I read Studies in Etymology for my English Root Words Class (LING 103-01). I really enjoyed it, I learned a lot of words that are taken directly from Latin and Greek. Of course, with English taking French words that originally came from Latin anyway.
It's amazing how English is a mix of multiple languages. This made me even more interested in English as a language and now whenever I see a word, I want to break it down to its core meaning.
The chapters we read were: Introduction, Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 5, Chapter 6, Chapter 7, Chapter 8, Chapter 9, Chapter 10, and Chapter 11.
