more

This is a great intro to Buddhism written by a Western man who is dealing with the loss of his mother who had Alzheimer's... really touching and well written with a powerful message. I liked it so much I plan to buy it for a friend.
